About Suzanne

Eric & Suzanne are Pacific Northwest Natives who enjoy fishing, hiking, skiing, and generally enjoying everything the Olympic Peninsula has to offer. They have owned the Hood Canal cabins since 2001, when they embarked on a painstaking renovation. We hope you love the cabins and Hood Canal as much as we do.

Suzanne purchased this cabin in 2001

Why Suzanne chose Hoodsport

The West side of Hood Canal offers both salt-water fun and hiking opportunities in the Olympic Peninsula. We can scuba dive, snowshoe, hike the Staircase, fish, and mountain climb, all within minutes of the cabin. Very few places in the world offer such diversity. Oh, and did I mention the oysters right outside the front door?

What makes this cabin unique

It's very relaxing. Not just the view of the water , fun on the beach, a soak in the hot tub or storm-watching in the winter, the cabins are warm and inviting. We're less than 2 hours from Seattle, but you really feel like you've gotten away from it all.

Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

This was a return visit, and it looks like this might be an annual pilgrimage. Really perfect any time of the year--we've stayed when the weather was gorgeous and took advantage of the lovely beach (lots of oysters!), and when it was rainy and cold and relaxed with a book by the wood burning stove. And no matter the weather, the secluded hot tub is always inviting. Large windows throughout the cabin with gorgeous views of the canal, nearby Hama Hama Saloon has incredible food, and a great kitchen for those that like to cook (old school Wolf range is fantastic). Perfectly clean, just an ideal spot for a relaxing weekend. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this cabin; you will not be disappointed.

Fun, Inviting Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was spotless and easy to settle into when we arrived on a Thursday after a hike to nearby Lower Lena Lake. Everything was perfectly in order, with especially high marks for the shower and the claw-foot tub. My husband, our daughter, and I were able to watch the seals (binoculars provided!) before making supper in the well-equipped kitchen. We felt "cheffy" using the fancy stove. The beds were comfortable, and the area was very quiet at night. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and I enjoyed working with Suzanne on the arrangements. I highly recommend this rental!

Great house! Beautiful spot!

  • 5 of 5

This is an amazing spot. The property feels very private as it is at the end of the private driveway. The grassy lawn and rope swing go right up to little seawall and a small set of stairs leading down to the rocky oyster covered beach. We saw tons of wildlife; eagles, cranes, seals etc. The home was impeccably clean and welcoming. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need and we loved the gas stove with the attached flat griddle (grill), great for pancakes! Both the hot tub and sauna have a view of the water. It kind of felt like we were at a spa! The owner was also very kind and went beyond the call of duty to rush down and to prepare the property for us before we arrived. This is definitely a five star experience and we hope to return soon.

Elopement honeymoon weekend

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was perfect in every way for a mature couple on a quintessential Northwest elopement honeymoon. We loved the vintage fixtures alongside gently effected perfect modernization. We enjoyed everything the cabin had to offer (hot tub, sauna, decor, view) including self-harvested clams and oysters from the shellfish capital of the world.

Lovely place to go!!

  • 5 of 5

We were so pleased with the entire process, the house was so perfect for the setting with lots of care n upkeep and decorations it was a wonderful relaxing yet fun getaway for our family with 4 small boys:) they were either on the rope swing or in the hot tub or climbing rocks and bench combing... The sauna was also so nice and waking up with the seals laying all around the beach on the dock was really cool too!!:)

A Tranquil vacation!!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you so much Suzanne and family for the wonderful time we had at the big grey cabin! My daughters and I (8 and 2) loved swinging on the rope swing out front and watching the seals sunbath on the platform in the water every day! It was a special treat to find the binoculars provided so I could get an up close look at the seals. We also enjoyed taking the dinghy out into the pristine waters (included in rental). We made s'mores and even had our complete roasted hot dog meal out by the fire pit at the north end of the private beach. The cabin was perfect! Very clean and I loved all of the "beachy" decor. It was just lovely! Everything was really perfect! Thank you again!!!
