About Franky Casteel

The Casteel Family

This is a family owned and operated cabin. We are Johnson City, TN natives.

Franky Casteel purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Franky Casteel chose Sevierville

We chose to buy this home because we have traveled in this area our entire lives and dreamed about owning a property in the beautiful Smoky Mountains. We fell in love with this cabin because of its wonderful location.

What makes this cabin unique

The Cozy Corner is far enough away from it all to be a mountain getaway, yet close enough to the action for young families on the go. Swinging on the front porch while listening to the music of the mountains will wash away all the stress and worries of everyday life.

Perfect weekend getaway!

  • 5 of 5

A group of friends and I stayed here for my birthday, the place was perfect for the 4 of us! Perfect size. Cozy and comfy! The beds were so comfortable. The drive way was a pretty big hill however it didn’t effect much at all! Saw some wild life staying in the cabin too. The owner was helpful when we had an issue with one of the doors and attended to us immediately and had the situation fixed ASAP. I was very pleased with our stay and will absolutely stay again! Thanks!!

Very cozy budget home

  • 4 of 5

Nice place. Driveway could be difficult in certain weather with improper vehicle. Not enough room for two vehicles to maneuver. Cabin was good, beds were comfortable and clean. Kitchen lighting is dim when trying to cook. Hot tub was nice and relaxing so is listening to the stream and not being beside another site was perfect. Reading the book and experiences had in the cabin was awesome and enjoyable. Deadbolt on the hot tub door wasn’t working no big deal just mentioned for assistance. Water was hot and plentiful and the gas logs were nice to knock the chill off. Everyone in our party were pleased and would visit again.

Great location, all the comforts of home and more

  • 5 of 5

I'll list my (very minor) complaints here, then on to the overwhelming positive views.

1. I wish I'd known to expect the 10 minute winding road to the cabin so I could have given extra motion sickness medicine out, but at least there was a hose to clean out the mess

2. There was no bubble bath for the Jacuzzi which was listed in the overview(we went and bought our own) and while there were plenty of candles, there were no matches or lighters to light them.

3. It was unseasonably warm (high 70s and 80s) and the A.C. didn't work, so it got a little too warm during the day.

4. It looks like some rules/pricing differences exist between the website, app, and the rules at the house, you might want to double check that they match for consistency (I didn't find the check out instructions until after we left :( sorry.

Now onto the good: we were close to everything we wanted to do! We enjoyed the drive to and from the cabin (without the dogs to worry about after the first trip). The hot tub was the perfect size and wonderful to come back to each night (might need a mat to help wipe off your feet to keep dirt out, it was a little gross by the end of our week there). The water pressure was great, there were plenty of towels for just the two of us, we never even used the ones we brought from home. The beds are very soft (a little too soft for me, but that's just a personal preference). The only item we couldn't find in the kitchen was a pizza cutter, but the kitchen scissors worked just fine instead. We also had some trouble getting the shower to work, but Franky got back with me within minutes and we were good to go (there's a ring on the tub spout, pull it down to get the water to the ahower) Great communication is everything to me, we would gladly come back again on our next trip!

RollTide Vacation

  • 3 of 5

We totally enjoyed our stay at this location. The only thing that were unsatisfactory were the parking and the roads we had to drive to get to the cabin but you can't mess with Mother Nature roads through the mountains what can you expect! The only complaints were poor lighting in the cabin, unsafe electrical, and I think that you are waisting your money on the cleaning crew there is a lot of things that could have been cleaner upon arrival. Such as simply sweeping my wife swept when we arrived and swept up a lot of hair from previous vacationers. outside of that we totally enjoyed our stay.

review of cozy cabin

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in the cabin it is very warm and cozy. We enjoyed the size, the fireplace on those chilly nights and loved the Hot Tub each night. The only downside was the parking. Please specify on your site that not only is it steep the parking area for a large vehicle such as our Town and Country van made turning round a scary endeavor. We tried backing down and that almost cost us a tow truck! It definitely is not handicap friendly. But overall we enjoyed our stay.
