The home itself is comfortable, well stocked and private. Relax on the shaded lanai and begin every day watching the sun rise over Waianae mountain range while balmy trade winds breeze by; relax in the evening as the sun sets majestically over the stunning pacific ocean. Great location very quite and beautiful view and patio area!

  • 4 of 5

I have been coming to the west side for a long time and this place stacks up very

nicely. Good location, we were in the down stairs unit, kitchen was good although

there were people upstairs did not hear much noise. The yard is a nice area to relax

and we had a great dinner on the lanai with the big picnic table. Everything worked out quite

well. Air conditioning in the small bedroom made to much noise to use, (unit needs

replacement). All in all I will recommend to friends and family. Dr.R

Great Place

  • 5 of 5

Very nice 2 bedroom bottom half of house. We loved the fact that we could sit on the lanai, and watch the waves roll in. The kitchen was pretty well stocked, and the Jack and Jill bathroom even had soap and shampoo provided which is not common in a rental home. There were bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths, dish towels, dish clothes. The shower was very nice, although took a while to warm up. Everything was clean and well kept. The Wi-Fi worked great! We didn't turn on the TV, but it was a nice size. The dining room table seated 4, and there were some really nice chairs on the lanai (where we spent most of our time). There were enough pots and pans to make a decent meal, and enough dishes to serve it. Nice double door refrigerator, no dishwasher (except me), nice travertine floor in the kitchen, nice laminate flooring in the bedrooms, and beautiful coral on the lanai.

We loved Tess, who told us about some great beaches, and some other things to do. Cooper (the dog) and Tora (the cat) were fun too!

The parking is OK, lots of room, but with 4 vehicles, you had to leave room for the other people to get out, it worked just fine for us.

The location was perfect for us, about 5 miles from friends, short drive to nice beaches, grocery store, and some moderate shopping (no malls). Restaurants within a short distance also.

Would we stay again? YES!!!

Review from kamaaina's

  • 4 of 5

First, we are really thankful for the late check out we arranged with the owner being that we had business to do. The home was very spacious and was able to comfortably accommodate our family of 5. The 2 a/c in each room was able to cool the whole house. We didn't cook on our short weekend visit but there were enough dishes and cookware. It was nice to have shampoo and conditioner already there. The bedding was clean and smelled fresh from dryer. We stayed in other places that had bedding that smelled like body odor or was musty or had lizard poo. The floor had a little sand but wasn't a big deal. My daughter swept it all up. The back yard had had nice grass and led to a beach. No sand, only sharp rocks but beautiful sunsets. The back door opened up to a lanai with a picnic table and 4 comfy large chairs. The caretaker was really nice and helpful. Loved her dog and the very very fat kitty who was quite the boss and just helped himself to a seat on our laps but lucky we love cats and dogs. There were people upstairs the first night and we could hear them walking back and forth at least until 11:00 pm but other than that, they were not loud or bothered. The house had ample parking and the front yard was nice and grassy with trees so house was cool. Noticed there was an outside shower too. Beaches all over Waianae coast. Worth driving to Kaenaokala point and home is close by

We loved the view and the downstairs unit was very nice but...

  • 3 of 5

The unit is very nice and the view is spectacular. The unit's amenities were all top notch except for the beds. They were uncomfortable and felt cheap. There is a futon in the larger bedroom but, like most futons, it was more of a torture device than anything else.

So, the beds were our first issues but probably would have still given the unit a five star rating even with that. They are just beds after all and even the occasional nice hotel will have beds that are uncomfortable. We got adequate sleep and it was just 3 nights.

The second issue were the bugs. They looked like cockroaches and every drawer you opened in the kitchen resulted in a several bugs running out of sight. The unit manager explained the bug issue to us and that they had just had the unit treated so maybe the bugs are gone now.

Our third and last issue is about the upper unit. Our first night the upper unit was empty. On the second night a big group had moved into the upper unit and they made a lot of noise. We could hear them walking around and talking until very late. It is hard to know if they were just a loud group or if the units just didn't have a very good sound barrier between them. Or maybe they were a loud group AND the units don't have a very good sound barrier between them. Either way we disturbed several times on our last two nights until past 2am.

Those were our only issues. If the beds were better and the bugs gone I would have easily given this review 4 stars. The noise from the upper unit will probably always be an issue but if you are not sensitive to those things then this is a great rental.

Beautiful yard with direct access to tide pools and ocean view.

  • 5 of 5

This is a quasi shared environment with super nice caretaker neighbors. They tried to give us as much space as we desired while still being available. We liked this area most on the island si nice it is where the locals seem to live and is less touristy, although it's.rush hour traffic must be considered.

We are just around the corner from the world famous Makaha surfing beach and for those people with Kieki (children) Pokai Bay is about 1 mile away. It is a calm white sand bay great for snorkeling or just floating away the day. There are local boat tours and folks who would love to teach you how to paddle board or surf. Our local Hawaiian food is easily available at most stores and restaurants. Kapolei is just 15 miles away and offers many fine dining restaurants, a movie complex, Costco, Walmart, and a water park. Don't want to drive to Waikiki? The local bus stops at our doorstep and will take you to the famous Alamoana Shopping center in Honolulu. The wikiwiki buses will take you to Hilo Hatties to find those island treasures to take home. We have many celebrations on our island and most weekends there is something special happening. The drive around the island will surprise you with the various landscapes, from rain forest to pineapple fields, high cloud haloed mountains to white sandy beaches. Every bend is a new surprise.
