This lovely home offers a quiet space for renewal and restoration, with a contemporary decor that is simple, beautiful, and peaceful. And at just $135 a night, why use a hotel? The value for families and groups is excellent.
The living space is ideal for young families, couples, and especially for parents visiting their students at ASU. Chapel Rest is located just ten easy minutes from King Street and all the attractions of downtown Boone, and close to all that the mountains offer - skiing, rafting, zip lining, gem mining, biking, hunting, fishing, and hiking. The home is 2 miles from a major grocery store, 3 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, and 4 miles from downtown Boone.
The main level provides a great dynamic for family gatherings, with an open floor plan that brings kitchen, dining, and relaxing together in a spacious room with vaulted ceilings. Also on the main level is a bathroom with tub and shower, a spacious bedroom with 2 twin beds plus 2 roll-away beds, and a roomy pantry for storage and groceries. The upper level bedroom is beautifully lined with knotty pine and features a superior queen bed and bathroom with shower. The lower level of the home is currently unfurnished with a washer and dryer, but can serve as sleeping or play space.
The home is further complemented by two full decks, a wrap around on the main level and a full front deck on the lower level
Parking, often a problem with a mountain home, is not a problem here; Chapel Rest has parking space for four cars, with easy entrance and exit.
Chapel Rest should be your first choice for a weekend getaway, a one week vacation, or even a long-term stay. Here you will find a spot of peace and beauty to restore your souls and calm your minds.
NOTE: We have given our guests the option of cleaning the home themselves in order to reduce their costs and avoid the customary fee of $100.00, paying only a $25.00 inspection fee. If guests do not wish to clean, then we will use the deposit to pay housekeeping to complete the cleaning.
Guests must be over 25 years of age to rent the home.

We are deeply in love with the mountains, and especially with Boone, NC. Though tied to the Raleigh area through employment and family, like thousands of others, we come to the mountains every possible chance we get.
Paul Daoust & Judith Darling purchased this cabin in 2014
When we first drove onto Brown's Chapel Crest lane and saw this home, our hearts were sold. The view was more than restorative, and the home suited us so well.
Chapel Rest affords an amazing view with easy access. Four wheel drive is NOT needed, not even in the winter. To be so close to downtown Boone, yet so high on the top of the crest is absolutely wonderful.
That's all we kept saying. It felt like we were visiting someone's home. We were actually surprised to find as many items as we did in the kitchen (the spice basket, oven mitts, and aluminum foil!) and we made good use of them. The view is amazing and ... honestly I am at a lost for words. The decorations, furniture choice, the bookshelf filled with games, movies, and of course, books ... we had nothing but good things to say about quality of everything we were given. Most of all, the cabin was worry-free and cozy enough and filled with enough supplies that we simply had fun! There was so much laughing and getting to know each other that the memories we made will be the best inside jokes for years to come. I wish I could write more - but I'm so tired. We played some board games tonight. We argued a lot. If you don't argue during a game you're not playing the game right!
Excellent 2 night stay Very clean. Great communication prior to stay. Beautiful view in a quiet neighborhood. Very well stocked.
Comfy beds, close to Boone, all the conveniences of home made this place a great value.
First and foremost - this review is long-overdue. My husband and I chose October for a purposeful relaxation trip with no plans....except what we decided to do when we got up each morning. We wanted quiet, calm and peaceful; that is what we got! The house itself was perfect.....accurate description, stocked well, comfortable and inviting ambiance with cleanliness second to none. Grocery store is very close and the town of Boone was quite enjoyable. We experienced delicious local fare and were impressed with local artisan shops. We also enjoyed Blowing Rock and a few of the vineyards. We took a couple of day-long trips as well....Chimney Rock and Great Smoky Mountain National Park (2-3 hours driving time).
One of my favorite things during our stay was to be able to quilt even though I was on vacation. I set-up my "temporary" sewing studio in the lower level facing the mountains. I also (significantly) contributed to the local economy at two Boone quilt shops.....both shops equally pleasant yet different in their offerings.
From booking to check-out, Paul and Judith were wonderful to deal with very quick response time to our inquiries. They are very thoughtful hosts.....they've thought of the little details, as well as luxuries, that make you feel right at home. We would definitely recommend this property and would love to stay again. Thank you, Paul and Judith, for a great place to stay for our vacation!!
Great house with beautiful view! Home was close to grocery store and ASU. Will definitely stay again when visiting Boone.
The cabin was warm and inviting and perfect for our family. It was close to town and Hawksnest for tubing and zip lining. The owners were great in communicating with us what we needed. We would highly recommend this to all.
