Luxurious villa, with sea view from elevated position in a quiet location, offering privacy, yet convenient for beaches on the northern coast of Crete. Entrance to the villa is via wrought iron gates with pathway leading up to large terrace and front door with security shutters. The large lounge with high ceilings and open gallery is fully furnished and offers a bed settee for additional sleeping arrangements. The kitchen is beautifully equipped, with many electrical appliances. Bedroom 1 leads off the lounge, has twin beds and fully fitted floor to ceiling wardrobes plus bedside cabinet and doors to the terrace. Next to bedroom 1 are a toilet and shower room. A spiral staircase leads to a large gallery landing with sea views. This landing is equipped with easy chairs and a bed settee and can be converted into a sleeping area. A complete bathroom with W.C. leads off the gallery landing. The master bedroom has a double bed and floor to ceiling wall cupboards. Villa Adonis is available throughout the year. A welcome pack is provided. The outside is a mixture of lawn and paved areas. The pool (35m²) has a children’s pool in one corner. Near the pool is a brick built barbecue. Flowers are automatically watered. All the garden walls have attractive lighting for the evening. The huge parasols offer large shady areas. Full cleaning service with linen and towel changes twice a week. Particular attention has been paid to electrical safety.

One word ... fabulous!

I feel I could have written this review before I arrived at the property such was the quality of the communication, photos and information given by the fabulous owners! Villa Adonis is GREAT and we had a super week there. It is quite possibly the cleanest, freshest smelling villa we have ever rented so our compliments to Nikki who oversees this. The quality of the villa internally and externally is excellent ... the beds, linens and bathroom are superb. It has clearly been well thought out and offers lots of little treats and extras that will make your time there a pleasure. However, it is the outside space that is really special ... a huge lawned garden filled with olive trees, fruit trees that sit alongside perfumed jasmine and hibiscus flowers surrounding two patio areas and the wonderful pool. Our teenagers loved the pool particularly because it was deep and they are tall now but there is a clever baby/toddler pool if you have children that aren't so big! Thank you Vissilis for the superb job you do caring for the pool and grounds. You do have neighbours at the villa but are barely aware of them such is the clever site design. It is a quiet spot down a dirt track where the cicadas are definitely making the most noise! The views of the valley onto the distant sea are lovely and the stars at night a joy to see. The area is great for exploring and we highly recommend that you read the comprehensive information book provided by the owner ... it's brilliant... spot on! We dragged ourselves away from the pool every now and again and we discovered and loved Taverna Eleven (awesome location, delicious food) Rethimno ( rich in history and perfect for exploring, shopping, a swim then dinner as the sun goes down) Spilies beach and taverna (we all fell in love with this little cove ... fantastic swimming but watch the winds though as the sea will be rough on a windy day ... the taverna offers simple well cooked Greek fare just up from the beach ... sandy toes and bottoms welcome!!) All in all it has been the most wonderful holiday where we fell in love with Crete, the Island and the people, and thoroughly enjoyed our time at Villa Adonis which we HIGHLY RECOMMEND ... thank you Monique and Adonis you have created a fabulous property.

Adonis cinq étoiles

Si nous devons évaluer notre séjour, nous accorderons 4 étoiles; si nous devons évaluer la propriété, sa villa ainsi que la gentillesse et la disponibilité des propriétaires nous accorderons cinq étoiles sur cinq. En effet, la préparation de notre arrivée par Monique et ses contacts sur place est impeccable. Aucune remarque négative sur la propriété, la villa, le jardin et la piscine ainsi que ses abords: propres et accueillants. Les voisins sont très discrets. Nous avons savouré le calme de la campagne crétoise, nous qui habitons en pleine ville. L'aménagement de la villa et sa décoration sont soignés; rien ne manque; tout fonctionne correctement. On entre, on est chez soi et on s'installe sur la terrasse, près de la piscine, en savourant le petit blanc crétois offert par nos hôtes. Deux fois par semaine, deux personnes charmantes effectuent l'entretien du jardin, de la piscine et de la villa: un plus sans aucun doute. Pourquoi alors quatre étoiles à notre séjour? Pour des raisons indépendantes des propriétaires. La météo fut très mauvaise durant les cinq premiers jours, ce qui est assez rare en Crète à cette période. Durant les cinq jours suivants, plein soleil et température très agréable mais nous avons été très incommodés par des moustiques particulièrement agressifs. Les propriétaires ne sont bien évidemment pas responsables de cette situation mais ces inconvénients ont malheureusement terni notre séjour. Nous gardons, avec le recul, de notre voyage, de très beaux souvenirs et des images inoubliables. L'accueil que nous avons reçu en Crète et à la Villa Adonis fut savoureux et nous ne manquons pas d'en faire part à nos amis et connaissances.

