Overview

About the property

2 BR + loft, 2 bathroom, mountain view, on bus line.

Location, location, location - best in Steamboat! Steps from two of the largest grocery stores in Steamboat: City Market and Wal-Mart. There is a Starbucks and a pharmacy in City Market, and a liquor store adjacent. The bus stops at the end of the driveway making it equally easy to get to the mountain (Gondola Square) or downtown in minutes.

The living room includes vaulted ceilings, a 47 inch HDTV with a DVR and DVD player, bluetooth speaker, free wi-fi, a gas fireplace, and a door to the deck with a spectacular view of the mountain. It opens to the kitchen over an open bar. The bar seats four, and the dining table seats six. There is a propane gas grill on the deck for all your grilling needs.

The kitchen is fully appointed, with all the comforts of home. It includes a dishwasher, electric stove/oven, microwave, garbage disposal, crock pot, full set of pots and pans, baking pans/measuring spoons, a programmable coffee pot, hand mixer, blender, and toaster.

The master bedroom has a king size bed, attached bathroom (shower/tub), and walk-in closet. There is a TV (NOT hooked up to cable) and DVD player in the master bedroom.

The 2nd bedroom has two bunk beds with twin 8 inch mattresses on top and full 10 inch pillow-top mattresses on the bottom.

The loft (directly above the kitchen) has a queen bed.

Linens are provided including 500+ thread count sheets for your comfort.

The second bathroom has a tub/shower. Each bathroom has a hairdryer for your convenience, as well as bar soap, shampoo, and conditioner.

Extra towels stored in the hallway linen closet. The laundry room has a washer and drier, ironing board and iron, and three humidifiers for use in the bedrooms. Please enjoy the complimentary laundry soap! Two fans are also available for summer months.

Skis/boards can be stored in the front foyer or in the private storage unit across the landing from the front door.

Two community hot tubs are available directly behind the building. PLEASE NOTE: They are only open November - April, 1 pm - 10 pm. They are closed May - October.

Plenty of parking available!

Our condo is located two blocks from the Core Trail, a 7.5 mile paved, flat trail that runs from Mt. Werner Street to beyond downtown. Bikes are available for rent from the Ski Haus, located on the other side of the condominium complex. Our guests receive a 10% discount on bike rentals, and 15% discount on ski/board/equipment rentals. The Core Trail goes past/through several parks and picnic areas, the botanical gardens, and the Bud Werner Memorial library. (sidenote: it is perhaps the most beautiful library I have ever been in, and a godsend for families with children. They offer a guest library card that allows you to check out 8 items at a time. There is also a return box in Central Park Square in front of La Fiesta for your convenience.)

About Jessie Saul

Both Paul and I grew up in Minnesota, but have lived all over the world. We love traveling together, and skiing is one of our passions. Steamboat Springs combines both of those loves in one gorgeous package.

Jessie Saul purchased this condo in 2014

Why Jessie Saul chose Northwest

After skiing at numerous resorts in North America and Europe, we came to Steamboat in 2012 with our two children. The snow was like nothing we had experienced elsewhere, and the family-friendly atmosphere hooked us. We started looking for property in 2013, and jumped at the chance to own at The Pines. We named it 'Uller Haus' after Uller (Ullr) the Norse god of winter, who is also rumored to be an amazing skier. We hope you love it as much as we do!

What makes this condo unique

The views of the mountain from our top-floor deck are among the best in the city. And you cannot beat the location - we are steps from groceries, liquor store, pharmacy, and restaurants. Between that and having the free city bus stop at the end of the driveway, having a car is completely unnecessary. There is also plenty of parking if you do drive. With six beds and space for eight to ten, there is plenty of room for two families, or a girls' or guys' getaway. We love to cook, and have equipped our kitchen accordingly, and put a propane gas grill on the deck. There are also two hot tubs for your use just behind our building [NOTE: the hot tubs are only open November - April]. Having the Core Trail two blocks away is fabulous, whether you want to go for a run, or ride bikes to the library.

Convenient, Spacious, Clean, Affordable

  • 5 of 5

This property is quite spacious and offers a comfortable stay for multiple families at an affordable price. We were very pleased with the accommodations and had an enjoyable weekend stay to catch the foliage and do some mountain biking. Although we didn't need to reach out to them, the owners were very proactive with establishing communication and made sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely stay here again.

Well maintained, close to whatever you need.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a weekend. The condo is close to a nice grocery store so there is no need to plan ahead for food. The free bus stop is also very close, so getting to town is a short and easy endeavor and the kids love riding the bus. The beds were comfortable. Kitchen is indeed well appointed. Jesse the owner is great and very communicative via email. We'll keep this place on the list for next time we visit Steamboat.

Excellent location - fantastic condo

  • 5 of 5

Work brought me to the area for a couple months, March - May of 2016. Because my stay at the condo was semi long-term (8 weeks), I got to know the place fairly well. While this condo was great for many people, couples and kids alike, it was also quaint and comfortable enough for just myself. Some items I thought that were significant to note about this condo:

- the kitchen literally has everything you'd ever possibly need. Plus there's a BBQ on your own private patio.

- The views from the private patio were AMAZING. Gorgeous sunsets facing the ski mtn every night.

- the master bed is VERY comfortable, and the master closet was huge, which really helps keep all your luggage out from underfoot.

- the two bathrooms were clean, modern, nice. Ample (and quite plush) towels/linens.

- Toiletries etc fully stocked.

- Parking was ample, and conveniently located.

- The condo's shared hot tubs (there are two) were really nice, but (to no fault of the owner) was closed for much of my stay (annual 'mud-season' maintenance). But, I improvised... the Old Town Hot Springs was a short drive/bus ride away (which is fabulous).

- Location-wise, this was probably the most important part... It really couldn't have been better. Now, you aren't walking distance to downtown, but you are to several local restaurants and markets. You're about half-way between the mtn and downtown. And the free bus is REALLY convenient. It picks up every ~15 minutes at the entrance of the complex (about 50 steps from the front door) - and it goes in both directions (5 minutes to the mtn, and 5 minutes to downtown). Not to mention, the main bike path that runs along the Yampa River is very easily accessible - you can jump on it right at the end of the road. SO, you could easily bike to downtown!

- If I could have change anything at all, it would be the option to bring my pup. (Unfortunately, it's not the owner's restriction - it's the condo's regulations that prohibit pets anywhere on the complex. Maybe they can work getting them to loosen that restriction!!:)

- Did I mention the patio views?!?! I'm going to miss that SO much!
