I am originally from Chicago but have lived in the Phoenix-Arcadia neighborhood since college. We enjoy an active lifestyle of hiking, biking, and snowshoeing the trails behind the cabin as well as snow boarding and cross country skiing at the nearby ski resort. Most of our free time over the last couple of years has been taken up on our renovation of the a- frame and tiny cabin using sustainable building practices. Materials were zero VOC plant based non toxic coatings that we manufacture and salvaged locally sourced Ponderosa Pine, recycled doors, windows, furniture, and fixtures. All three of us (including the dog) have allergies so we try to keep the cabin as dust and allergen free as possible. We find it rewarding to help bring families and friends together from all over the world to enjoy the wonders of Flagstaff and to share the living experience in our cabin. A portion of your homestay fee helps support Flagstaff Family Food Center, Food Bank and Kitchen.
Mahesh purchased this Cabin in 2011
Why Mahesh chose Flagstaff
The property is a great mix of a peaceful rural area with great vistas but 10 minutes from the excitement of a vibrant mountain town and is one of the highest in the country at 7,000 feet in elevation. The summers are warm but not hot like the central Arizona desert. Be prepared for warm summer days (average high is 78 degrees) and chilly nights (average low is 42 degrees)
What makes this Cabin unique
A very quiet secluded country setting with great views of the mountains and in the midst of the world’s largest Ponderosa Pine forest.

One night is not enough
This was a cute little cabin. We wished we had planned to stay longer. It was nice that we could bring our dogs. It was nice to have the fully stocked kitchen as well. The wood stove and baseboards gave off plenty of heat and made us very cozy! We will definitely come back again!!
We (husband, 3yo and I) had a magical time in this wonderful cabin. We will return for sure and wholeheartedly recommend a stay here for others. My only selfish restoration would be that others would discover this gem making it difficult for us to return.
We had a perfect stay at the A frame and felt very much at home. The owners sent us a very helpful list of good places to go to and eat at in Flagstaff. It was great to be able to walk out the door and right into the forest. We would definitely stay here again!
Awesome A Frame in Flagstaff
The whole process from booking to enjoying our stay to checking out was soooo simple. The cabin is very well stocked with everything you may need. We were very comfortable and would book it again. We were there 3 nights and would stay longer next time
Such an amazing experience- definitely want to return in the future
