About Larry & Shelly Johnson
My husband and I have been in education business for the past 30 years Larry was an administrator and served as a teacher/principal/vice principal and had the top job as a superintendent at the end of his career. He is now retired but keeps himself busy selling real estate for the Jelmberg team out of Sun City Shadow Hills and is substitute teaching for the high school/middle school population in Palm Desert, Indio, and La Quinta schools. He is also taking on the challenge of traveling to Asia and volunteering his time in Thailand teaching the students there. I continue to teach physical education up in Washington state and coach volleyball and have for the past 29 years. I continue to have hobbies that include golf and horseback riding and love my dogs Layla and Elvis and Lucy & my two Quarter horses Ziggy & Flicka. Our Family includes our two adult daughters Leia & Kelli, son in-laws Matt & Shawn and our 4 grandchildren Hailey, Bode, Brynna & Jeslyn.

This property is one of the best in the Indian Palms community. Outstanding view. Our backyard view runs across 2 fairways and the driving range. We have lived in the Indian Palms country club community for the past 20 years. We spent many years with Larry's dad, Rudy Johnson who owned a home on Hepburn drive for years until he passed away several years ago. Since then we have enjoyed staying in his house with his widow, Emily. Two years ago we decided to purchase our own home and love to visit and stay here. Our property is located on the ninth fairway of the Royal course. It has the benefit of having a big beautiful backyard with a saltwater lap pool and a spa. The pool lights up at night and is quite a sight when you are sitting out on the deck enjoying the view. It also has a great view during the day as you have the benefit of seeing across two fairways and the driving range to the other side of the community. It also is unique in that it has a Southwest theme throughout the home with stucco and Hispanic extras here and there. We enjoy a courtyard with a fountain when you enter the property and it's a nice private place to sit out in the morning and drink fresh squeezed orange juice. We think it's reasonably priced when looking at the other listings. It's especially good during the Coachella Festival because it is located within walking distance of the polo grounds.

Comfortable and cozy
We had a wonderful time in this spacious, well maintained home. Larry was a pleasure to work with.
The back yard is a special little sanctuary with a beautiful pool and lots of seating for company.
The property was clean, well supplied with linens, and a well stocked kitchen.
The master bedroom was huge and I would stay again just for the shower in the master suite.

Excellent home with amazing views
We stayed here for a month and had our friends also visit us during that time. Everyone enjoyed this place. Pool and SPA were great. House is spacious and bedrooms are separated to provide complete privacy. Owners (Larry & Shelly) were very friendly and responsive to our needs from start to finish. Views of the golf course and the mountains from Kitchen, Living room and rear patio were amazing. Only suggestion we had for the owners to see if a half or 3/4 Bath can be added close to the third bedroom. We will definitely return and recommend this place to our friends.
This house suited us perfectly.
This was a great house for us. We have dogs and it has a beautiful yard, fully fenced, with a great view of the golf course. There is a dog door which we greatly appreciated. The house was plenty large enough for the four of us and our dogs. The master bedroom was very large, as was the master bath and the closet. The second bedroom was fine. The second bathroom is attached to the second bedroom and also has a hall entry. The third bedroom is on the other side of the house and does not have a bathroom near it. This wasn't a problem for us because there were only two couples. The kitchen was great for us as we like to cook and there is a nice barbecue outside. We did have a lot of problems heating the pool and spa due to a faulty remote controller. The owner is working on getting this problem fixed. Because of it we did not get to use the pool as much as we would have liked. But it's a great property and we would gladly rent there again next year. I would highly recommend it.
The Palm Springs area has many attractions and activities near by to keep you busy. The college of the desert offers a weekend street fair as does downtown Palm Springs. Some of the best golf courses in the States are located here as is the number one attraction 'The Sun'. Sunbathing and everything that goes along with the beautiful weather is sure to keep you busy. Shopping in the area includes the street fairs, outlet malls, and the well-known 'El Paseo' of Palm Desert is just down the street.
