Writers such as Nietzsche, artists such as Beuys and musicians such as David Bowie have been inspired by the fantastic expanse and this magical light and have contributed to Sils being considered THE cultural centre in the Engadin today. Guests from all over the world and the locals proudly and with good reason refer to Sils as a place of energy and power. This is because particularly high "Bovis values" have been measured here. Idyllically nestled between Lakes Sils and Silvaplana, the village lies at the gateway to the romantic Fex Valley and is the perfect starting point for walks in the vastness of this sun-drenched landscape. Those who want to enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of the snow-covered forests can hike along the 150 km of winter hiking trails in the side valleys of Val Roseg, Val Fex or Val Bever, while those who prefer an overview can enjoy breathtaking views on the panoramic hiking trails high above the lakes on Muottas Muragl.