Tolles Ferienhaus!

Die Villa Adonis ist ein super ausgestattetes, schön gelegenes Ferienhaus mit allem, was dazu gehört. Es ist gut gelegen: sowohl zu den Stränden im Norden und Süden (zu bevorzugen) als auch zu vielen Sehenswürdigkeiten im Hinterland von Rethimno und Heraklion ist es nur ein kurzes Stück. (Ohne Auto geht allerdings nichts.) Im Städtchen Perama an der alten Verbindungsstraße zwischen Rethimno und Heraklion kann man alles Nötige für den Aufenthalt kaufen. Haus, Pool und Grundstück sind sehr gut gepflegt. Der nette englischsprachige Nachbar hat viele Tipps für schöne Lokale und Strände im Umland parat. Die Vermieterin Monique antwortet schnell und hat ebenfalls viele Tipps parat. Rundum zu empfehlen!

Excellentes vacances

Très bons premiers contacts avec Monique, très professionnelle et prévenante. Vassili et Nikki vous accueilleront localement avec gentillesse et un welcome pack. Maison fonctionnelle, bien équipée (manquerait peut-être un four micro-onde) et très bien entretenue. Le ménage est fait deux fois par semaine avec changement du linge de maison, ce qui est très appréciable. Literie récente, ferme et confortable. Jardin verdoyant et fleuri, bercé par le chant des oiseaux. Très belles vue sur les montagnes blanches et magnifiques couchers de soleil sur la baie de Rethymnon. Pour ceux qui comme nous aiment les animaux, la visite journalière des chats des voisins fut un vrai plaisir (gentils et bien élévés). Une très bonne expérience en Crête qui donne envie d’y retourner !

Quiet space for an autumn recharge

Staying in October, we were lucky with the weather (at least until the last 24 hours!), but this was a perfect place to relax. An hour to Heraklion, and only a little more to Charnia, we could explore much of the island without too much time in the car. And two teenage boys enjoyed the pool once we returned. Set in a small development of about ten villas among the olive and citrus groves, this is a peaceful spot. The nearest shops and tavernas are less than 10 minutes away, but it was very helpful that we were met out on the main highway and taken to the villa the first time. The kitchen had what you would need, the beds were comfy and showers up and downstairs prevented any holdups in the morning. The arrival process was smooth, with the local support very friendly and responsive. All in all an easy and relaxing holiday.

Villa Adonis is a stylish and beautiful property.

We are a family of 4 including 2 teenagers and we have just returned from a 2 week stay at Villa Adonis. The house is very stylish and the grounds are private and wonderful with a great sized pool. Every evening we would sit on the terrace and watch the sun go down over the sea. Villa Adonis is really well located for travelling around Crete if you have a car. The beautiful towns of Rethymnon and Chania are very accessible as are some of the best beaches that I have ever seen. We are lucky to have travelled all over the world and have stayed in some amazing places but this ranks as one of the best holidays that we have ever had. My thanks to Domonique for renting her beautiful home to us. She could not have been more helpful and accommodating in making this holiday special.

Hautement recommandable !

