Quaint cabin within walking distance of DuPont

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I rented this cabin so we could partake of the hiking and mountain biking in DuPont National Forest. The cabin was well equipped with linens, cookware, etc and other necessities. Photos are spot-on of what you'll find and the cabin was immaculately clean when we arrived.

Owners were extremely accommodating for a last-minute request and were friendly. Very easy transaction and follow-up with directions, key information, etc.

The cabin did not have Wi-Fi or cell phone reception, which was not an issue for us as we wanted to 'unplug' for the trip.

We'd highly recommend hitting up Hendersonville for some great main street shopping and dining. Our favorites were Moe's BBQ and West First Wood Fired pizza.

Labor Day Weekend at the Bluebird Cabin.

  • 5 of 5

We rented this cabin because we could also board our horses at the barn 2 driveways down.

Bluebird cabin was so nice, clean, romantic, homey. We loved the décor, had all the conveniences of home. The weather was so perfect we hung out on the wrap around porch most of the time. The view of Dupont State Forest across the street. We spent 3 days riding horses, mtn. biking, hiking, and fishing. Close to Brevard to do a little shopping. Took in the Apple Festival in Hendersonville 30 minutes down the road. Mary is super to work with; we will always stay on one of her properties. Very pleased with our family stay there.

Great getaway

  • 5 of 5

Bluebird Cabin was ideal for my wife, dog and I. We loved the convenient location. We were on the trails to several waterfalls within five minutes. We attended the Brevard Music Festival and were able to be in our seats in less than 30 minutes. It's also about 35 minutes to downtown Asheville. The location is quiet, with little traffic on the in front of the cabin.

The cabin was clean, well-maintained and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. Although we didn't use them, having a washer and dryer available is a great feature. The lack of Wi-Fi was good and bad. I wasn't constantly on the Web checking on stuff. On the other hand, I couldn't check on a couple of things I wanted to. My wireless provider (Sprint) had no signal most of the time (If the wind was right, I would get a signal long enough to get email.)

Mary was easy to work with and responded quickly and accurately in all our communications. The listing is accurate and up to date.

If you go to Brevard, check out Quixote restaurant. It's a Mexican restaurant that is NOT Tex-Mex. It was go good we went twice. It's located at 20 McLean Rd, just off Hendersonville, Highway opposite the entrance to Ingle's Market.

I would definitely recommend Bluebird Cabin if you are looking for a rental in the Hendersonville/Brevard area.

Cozy, Clean, Comfortable, and a Haven for Mountain Bikers

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I stayed at this cabin for the weekend. It was beautifully furnished which made you feel like a true mountaineer. We cooked chicken on the grill, ate dinner on the wrap-around porch and relaxed as the rain on the metal roof made such a calming sound!

Most exciting to us as mountain bikers, it within 5 minutes to at least 4 trailheads into Dupont State Forest and no more than 20 minutes from the farthest. All the trails were so close we could go for a ride, come back to the cabin for lunch, and go back to ride after. Also, the owners of the cabin give you a handy legend showing the better places to ride with less hikers(much appreciated by bikers). Lastly, when driving up the road heading up the mountain going to the cabin, you drive right by the construction of Red Bulls new dirt jumping course so we will be going back once that is completed.

The cabin was cozy and romantic, the beds are comfortable, the kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook, the water pressure is good, the unique hand crafted wood furniture is beautiful and my dog loved just looking off the porch down the mountain.

Needless to say, we will be back :)
