Beautiful home

  • 4 of 5

The house is beautiful, well stocked and maintained except there was no TV reception. It was just a bit small for our family of 18 with only two queen beds and three double beds for 5 adult couples. Because of all the wood the house was quite noisy when our several grade school aged kids were inside. Outdoor activities were the highlight of the weekend with close proximity to the creek, hot tub and yard games we brought.

Great Stay for A Large Group

  • 4 of 5

We had a fun weekend and a cabin that nicely accommodated all 18 of us! It is in a wonderful location and came stocked with everything we needed.

We saw a mouse on 3 different occasions in the kitchen area each time. There were at least 2 different mice (based on coloring), though I have no way of knowing if we ever saw the same one twice. There were no problems with food at all and we understand that rodents are more prevalent in more remote areas like this.

The hot tub worked fine, but we wonder about electrical issues. Everyone inside the hot tub was fine. When anyone stood outside the hot tub on the ground in bare feet, they got shocked when touching the water inside the hot tub.

The couches and beds were perfect. There were plenty of towels and blankets and pillows. With so many people in one space, there was a surprising amount of room to move around. The kitchen had anything we needed that we didn't bring with us. It is a beautiful home and we all enjoyed our stay.

Owner's Response: Hello Julie, thank you so much for your feedback, we appreciate it and take it all very much to heart. This property, like so many in the mountains, can be vulnerable to the presence of pests and so we are sure to provide regular pest control service for the comfort and peace of mind of our guests. We will make double sure to step up the frequency at Money Creek Lodge as needed. An electrician will assess the tub and fix any safety issues right away. So glad your family enjoyed the space! We'd love to have you back for another mountain getaway anytime. Sincerely, Mysty Mountain Properties

This was our third annual winter family weekend and we really enjoyed money creek lodge.

  • 4 of 5

Great place for a family weekend. Lots of snow made it perfect for grandkids to sled right in back yard. Never had to leave the property . Campfire at night, sledding during the day, and hot tub made it so nice for all.

Great Fun, but a few problems

  • 3 of 5

I gave three stars because everything about the property was great. My friends, and myself had a great time. There was plenty of room for all of us to be all together for meals and at the same time we could find a quiet corner to read or take a nap.

However, my problem was with Mysty Mountain Properties we were held responsible for the front door handle that worked the entire time my group was up there, but now Mysty Mountain Properties is claiming we broke. They emailed me that they were filing a claim against the insurance policy they make you pay for to rent from them. I was upset that they filed this claim before talking with me about it first and then when I emailed back for them to explain how it was broken I got a few emails back from them and then an email saying they would get back to me later and that was over two weeks ago and I have not heard back. The other issue I had with them was I called the after hours line because it was after hours about the breaker for the hot tub kept popping, I never received a call back. The thing that bothered me the most was after you request a booking they send you documents that they want you to fill out with your information for that weekend. That is normal for most rental places, what was not normal when they asked how many people where going they asked for first name, last name, and the phone number for all who were going and the make, model and license plate number for all the cars. That to me was asking for personnel information of the other guest that they didn't need to know. I understand about asking how many guest and cars, but phone numbers and licence plate numbers? I called and asked them about it and they told me it was to make sure there was not more people then there should be and if the police came for a noise violation they can see if there was someone there that shouldn't be. I told them that i was not giving them the phone numbers or licence plate number because i felt uncomfortable giving that personnel information to them and they said I didn't have to give those bits to them.

The rest of the stay was good though.

Owner's Response: Hi there! Thank you so much for choosing Mysty Mountain Properties and our Money Creek Lodge for your North Cascades Getaway. We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed the Lodge and all the fun and relaxation that it has to offer. We really appreciate the feedback, and I'd love to address some of the items you raised. First, I want to clarify that the damage insurance is not actually a requirement - it is an option that guests can choose when booking instead of a refundable security deposit. Most guests do choose it (about 99% of them!) because it is inexpensive and offers great protection in the event of any damage. It is routine to file any damage that is reported by our cleaning team under the previous guest's damage policy, as often damage occurs even without guests' knowledge. However, it sounds like we didn't communicate about this issue as we should have, and we sincerely apologize for that. I chatted with our guest care team about your after hours call, and I learned that our on-call employee that night was going to call you back, but your message that it wasn't urgent and that a call back the next day would be fine. I checked your call logs and did see that we returned your call promptly the following morning. We always try not to bother our guests late at night unless absolutely necessary, so we don't disrupt your vacation or wake you up when you're trying to sleep! We do require names for all guests, and the request for contact information is only so that in the event that you are unreachable and there is an urgent need, we can reach someone from the group. We ask for vehicle information so that if we need to verify that only authorized guests are on property, we can do so without having to intrude on your vacation. I'm happy to hear that our guest care team was flexible and willing to adjust the requirements according to your comfort level. I hope my clarifying comments were helpful! Thanks again for staying with us and I'm very glad that the overall experience was positive. Very best, Mysty Mountain Properties

Beautiful Location and Helpful Property Management.

  • 4 of 5

Birthday weekend get away with 10 friends. The place is really beautiful and well maintained and the property management is super helpful and quick to respond to any questions. There are a few things I would have liked to have known before booking however. First, quiet hours are from 10:30pm-8:30a and although this seems reasonable the neighbors are RIGHT next door to the hot tub. The place has a very private feel, but is deceptive as the tree line hides the neighbors. It made it very stressful to be in the hot tub or around the fire pit past quiet hours in fear that just talking or playing music could be too loud and result in immediate eviction, as posted all throughout the house. Secondly, some of the rooms are much smaller than the pictures lead you to believe and very awkward for a large group of adults. We did not need all the beds, but if you did have 18 people you would be very cramped as there are actually only beds for 14. For the most part you are also sharing one bathroom, since the second is only accessible through the master bedroom. Lastly, there were a few puzzles, but make sure to bring your own games as there are none at this location. All that being said though it's a nice place for the right gathering and people.

Owner's Response: Hello Stephanie and thanks so much for your detailed review! We are delighted that you enjoyed the property and you found our property management services to be responsive and helpful, as we always strive to be. Just to address some things you mentioned in your review - we make our photos as accurate to the actual property as possible, and also include the property square footage so there is no confusion about the size of the home. I'm so sorry to hear that you were stressed out by the presence of neighboring homes, but luckily these homes are inhabited part time at most we have never once experienced a noise complaint from a neighbor in all the years we have managed Money Creek Lodge. As you mentioned, the treeline does prevent any sightlines from neighbors to the property, so our guests find Money Creek Lodge to be a private and enjoyable mountain escape. There are beds for 18 in the home when you include the 2 high quality queen-sized aerobeds available for complimentary guest use, and since many folks do want to squeeze in and get cozy with friends and family, we are happy to permit up to 18 to stay in the property due to popular demand. We will certainly recommend to the homeowner that he purchase some games for guest use - that is a great idea! We so appreciate you choosing Mysty Mountain Properties and Money Creek Lodge for your North Cascades getaway, and we hope to have you back to stay again soon! Very best, Mysty Mountain Properties
