Located just 90 Miles From NYC in the Hudson Valley. 2022 renovated picturesque 100 yr old Victorian country estate is surrounded by a breathtaking lake & mountain view.

At Stissing Lake House, the heart of your magical retreat is an awe-inspiring view – an uninterrupted panorama of majestic mountains and the tranquil lake that will leave you spellbound.

Echoes of musical history fill the air as you stroll through the same spaces where the legendary composer Jerry Herman crafted the score for Hello, Dolly!

This historic country home, adorned with cherished family heirlooms, boasts a fabulous professional chefs kitchen with any tool you might want, all while offering a view that’s positively addicting.

In 2022, we gave our beloved property a fresh makeover, with 36 new windows, updated appliances, and stylish bedding and drapes, ensuring your stay is as cozy as it is picturesque.

Stissing Lake House features a 6-bedroom, 4.5-bath main house with a jaw-dropping lake and mountain view. Plus, for those who can’t miss a beat while working remotely, we’ve got blazing fast 400 mb mesh wifi.

With room for 14 guests in the main house (plus crib), here’s a glimpse of our bedroom setup:

🛏️ 2nd floor:

• Master bedroom: 19th Century Parisian Rococo by George Guerin carved walnut KING BED, fireplace & sitting area, ensuite bathroom with double clawfoot Marie Antoinette bathtub and separate double marble steam shower, Toto toilet and bidet with view of the lake
• Pink room: 19th Century French Louis XIV Rosewood double bed, and view of grounds
• Peach room: 18th century period American Cannonball four-poster spindle bed
• Green hall marble bathroom with shower & tub with view of sunken garden. Antique French silver faucet

🛏️ 3rd floor:

• Blue bedroom: Antique spindle queen bed, skylight, ensuite bath with clawfoot tub & hand shower
• Yellow bedroom: 19th century wrought iron queen bed & infant crib, ensuite bath with shower and skylight and view of the lake
• Green bunk room: Set of bunk beds (double bottom, single upper), trundle single and a loft bed for the agile explorer.

125 acre swimming lake (motorized boats not allowed), breathtaking view, acres of green grass dotted with 100 year old sugar maple and oak trees!

Rental package includes use of bikes, fire pit, gigantic 37' Weber Kettle grill, boats lots of boats which can include kayaks, canoe, paddleboard.

Fully stocked fabulous restaurant kitchen with 6 burner Jade Range, 24" grill, two ovens, incredible selection of cookware, appliances galore including vitaprep, slow cooker, pancake griddle, coffee maker, microwave, and more!

The property is equipped with googl mesh network and outdoor WiFi is also provided. We’ve taken great pains to provide the best internet experience possible in our location.

We have two separate services that create a whole property 400 mbs WiFi system - the highest available in the area.

Stissing Lake offers an ideal place to relax, lots of room to roam and indulge in the magic of nature. Enjoy spring blossoms, summer fun in the water or the gorgeous fall foliage. Hike Stissing Mountain, picnic on the lawn, kayak or paddle boat around Stissing Lake, swim without the distraction of motorized boats, fish for Bass, watch the swans and turtles on the lake or birdwatch at Thomson Nature Preserve. Hudson Valley is home to artisan distillers, breweries, dairies, farmers markets, historic mansion tours, horseback riding, antiquing, and much more!

Trains from NYC, Amtrak to Rhinebeck (25 mins away) and less expensive Metro North to Poughkeepsie (45 mins away) and Wassiac (which is the closest about 20 minutes away).

Once at the house it's quite easy to get around town walking or by bike. A car would allow exploring the Hudson Valley.

We are very selective of who we rent to and have minimum stay of one week. We welcome monthly rentals.

We provide all bedding and towels, initial roll of paper towels and toilet paper as well as shampoo & soap.

We have a strict NO PETS policy. My children are allergic.

DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS:
At this time we do not offer a senior or military discount but do over discounts for stays of one month or longer. Deep discount for 6 months.

ARE WEDDINGS, EVENTS, MOVIE LOCATION PERMITTED:
Please be advised that hosting events or conducting commercial filming on the property requires prior permission from the host. We do NOT host weddings or large events greater than 30 guests on property. Events carry an additional fee and require event insurance. No guests outside of your reservation are permitted on the premises during your booking as per Airbnb guidelines.

WHAT IS THE CLOSET STORE:
In town (a mile from the property) you will find a delightful country grocery store called Pecks with a decent selection of local produce, meats and dairy. There is also a local pharmacy, wine shop, and bank in town. All have “country hours” so please check before you go .

With breathtaking views, our little slice of heaven, provides refuge from the rest of life. Enjoy a glass of rose on the porch or swimming dock at dusk to start unwinding. Lie in the hammock, hike Stissing Mountain or the Thompson pond nature reserve, and ride a bike around the lake.

Our property is the perfect venue for an intimate birthday, wedding anniversary or family reunion. We do not host weddings on our property but are happy to host the wedding family.

The Hudson Valley is a fabulous region to explore and we are happy to help you organize hiking trips, antiquing excursions, and/or horseback riding all close by.
