Since we began visiting Breckenridge, we have always wanted a true ski-in/ski-out home with a high level of privacy and amenities. Our purchase 10 years ago of this Cedars townhouse realized these goals. This unit is a more spacious end unit (a big plus) and has been renovated both inside and out. Inside we have new hardwood flooring, lots of new furniture, new TVs, and a new kitchen with granite countertops. Also in the spring of 2014 we completely renovated all 3 bathrooms. In the summer of 2016, Cedars implemented a new wifi and cable tv system which gave us super fast internet access and improved tv service. Repeat guests will continue to notice numerous upgrades and a high level of attention paid to our townhouse as we are regular users of it as well.

The living room is warm and cozy but large enough for a large family to relax in and enjoy the gas fireplace and the brand new 42' surround-sound HD TV and sound system. All of the bedrooms are upstairs and are far removed from the active living areas downstairs. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed, the second bedroom has a queen, and the 3rd bedroom has bunk beds (futon/full-size on bottom, single on top) and a twin. All bedrooms have TVs. The living room also has a comfortable fold-out couch that can sleep two. The master bedroom has views from the room or outside deck that are spectacular. There is a two-car garage that also serves as a place to keep your skis or bicycles.

Perhaps the best feature of this townhouse is the fact that in less than a minute after walking out the door you are putting your skis on and skiing down (about 50 yards) to the Quicksilver chairlift. (Cedars Townhomes are on the trail next to the Quicksilver lift.) This proximity truly makes skiing hassle-free and allows you to easily ski home for a relaxing lunch and avoid the high-priced and hectic mountain restaurants. The Quicksilver lift is also a base area with several restaurants, a lift ticket office and the ski school.

If mountain views are important to you then you should know that our townhouse, because of its location on the mountain has the best views of any Cedars unit. If spending time in town is something that you like to do, our home is a short (maybe four to five minute) walk to Main Street and the Village base area. Also, all Cedars guests have access to the Upper Village pool and hot tubs located just down the street. This facility has just been completely rebuilt and is amazing. A link to the Upper Village web site is below. (Let Mike the owner know if you're interested in using the Upper Village pool as a special key card is needed to get in.) And don't forget that your lift ticket is good at Keystone (check out their night skiing), Vail, Beaver Creek, and Arapahoe Basin. For those of you who are not familiar with the Cedars Townhomes, they are regarded as having the best overall location on the mountain because they are both ski-in/ski-out and close to town. Cedars units are now appraised at anywhere between $700,000 and $1,300,000 depending on size and location.

With all of the activities available in warmer weather, our townhouse is a great place to vacation in the summer. It seems that most of the locals say that 'they came to Breckenridge to ski but stayed because of the summers.'

Unlike other listings, you would be renting directly from the owners - not a property management company. This more than likely means lower rental rates!

About Mike Soby

We are a family of skiers/snowboarders that lives on Hilton Head Island, SC. We get to use our townhouse 6 weeks in the winter and spring and even longer in the summer. Its hard to say which season we like better. Mike is now retired and Beth has a dog and house-sitting service. Our kids (Elizabeth and Michael) are out of college now and live and work in the Denver area. We have owned this townhouse since early 2005 and it has proven to be the best purchase we have ever made!

Excellent location and beautiful place!!!!

This was the first time we stayed at the Cedars, it was very roomy and the kitchen was nicely equipped. The bathrooms were redone beautifully. This was our 9th year in breck and this location was by far the best. Lifts were a short walk and dining was a few blocks away. Would definitely stay in this unit again. The owners were wonderful in accommodating our arrival and departure times. Just a pleasant vacation.

Really enjoyed our stay

Perfect location and great accommodations for skiing Breck. Floorplan, amenities and sleeping arrangements worked well for our party of 8. Walk to the lift is 5 minutes and walk to Main street is 10. Was nice to have our vehicles in the garage since we got 17 plus inches of snow while there.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the comments. I do think that the walk to to trail is about 1 minute. Maybe the huge snowfall slowed you down.

Best place we have ever stayed!

Cedars is the best place that we have ever stayed at. It is just a 1 minute walk to the trail and a 5-6 minute walk to Main Street. The home seems to be very well maintained and the new bathrooms were very nice. The kitchen has everything you would want and more. The owners were also very nice to work with. Ski in/Ski out is definitely the way to go. We will be back next year!

Best location! Great house!

We stayed for a week and loved it. The location to the slopes AND to town made this the perfect place to stay. The garage was a big bonus for easy equipment and car storage. The house was well equipped and comfy. We enjoyed the split layout, as it gave us plenty of room and each room felt private. My husband fell in love with the porch overlooking the road because it got the best afternoon sun - great for apres ski! If you run out of bagels, just across the street is the Doubletree cafe and they have wonderful happy hour specials! Thanks for sharing your place!

A Great Time in Breckenridge

Our stay at 42 Cedars was wonderful! Superlatives are overused, but I must say that the home was awesome. It was cozy and inviting, comfortable and well decorated. The supplies were top notch. It indeed was like being at home away from home. The location was convenient to all we wanted to do. It was a short walk to the trail leading up to Sawmill Reservoir, which when hiked led to beautiful views. Likewise, the pond was near, so we could walk there when my grandsons wanted to ride in the “Tumble Bubbles,” which was great fun. Getting into town was also but a short walk. The location couldn’t have been better. We also enjoyed using the pools and the hot tubs. They were wonderfully relaxing. I would highly recommend 42 Cedars to anyone looking for the comforts of home!

Amazing Place!!

Breckenridge is an amazing ski town and this townhouse was spectacular. It was extremely comfortable and well maintained and the Kitchen was very well equiped. Also the owners were were easy to work with and were very flexible regarding check-in and check-out times. You can't ask for a better place! Hopefully my family and I will be back next year.