Nous avons passé, avec nos deux jeunes enfants, deux semaines formidables dans la villa Adonis. Dès le premier contact, Monique a été à la fois professionnelle et vraiment très sympathique. Les informations données sont précises, complètes et fiables. Les propriétaires ont réellement le souci de bien faire. Nous avons même reçu, six mois avant notre séjour, une carte de voeux manuscrite pour les fêtes de fin d'année, ce qui est une attention rare et délicate. A l'arrivée, rendez-vous est donné avec Adonis ou son frère Vassilis à la station-service située à une dizaine de minutes de la maison, ce qui permet de ne pas se perdre lors du premier trajet car la maison est isolée (il faut absolument une voiture). La maison est tout à fait conforme à la description. Très propre et fonctionnelle. Du beau mobilier de jardin. La literie est confortable. Chose rare : Vassilis et son épouse, charmants, viennent le mercredi et le samedi entretenir le jardin, changer tout le linge (draps et serviettes) et nettoyer les sols, ce qui est rare et appréciable. Ce service est compris dans le prix de la location. Le jardin, ombragé, et la piscine sont très agréables. Un petit coin pour les jeunes enfants dans la piscine. Depuis la terrasse, belle vue au loin sur la mer et, le soir, très beau coucher de soleil. Un ravissement. Tout est réuni pour un séjour reposant ! Sur le plan touristique, la villa est située à une vingtaine de minutes du monastère d'Arkadi. La ville la plus proche est celle de Rethymnon. Chania (plus belle que Rethymnon) est à une heure de route. Les fruits et légumes vendus sur la route, avant la station-service dans laquelle le rendez-vous est donné, sont délicieux et à un prix défiant toute concurrence. Merci et bravo à Monique, Adonis, Vassilis et son épouse ! Nous espérons revenir un jour !

TRES BELLE MAISON AVEC VUE MAGNIFIQUE

trés bon souvenis avec mon mari et mes filles .La maison et superbe la vue aussi surtout le soir au coucher du soleil. Monique et trés professionnel et rapide avec les échanges de mail un lieu extraordinaire pour décompresser.

Nous y retournerons

Très bien accueilli par Adonis qui était très ponctuel au rendez-vous. Très belle situation avec vue sur la mer et les montagnes enneigées. Très beaux couchers de soleil sur la mer. Piscine très agréable. Maison très fonctionnelle. Bonne literie. Très bon restaurant indiqué par Adonis. A noter des manques dans la cuisine : four micro-onde - pot à eau - théière - plateau - moulin à légumes - essoreuse à salade

Heerlijk plekje

We hebben erg genoten van het verblijf in Villa Adonis. Los van een dag regen heerlijk weer, het huisje is super en de tuin prachtig! Fantstisch uitzicht vanaf het terras. Zwembad was nog een beetje koud maar desondanks een paar keer gebruikt. Het is daadwerkelijk zo mooi als op de fotos, alleen de badkamer niet, die is inmiddels verbouwd en is veel beter geworden. Wat ons betreft overwegen we nog een keer. Het gehucht is ook heerlijk rustig, en de kinderen vermaakten zich prima daar. Voor de regio Rethymno is alles op goede afstand om te rijden, ook de zuidkust. Chania was ook goed bereidbaar, maar je hebt uiteraard wel voor alles een auto nodig.

Très bon séjour

Très bon séjour au sein de la Villa. Monique et Adonis sont très serviable et d'une gentillesse. Je recommanderai les yeux fermés cette villa. Elle est tout équipée, serviettes, draps, serviettes de plages, parasols, lave vaisselle, machine à laver ect ... tout y était !!! Excellente vacances

Très bon accueil, linge propre et serviette de plage toujours renouvelés. Cadre très agréable et vue imprenable. Cigales un peu trop présente. Peut être revoir les couchages. Attention cuisine peu fonctionnel car manque d'ustensiles.

Rustig gelegen, comfortabel, mooi uitzicht.

