My stay here was spectacular! We spent gorgeous days just relaxing and talking and chilling on the balcony. The beach is the prettiest beach in the world. Thank you Darin!

Amazing place

Great place for a vacation if you’re not into a noisy nightlife type of thing. It’s our second time renting this villa. Hoping for many more trips.

Great place to stay if you want to relax.

Great location, the most beautiful beach we’ve ever seen. Beautiful white sand and gin clear water. Great communication with host.

GHC beach villa

Love this villa. Have stayed in a few in the same location and this one was by far the best. Amazing views, clean, comfortable, chic with all the amenities needed for a beach location. Can’t wait to come back and stay.

GHC on GHC 2025

Place is fantastic. Great location and accommodations. The grill gas tank needed to be replaced and Wally came out with in hours and took care of that which was great. The beach chairs were unusable sadly. Would b great if they could provide new ones. Other than that everything was excellent

BEST vacation we have EVER had!!

We really liked the place the moment we saw it on line, once we got there, we fell in love with it! The breath taking view, the beautiful blue water, and the white sand were all unbelievable! Darin was very attentive to all my requests , he even got us a coffee grinder to use with the existing french press! He answered all of my questions and was very attentive! The beach is perfect to run on and you may pass another person if you are lucky! We already booked a return trip for next year! Thanks for all the memories!

Wonderful Beach Vacation

GHC and the Beach Villas exceeded our expectations. The location is phenomenal. Hospitality is above and beyond. CONS of property: - property is a bit more dated than the pics show - lots of “junk” in cabinets - one toilet was on the fritz - beach chairs were broken (except two) - kayaks were not sea worthy But with a solid cleaning this place could be the best vacation spot ever. PROS - comfy beds - literally on the beach- location makes up for any shortcomings on the property - Christine/Wally are very helpful - away from hustle and bustle- so private and only saw a handful of people on the beach. - gorgeous beach with soft sand and beautiful water

Easter 2023 Family Holiday

Excellent time! The apartment was in great shape, lots of amenities.. towels, sheets, soaps, cooking supplies, spices etc.. Barbeque worked great. The location is amazing, on a beautiful mostly deserted beach. Airport is across the street, a beach bar down the beach. The wrap around porch worked great for a bbq and hammock. Communication with Host and the housekeeper was quick and easy. Only comment is there is no umbrella for outside lunch table and kayak was not "seaworthy". Other than that we are planning our next trip back there!

Great Vacation

My wife and I spent 11 days in this well-equipped villa on Great Harbour Cay. The unit is very much as advertised. It is very close to one of the nicest beaches that you will find anywhere in the Bahamas or the Caribbean. The villa's master bedroom has two very comfortable queen size beds, with another queen size bed in the loft over the kitchen. The deck has a 180 degree view of the water, and it has a great rope hammock and large table and six chairs. The deck also has a very clean barbecue grill. The two full baths are very clean and the kitchen, though small, is fully equipped. This is a great place to stay for a couple or a family with small children.

We were genuinely shocked and disappointed by this property. The location was good and the beach was stunning however the property itself was not worth the money. The walls were cracking, the areas that were patched were not painted, we had multiple issues with roaches and my husband spent the evening killing the termites that were crawling above the bed. There was only one TV upstairs and it didn’t work properly. The bathroom was not properly cleaned, only one light in the kitchen worked. Some of the dishes were dirty and sticky and when I pulled the frying pan out to make breakfast I found that it was dirty, in the drawer. There seems to be mold on the walls that shared with the unit beside it. The furniture was old and worn, far from “chic”. This may have been a nice unit years ago but it has fallen in to great disrepair and was a total disappointment. The owners need to do better.

Beautiful Beach!

