About Marc Sobel
The owners, Dennis & Cindy, shown above moved to Bass Lake in 1983 with our young family of four children. We had vacationed here for many years and decided we wanted our four children to grow up in a small mountain community. We spent six months enlarging & renovating a small lake front cabin that was originally built in 1942. Our children grew up in this house, went to elementary & high school here before starting their own families. They have blessed us with nine grandchildren. We just recently retired and love to travel and visit our children & grandkids.
Marc Sobel purchased this House in 1984
Why Marc Sobel chose Bass Lake
My husband started vacationing here when he was ten, and we started coming together in 1966. A vacation spent in a neighboring rental convinced us this was a prime location. This is the home where we raised our family. You'll find family photos still on the walls and all the comforts of a real home. There are bright light-filled rooms and no dark cabin paneling in sight. The beach is right out the lower family room door. There are cedar and dogwood trees around the house and a lawn area on the side. You can watch the alpin glow from the sunset as it settles on the forest across the cove or if you're lucky enough to be here during a full moon you can watch it rise too. If you're here in August, you can sometimes catch the meteor showers if you lay out on the chaise on the beach. This is one of the safest places to swim because boats are only allowed to go 5 miles an hour in Willow Cove area. We have been blessed to live here for 36 years and give thanks for that blessing every day.
What makes this House unique
This home is large enough for two or three families and is a wonderful place to make vacation memories. Bring your beach towels, chairs & pop-ups and spend a lazy day on the beach. The water is warm and your views of the pine covered mountains is spectacular. If you love to get away in the winter, we have two wood burning stoves to warm you on a chilly day. For skiing and snowboard enthusiasts, you'll enjoy Badger Pass Ski & Snowboard Resort in Yosemite National Park. There are 3 double chairlifts and 1 triple chairlift that access ten runs. They have a great learn to ski program and are very family friendly. You're also just 30 minutes from the southern entrance into Yosemite National Parks and a short distance from the Sierra Scenic Byway. In the spring the waterfalls in Yosemite are spectacular but you can enjoy without the summer crowds. In September and October most days are still warm with cooling temperatures in the evening.
