Comfortable Home In Quiet Neighborhood, near old port & the sea

Bedrooms 3
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 3 nights

About the property

3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom, 6 Sleeps

A beautiful, comfortable home in a leafy, quiet neighborhood. Enjoy a cup of coffee on the deck in the morning sun or a glass of wine while grilling in the evening. (Or a soak in the small hot tub.)

You will have this three bedroom home all to yourself: large, comfortable bedrooms (air conditioning in all of them); two bathrooms (one with shower, one with clawfoot tub and shower); a big TV room; bright and airy dining room and living room.

Guests also have access to a washer and dryer conveniently located next to the 2 upstairs bedrooms.

Everything is close: In five minutes you can be in the Old Port with it's world class restaurants and shops or on I-295 headed to Freeport. And if you're flying home at the end of your visit you can be at the airport and through security in about 15 minutes.

We own this two-family house, and you will be staying in the unit that is our home, which consists of the top two floors. We have four bedrooms and three bathrooms--you'll have access to everything except our bedroom/bathroom and study. One of your bedrooms has a king and the other two have queens).

High speed internet access is included.

Ours is an old house--and has old house quirks--but we find it comfortable and charming. We hope you do too.

Spacious and private home for a Portland weekend getaway for 3 couples!

  • 5 of 5

The home was very spacious (lots of hangout areas) and at the same time private for the 3 separate bedrooms. We were 3 couples running the Old Port half. Bonus features include: parking, hot tub, smart home speakers throughout, proximity to downtown Portland without the noise, and last but not least, very friendly listing owners Will&Sarah. Thank you for letting us stay! Will&Sarah had kindly pulled up race information on their kitchen computer, changed the front keypad code to something the guests can remember easily, and were fantastic about arranging to retrieve an item one of the guests left behind after check-out. We would all definitely come back to this listing next year’s half marathon if we can!

Comfort of home in charming neighborhood

  • 4 of 5

First impression was that this home seemed "lived-in" with some of owners' personal belongings and wasn't "hotel-clean". But the great natural light, comfortable beds, and charming authentic features of this historic home made us feel glad we didn't choose to stay in a hotel. There were five of us, including three teenagers, and everyone had their own space. Loved the large dining table to play cards and games, and window seat in the same room was spacious and comfortable. The wi-fi is dependable, and there are all the comforts of home including air-conditioning in all bedrooms, hair dryers, lots of plush towels, large washer/dryer, fridge, stove, oven, dishwasher, even Amazon's Alexa! It was nice to be able to park right in front of the house and come home with the porch light on. Suggestions for 5 star rating: better instructions for high tech stove and oven, cleaner refrigerator and oven, air-conditioning on the main level instead of free-standing fan and removing clutter from bedroom drawers and closets to accommodate guests' belongings. I was reluctant to use coffee maker and tea kettle because they were not cleaned. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, appreciated the charming neighborhood and found owners to be warm and attentive when we reached out to them.

Owner's Response: Thanks Jean--your family was a great group to host at our house and we'd love to have you back anytime. That's excellent feedback on the coffee and tea set and fridge--we will update our list for the cleaning crew to check on these things between guests and I'm super sorry they weren't up to our normal standards for your stay. There is a complete manual for the induction cooktop and oven on the kitchen counter but we can make it a little more obvious for folks who are looking for some additional instruction. There is air conditioning in all the bedrooms, including the bedroom on the main level and we find that open windows and some fans will keep the main living rooms pleasant on all but the hottest days. Thanks again Jean--for staying with us and the super helpful feedback.

A wonderful golf trip!

  • 5 of 5

We had a very enjoyable time. Will was great to work with. The house is spread out, but in a fun way. There was plenty of room. The neighbors saw 6 guys and immediately told us to keep the noise down, but it was never a problem. The house is set up so the neighbors aren't bothered, as long as you are respectful. We heard several other homes in the immediate are having fun as well. Portland is an 8 minute car ride away, and that's only bc there is traffic and lights to deal with. We

Play three golf courses in the area and all of them were very nice. We will be back!!

Centrally Located, Uniquely Comfortable

  • 5 of 5

It's a cool, old home with loads of character, and a funky layout (in a good way) with some fun treats (killer audio setup throughout). Great amenities, easy to enjoy. Owners were very communicative, friendly and helpful.