WOW! One of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen and it is right outside the condo! We grabbed some groceries in the Village and the kitchen had everything we needed to make a few meals there. We also walked to the Beach Club which is a great restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Darin had just gotten new bikes so we rode those down to Shark Creek one morning and found some sand dollars and enjoyed walking the flats. Wally & Christine were so friendly and super helpful. Wally brought us some snorkel gear and Christine gave us a ride to the airport on our departure day. Great Harbour Cay is off the beaten path and that is the best part. The few people we encountered were helpful and friendly and we mostly had the beach to ourselves! Magical spot!

We arrived to the property at 6 o’clock, the instructions were that the front door was unlocked. When we got there, the front door was locked and we were stuck outside for over an hour and a half waiting for somebody to come. The property manager was answering the phone and claiming that somebody’s gonna come every five minutes, nobody came for a long time and when they did come, it was just some kind of maintenance guy that knew nothing about the property. When we got in the property was missing a lot of stuff, many broken items like the cutting board, and barbecue. There were roaches, mouse traps, and mouse feces everywhere. .

I am sorry that the visit was unsatisfactory to you. The property was booked last minute and as I was traveling at the time I didn’t see the booking come through. You did not provide any details about your arrival time so by 6pm when you arrived, everyone was already offsite with the property securely locked. Our property manager was in church when you arrived, so we asked the handyman to drive over to let you in. We have not received notice of broken items in the house or of rodents or cockroaches, but of course we will make sure everything is clean.

Beautiful

We had a bit of a rocky start because communication with the owner was a little difficult before we came (but granted, I had a lot of questions) and he hadn’t communicated to the manager that we needed a baby crib, which made for a tough first night. However, on the day after the crib was found and we went on to have one of the best vacations of our life, hands down. I agree with the other reviewer that the place could do with a thorough cleanup, but it is furnished with taste and quality and love and has everything you need for an amazing beach vacation. The housekeeper was lovely and very helpful and responsive. If you are going, just confirm details like the baby bed with her directly, and it will be fine. And as for the rest - it’s a truly magical place and hard to put into words. The beauty of the beach that is right in front of you, the lovely hammock, the comfy beds, the friendly people on the island… Thank you so much Darin for sharing this amazing spot with us!

Beautiful beaches!

The location and beach of this property can't be beat. Honestly, the most stunning beach, water, sunset you can imagine. However, some things to note: It's not as private as you might think, you have neighbors on either side. Ours happen to be quite nice & friendly. Note, the power goes out nearly everyday (nothing the owner can do, just go with it) and we have a circuit breaker issue. You won't really be able to get cell service to make local calls for dinner reservations, etc. We didn't have access to the bikes, the kayaks or the umbrella on the porch- all were broken and unusable which was a shame. The broken umbrella was unfortunate, as we wanted the shade from the sun during the day. There are plenty of beach games to use, beach towels and linens. The villa was clean and perfectly fine for 4 people. Christine was very nice & helpful with our rental car and taking us to the little market. We were fortunate to see a lot of wildlife that added to our adventure. The island of Great Harbour Cay is beautiful with very friendly people, just a few disappointments with ammenities. Overall, a good trip.

Great location and comfortable unit

This was our third visit to Great Harbour Cay. We have stayed at a different unit each time so can offer some comparisons. The Island is beautiful and quiet. The beach is outstanding and usually pretty empty. The Beach Villas have a great location close to the airport and the Beach Club. This specific unit is beachfront and the deck has a beautiful view of the ocean. Hard to beat location-wise! The island is lovely and the locals are very friendly. The unit was overall quite comfortable, with good quality beds + linens, plenty of beach towels, 3 beach chairs, umbrellas and plenty of cooking essentials. A few things could be improved… The kitchen needs a bit of maintenance, as some of the drawers seem to be on the verge of falling apart. The unit does not have a dishwasher, and some of the utensils/dishes were not well washed. The A/C on the main living area had a really hard time cooling down the unit. After 2 days of continuous running, the unit cooled down enough, but our first day, the temperature was in the mid 80s inside even with air at full blast. Overall, we had a great time and the unit served its purpose quite well. The location, great deck, and comfortable beds delivered the key elements of a great family weekend.
