Property type cabin

About the property

Welcome To Our "Treehouse Cabin"

We say it 'feels like a giant tree house' because it's very open indoor / outdoor style living and located in a private setting that is surrounded by trees. The house is centrally located in Wild Acres, one of Maggie Valley's original mountain neighborhoods. It's been completely redecorated and updated with all conveniences featuring 2 wrap around decks, hot tub, fireplace, BBQ, WiFi, game room plus 3 bedrooms (2 queen / 1 king), 2 full baths and fully equipped kitchen with anything a cook would want... right down to the spices! :) Even better it is within walking distance of our other ‘Buckhorn Cabin’ ( VRBO #899156 ) which is on the same street! This means, between the two cabins, we could accommodate up to 14 people for larger gatherings.

At 3500 ft. elevation, we're located in the heart of beautiful Maggie Valley. Minutes from everything... Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Cataloochee Ski Area, downtown Waynesville, shopping, restaurants and about 30 minutes to Asheville, the Biltmore, Harrah's Casino and much more... like mountain streams, Lake Junaluska, great waterfalls and 19 of the highest peaks east of the Mississippi.

Access is easy for any car or van because the roads are paved and state maintained to within about 100' of our driveway. We have two large parking areas each capable of accommodating two normal size vehicles. That said, we are about halfway up the mountain and there is a short, paved but steeper incline so we don't recommend trailers or motorcycles.

We created it as our vacation home & studio to be a peaceful, inspirational getaway especially for those looking for a place to 'get creative'. We chose Maggie Valley for it's natural beauty, convenient location and great climate. As artists and photographers ourselves, we think this beautiful valley nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains is one of the most beautiful areas in the world!

We want everyone who stays at our mountain home to enjoy it as much as we do and are committed to doing everything we can to make your stay an enjoyable, memorable experience.

Why Gary Walker chose Maggie Valley

We chose our 'Treehouse Cabin' because we wanted a vacation home in the mountains, in a beautiful location, that would be a great creative getaway. We think the Smoky Mountains, and particularly Maggie Valley, offer some of the most beautiful scenery and most pleasant places to visit in the entire country. The climate is great, not too hot, not too cold, the people are friendly and there are so many things to enjoy from scenic mountain drives on the Blue Ridge Parkway, to hiking the Smoky Mountains, to fishing, waterfalls and of course photography and painting. Since we are not their full time we decided to share it with others who want a peaceful getaway in the mountains.

What makes this cabin unique

We fell in love with our home because of the open indoor / outdoor feel of it... as soon as you walk in you feel like you're in giant tree house. The two wraparound decks feature a hot tub, southern style rockers, BBQ grill, hammock, porch swing and outdoor dining area. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, completely equipped kitchen, fireplace, laundry and game room. We're perfectly located, in the heart of Maggie Valley in of its original mountain neighborhoods... close to restaurants, bars, tourist attractions, shopping, golf, Lake Junaluska and much more.

Relaxing at its BEST!

  • 5 of 5

This was a great getaway for our family. It was great that Gary was an amazing host and allowed us to bring our dog, he is a part of the family. This cabin had all the amenities of home and more. We sat in the hot tube everyday! It was nice to have to two family rooms with two TV’s just like home. We never agree on the same Netflix show. I would love to stay there again. I highly recommend this cabin and Gary as a great host.

Highly recommend this lovely home.

The family that was going with us were unable to at the last minute so we had the whole house to our selves. The Kids loved the downstairs.

Cozy with a great view

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week and didn’t want to leave. The view is gorgeous. Quiet surroundings. House was clean, relaxing and cozy. Beds were very comfortable. Love the fact it had roku on the TVs. Hot tub was great on the cold nights! Loved sitting by the fire at night and relaxing with a glass of wine. Loved sitting in the rocking chairs with blankets and the fire going as well. Kids loved climbing and exploring the hills, we are from Florida and don’t get to experience that. Sad there was no snow. About a week too late :/ Overall great trip, sad to go. Hopefully will be back next year! Thank you so much!

Just as it is described. Very clean, Beautiful views. hot tub, Grill, fireplace, TV, etc all work 100%. Move-in-ready! We were excited to see a beautiful snow covered landscape when we arrived and the owner had our driveway and parking area snow blown as we arrived. We will definitely consider another stay in the tree house when we plan our next trip to the Valley!

Homey and Comfortable Mountain Retreat.

  • 5 of 5

This property was ideal for us! I traveled with my mother and with my daughter and her family. Upper level has the kitchen, living room, 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. My daughter's group stayed on that level. My mother and I shared the lower level which is actually a larger bedroom, bath, and "gameroom" with a sitting area and TV and an area with a small scale pool table. The washer and dryer are also on this level. Each level has its own deck, parking and an entrance without stairs. Indoors, there are stairs between the levels.

We also traveled with two older, flatlander dogs. No real yard area (since you are on the side of a mountain!), but the road is actually pretty level there, so it was enough that we could walk them easily.

The home is very comfortable with beautiful artwork and comfortable furniture. The downstairs bathroom has been updated more recently than the upstairs bath. It looks like the owners are updating the property gradually. The outside decks are wonderful and look like they've been replaced recently. We didn't get to spend much time out there since it was cooler but did enjoy the time we did.

We had another group in the Buckhorn cabin, and the two cabins are very close. The Buckhorn driveway is very steep so very strenuous for older folks to walk to.

We had a wonderful week. It went way too fast! Thank you!