Heel fijne tijd gehad in deze heerlijke wat afgelegen, maar daardoor rustige en privacy biedende villa.Mooi aangelegde ruime tuin en zwembad met comfortabele ligbedden met parasols ,mooie pergola met loungebank en fijn uitzicht richting zee in de verte. Het huis was voorzien van alle gemakken, heel goed met zorg onderhouden en pure luxe is het schoonmaken en de wisseling van beddengoed en de (bad)handdoeken. Een auto heb je wel nodig om de omgeving te verkennen en voor de dagelijkse boodschappen. Wij waren er vroeg in het seizoen en de meeste Griekse tavernes in het "binnenland" waren nog gesloten. Zoals overal heb je ook hier de 'toeristische hapsnap"-restaurantjes. Bv in Bali, aan de noordkust, herkenbaar aan de geplastificeerde menu-flapovers die "uitnodigend" buiten staan en in Margarites BPYEH soort Kebab. Lekker gegeten hebben wij in Stavromenos bij Kehagias, heel gastvrij, zelfs toen we 's avonds laat nog aankwamen en de eigenaar ons begeleidde naar de villa en daarna nog naar dit restaurant. Thallassographica in Rethymnon heeft een prachtig uitzicht, maar kon ook vanwege het seizoenbegin nog niet alles vd menukaart aanbieden. Rethymnon is een heel gezellige stad met veel gezellige restaurantjes en winkels, veel sieraden.Wij hebben verschillende wandeltochten ondernomen; oa naar Mili en Argiroupoli (helaas visrestaurantjes nog dicht)en de Samariakloof excursie.. Was een hele lange dag, de heen en terugreis was langer dan de tocht in de kloof die we in 6 uur hebben gelopen. Was mooi en voor een beetje geoefende wandelaars goed te doen als je met enigszins verende tred met kleine passen afdaalt en daarmee je knieeen wat ontziet. Beetje spierpijn hoort er bij! Wij genoten erg van de prachtige, weidse en groene Amarivallei-autotocht waar we raven, gieren, putters en een wielewaal hebben gespot. Ook de drakentonglelie, en prachtige voorjaarsbloemen.Ook zijn we geweest richting Agi Fontini en in Agonia, het handwerkdorp met het kleine idyllische terrasje en de zwart geklede vrouwtjes. Amaridam was ook mooi. Geweldige natuur, de zee, authentieke dorpjes, het weer, voor ons was er veel te ontdekken, een week was eigenlijk te kort. 's avonds was het buiten nog te koud, maar we hebben boven op de vide van het huis genoten van een prachtig romantisch uitzicht over de lichtjes van vermoedelijk Rethymnon.

"Nous avons été très bien...

"Nous avons été très bien accueillis par Adonis avec une délicate attention à notre arrivée :Bouteille de vin, eau minérale, brioche et pâtisseries locales. De plus notre rendez-vous pour nous conduire à la maison était très explicite et Adonis à l''heure au rendez-vous. Tout était conforme à l''annonce.Très propre :ménage et draps changés 3 fois en 10 jours! Maison spacieuse, très calme et très agréable avec une vue imprenable sur la mer et les montagnes enneigées. Pour l''équipement,un micro-ondes serait le bienvenu. A part ce petit manque la maison était très bien équipée. Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour dans le calme et la beauté du paysage, et recommanderons cette location à nos proches et nos amis. "

