Amazingly close to the ocean. No sweating by the time you're settled in on the beach. Over 2500 sq.ft, in residential section, but 500 feet from beach! Main part of home built in 1898. 3 bedrooms with king beds, and an additional bunk bed room; all rooms have HD flat screen TVs. 2 full baths. Fully equipped kitchen with all new appliances including dishwasher; multi-windowed breakfast nook, dining room seats 10 comfortably, rec room upstairs including kitchenette with microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker and blender. 24 hr ice w/n easy walking. Ocean view from upstairs bedroom, can hear the beach in front yard. Two screened-in porches with mini-fridges and furniture. Security system. Parking for up to 5 vehicles. Games and some beach equipment. Flat-screen TVs in 2 living areas and all bedrooms, DVD players in upstairs rec room and 3 bedrooms. Sleeps 12 on beds and pull out sofa. Also available are a twin rollaway bed, 2 twin cots, and a full size air mattress allowing you to sleep 16 comfortably. Plenty of space for 12 + people.

About Mary Jo Weaver

Frank and Paula Fox (Teamfox) hail from Lebanon, TN. We honeymooned in Savannah in 2004 and bought 2 condos in the Historic District. With bad knees and stairs to climb, and the fact that we came to the beach every day that we could while in Savannah, we ended up purchasing 'Foxhaven' at 3 Jones Avenue. Our home in Lebanon was built in 1906 so we have very little fear of tackling the renovation and upgrading of this home built in 1898. We love to travel and we've tried to include all the amenities that we would look for ourselves. We can't believe we are so close to the beach! Frank loves surf-fishing and flew his first kite on Tybee's beach. Paula loves the ocean and kite-flying and wave watching. . . and turning old houses into enjoyable homes. They have two grown children. Their son will be married on the beach, 6/7/2015. And the wedding party will stay. . . .at FOXHAVEN until they boot us out for their honeymoon! Their daughter is an event planner (go figure) and is thrilled to add FOXHAVEN to her event venues. So book early and often, we'll be filling up quickly. We believe in angels and the efforts that 'they' have made to ensure that FOXHAVEN becomes a reality for many to enjoy through the years.

Why Mary Jo Weaver chose Coastal

Teamfox was 'just looking'. We had recently sold condos in Savannah because of high association dues, traffic, etc. There were no plans to add another property for some time. 'Just looking' we passed the 3 Jones Avenue listing that our wonderful real estate agent, Lyn McCuen, Coldwell Bankers, gave us, we pretty much kept on driving. We said 'too much of a fixer-upper. we already have an old house'. Then . . . .we took the right turn onto Solomon and there was the access to the BEACH. We stopped in the middle of the road with our mouths open. And we prayed that if this was in any way possible, we would try to make it a reality. Well, the stars lined up and the angel army has gone to work and . . . . .we'd like to welcome you to FOXHAVEN. A lazy, crafty get-away to the beach.

What makes this house unique

SOoooooo VERY close to the beach. Screened in porches with furniture and mini-fridges (no need to go inside for another beverage). LOTS of room. Two of the bedrooms are large with a full rec/bonus room upstairs with internet, wifi, HD flat screen TV, microwave, mini-fridge, blender and coffee maker. A game table upstairs can be quickly assembled and games are available. Frank believes in king-sized beds, so they are in all the bedrooms. The dining room seats 10 and there is a crock pot and roasting pan for a family dinner if eating out becomes a hassle. The large laundry room with full-sized washer and dryer allow you to keep it all clean and dry. Each bedroom will have a laundry basket and clothes rack available, AND there is a 'dressing area' downstairs between two bedrooms, bath, and laundry. This area has mirrored medicine cabinet for primping, so one can get ready while others are sleeping or bathing. There are hair dryers in both bathrooms (with adequate lighting for makeup, etc) and iron and ironing board (but our humidity makes them a rarely needed commodity) in the laundry room. The porches, a 4-burner gas grill, and rather large lot make life outside as much fun as indoors, in case there are those who aren't totally in love with the nearby (really!) beach. We are pet friendly with an extra deposit and prior approval. FOXHAVEN is on the 'shuttle route' so you can probably flag a ride if you need to run into town. Certainly you can call them to come for you. There is trash pick up and an on-call handyman for minor emergencies. Please. . .book early and often. You'll be pleased with the experience.

  • All bedrooms have windows, flat screen HDTVs, wifi access, chest of drawers, mirror. Both downstairs king bedrooms have door lock. Bunk bed room is separated by swinging saloon style 1/2 doors so it only offers limited privacy. All rooms have laundry baskets and underbed storage. a/c & heat. Linens provided, Some extra linens left in residence, but washer is available if needed. Master Bedroom (upstairs) also has trundle bed and room for playpen or crib if needed for little ones.

Notes:
Location is quiet, residential, but less than a block from beach; in the other direction: bar, grill, convenience and package store, pharmacy, laundromat (if necessary), ice cream shoppe, beach supply shop, and Tybee 'shuttle' runs most of the time, especially weekends. Then. . . .there's Historic Savannah, 15 minutes away, with tours, dining, museums, shopping, theatre, etc.

Charming Beach Shack Close to Beach

Great for a low-key getaway, especially with small kids. 3-minute walk to the beach, fully equipped kitchen, great outdoor shower, tv/cable in almost every room. Two screened in porches were a nice, cool, bug-free spot to wind down at the end of the day. Plenty of good dining spots on/around the island. AJ's was the best of the ones we tried, but the seafood restaurant and ice cream shack around the corner were great too. Mattresses had you looking forward to your home bed by the end of the trip. If 30A and Gucci loafers are your scene, Tybee isn't for you, but if you're looking for a relatively cheap way to get a bunch of people to a nice, family beach that's not crowded, you'll love it.

Great place to stay with a Girl Scout troop of 16!

This house had a great layout for a large group. We had a lot of rain and never felt cramped in the house with an entire girl scout troop. The girls loved the porches and the backyard, and the convenience of walking to the beach. They also loved the Sugar Shack being just down the road for rainy day ice cream!

Close to the beach!

Girl Scout trip with 9 girls and 4 adults and we had plenty of room and the girls all wanted to move into the house permanently. The outdoor shower could be used as a fourth shower or just to rinse off beach sand.

Beautiful house. Plenty of space. Perfect location!!!

Foxhaven is perfect. We had a party of 6 adults and 1 infant. The location was perfect. They had plenty of recommendations for food and fun. We loved being able to walk a short distance to the beach. The house and property was very clean. The outdoor spaces were so comfortable at night to sit, have a drink, and relax. We can not wait to come back next year!!!
