A perfect place to stay when visiting Baxter State Park. Michelle is very friendly and helpful. The house is cozy and very clean. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.
My wife and I stayed here while hiking Baxter State Park. The house was easy to adjust to. Two things stood out. The house has an amazing Mud Room. Great bench to remove shoes and store equipment. Second, the huge fan that pulls all the air out of the house. This is like a jet engine! All the curtains are standing out and the air is flowing inside in a rush. Kept us cool and was excellent white noise for the concessional auto going by. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area.
Nice little affordable house right on the road to Katahdin - just what we wanted - so that we could quickly get to the gate, secure our parking spot, and start our hike to the summit.
This small house is spotless with three bedrooms - comfy beds, blankets, linens and pillows. The kitchen has all of the amenities you could need - and nicely organized. Ceiling fans in every room keep the home comfortable in hot weather. We didn't spend much time in the living room because we were out and about - or in bed - but it was clean and well-appointed. TVs in every bedroom and living room - but we never turned them on with the big outdoors nearby. Two sinks in the bathroom help getting ready at bedtime and in the morning. Plenty of cozy towels for showering tired bodies.
Michelle was very responsive to the questions we had. She had a nice display of places to go for dinner, too. We found a great place with a view of Millinocket Lake - River Driver's restaurant - at the New England Outdoor Center. We rented kayaks there, too!
I hope we can come back to Millinockett in the future to hike other trails in Baxter. We would love to stay here again.
My family of 4 stayed at the Lake Road House because we had a wedding in Millinocket. The house was just about 10 minutes away from New England Outdoor Center and close to area grocery stores, shopping, etc. I loved the big roomy kitchen and comfortable living room to relax in with my family. The beds were comfy and the entire house was clean and welcoming. Would definitely recommend staying there if you're looking to stay in the area!