"Abbiamo trovato l''alloggio molto confortevole, grazie ad arredamento funzionale, ampi armadi, spazi interni adeguati e cucina e zona giorno ben accessoriati per un soggiorno veramente piacevole. Libri, riviste e film a disposizione degli ospiti sono una gradevole sorpresa, così come il set di benvenuto fornito dai proprietari: acqua vino birra olio frutta pane yogurt...fin dal primo istante ci si gode la casa e la vacanza! Il giardino è meraviglioso! Rigoglioso, curato, zona piscina e barbecue ben accessoriate. Piscina fantastica, con una parte bassa dedicata ai bambini molto utile. Il giardino, su tre livelli, è anche più bello di come appare in foto. Il luogo è calmo e tranquillo. I vicini sono discreti e cordiali, e le piante che circondano il giardino consentono davvero una totale privacy. Il terrazzo affaccia sulla campagna ed ha la vista mare, ed il tramonto la sera è meraviglioso. La posizione, un po'' isolata in campagna, dista circa 10 minuti dallo snodo delle superstrade che costeggiano e attraversano l''isola, sicché l''abbiamo trovata ottima per spostarci nella regione. Il proprietario fornisce molte utili indicazioni su taverne gite negozi etc, ma anche solo prendendo la macchina si scoprono paesini di campagna e montagna veramente belli. Rethymno, bellissima, dista appena 10 minuti. Volendo pensare a delle criticità, è forse perfezionabile la manutenzione dell''alloggio e la cura dei dettagli (es. qualche tapparella che stenta a scendere, il terrazzo non adeguatamente illuminato etc). Si tratta di dettagli, appunto, che nulla tolgono a quanto Villa Adonis offre: un alloggio interno piacevolissimo - non lussuoso, ma molto confortevole; una zona piscina ben attrezzata e circondata da una vegetazione lussureggiante, meravigliosa; tramonti da favola; pace e privacy. La nostra vacanza, di due settimane con due bambini piccoli, è stata caratterizzata dalla quiete e dal relax. La posizione e il contesto sono semplici, e questa semplicità, unita al comfort di alloggio, piscina barbecue etc e alla bellezza del giardino, ha reso la nostra vacanza molto familiare, ma al contempo di lusso! Molto professionali e cordiali i proprietari. Non solo consigliamo Villa Adonis, ma ci torneremmo volentieri! "

"Petite villa très calme,...

"Petite villa très calme, bien équipée, à 5 min en voiture de toutes les commodités. Son atout majeur est un grand jardin très agréable avec une grande piscine + coin pataugeoire, très appréciable pour les enfants en bas âge. Un côté de la piscine est bordé d''arbres pour les amateurs de siestes à l''ombre, l''autre côté est au soleil (avec parasols fournis) pour la bronzette. Avoir une voiture est impératif."

"Monique et Adonis sont très charmants, et d''une aide précieuse. Ils fournissent des réponses aux questions éventuelles avant et pendant le séjour. La maison est très calme dans un cadre de verdure magnifique, avec un joli jardin et une belle piscine. Elle est idéale pour une famille de 4 personnes. Sa situation idéale permet de visiter la région de Rethymnon Il faut une voiture pour se rendre à la plage. Les commerces de proximités sont à 5 minutes."

Superbe villa dans un end...

Superbe villa dans un endroit très calme et idéal lorsque l'on cherche à se reposer. Rethymnon n'est qu'à quelques minutes de voiture. La piscine est très bien même pour un enfant de 3 ans grâce au petit bassin dans l'angle de cette dernière. Endroit parfait pour un séjour en Crète.

Not only the accommodatio...

Not only the accommodation was superb, but also the extra's the owner provided. Lots of info beforehand via mail,a nice surprice gift when we booked, a welcoming package with the first needed groceries, the fact that someone waited for us half way to guide us to the house and who also informed us how everything worked, where the nearest shops were and more very useful info. And the house, the garden and pool, the view, the amenities... we couldn't wish for anything more. We had a wonderful two weeks! And by the way, we did not smell anything from a factory whatsoever, just perhaps the roses in the garden. When we go to Crete again, we know where we will stay! We can recommend this house to anyone!

"maison vaste, confortable, bien aménagée et bien équipée. Belle terrasse et piscine très agréable au milieu d'un jardin arboré. Belle vue sur la baie de rethymnon. Contacts chaleureux avec les propriétaires. Renseignements donnés avant l'arrivée précis et utiles. Accueil sur place très sympathique. Chemin d'accés en mauvais état même s'il reste carrossable. Odeurs provenant des fumées d'une usine située à quelques kilomètres lorsque le vent vient de l'Est."

"Nous avons passés un excellent séjour dans une maison très bien équipée et un superbe jardin et terrasse avec piscine et barbecue. Aucun bruit car un peu éloignée de Rethymnon, il est obligatoire de louer une voiture."
