This quiet getaway is tucked away in a natural setting, yet sits just a mile from historic downtown Missoula. Walk to Griz games! Located at the north end of Greenough Park by Rattlesnake Creek, rich in wildlife and recreation opportunities.
Walk out apartment on ground level of my home. Large west facing windows let in lots of light. Small courtyard with BBQ. Use of 2 one speed bikes to cruise around town.
I've lived in Missoula for over 40 years enjoying the many recreational opportunities. I love whitewater canoeing and rafting. Lightweight Backpacking with a pack raft into the wilderness is my newest interest . I ski quite a bit in the winter, both downhill and xc. I still strap on a snowboard now and then.
My main job, other than managing/maintaining a 100+ yr old apartment building, is keeping my Australian Shepherd entertained and worn out.
jeff kooris purchased this apartment in 1998
Great for two people. Includes one queen bed, fully stocked kitchen, wireless internet, and cable t.v. Easy access to wilderness areas and Historic downtown Missoula. Our location is what makes us unique. The property is tucked away and borders the north end of Greenough Park, a local favorite. Greenough Park , a preserved natural area, provides opportunities for wildlife viewing, jogging or just an easy after dinner stroll. Some of the best bird watching can be found along Rattlesnake Creek which runs through the park. Also close by are hiking opportunities in Missoula's North Hills and Mount Jumbo, both offering views of the Missoula Valley and an abundance of wildflowers in the spring and early summer. The Rattlesnake Recreation area, just up the road, offers great mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, and cross country skiing.
It feels more like a quiet retreat in the woods than an apartment close to downtown. It's also close to many hiking and biking trails on either the numerous open space lands owned by the city or forest service land. It's also a short walk to the Clark Fork River. The Univ. of Montana campus starts just across the foot bridge. Avoid the parking hassle and walk to a Griz football game.
This was our third stay at Jeff's property. We return to it because of the excellent location, the warmth, cleanliness, and comfort of the apartment, and the peace that comes with knowing a property's attributes: the highlights being that it sits on a park in a quiet location, has a full kitchen, and a lovely fireplace for heat and ambience.
The fireplace kept us warm and was an added plus. The area is very quiet. We will stay here again when we visit family in Missoula.
Apartment very comfortable and reasonably priced. Host very accommodating. Loved the fireplace. Would stay there again.
This spacious and well maintained studio apartment is on the northeast side of Missoula, only a little over a mile from the University of Missoula campus or downtown...easy walking distance through a lovely older neighborhood. The apartment is very well decorated and appointed...you have everything you need! Separate kitchen, bathroom and closet so the apartment feels like a larger space than it is. A large picture window overlooks a small green space, including outdoor table and chairs. Hiking/walking trails and associated park are just outside your doorstep. Jeff, the owner, is a great source of information about dining spots and other Missoula activities. He checked in with us to be sure that we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back!
The rental was quiet and nicely secluded in a park area with wilderness access. The bed was comfortable. The unit was clean. The best part was Jeff's friendly and welcoming manner and his knowledge of the area.
Our stay here was wonderful! We loved the set up of the place and the warmth of the space. Truly a great area to come and relax after a day full of adventuring. Coffee, netflix, wifi, and a fire made life even better!
Thank you Jeff for such a treat of a stay.
Borders north end of Greenough Park with Rattlesnake creek running through it. Natural wooded area with good birdwatching. Tucked back in the woods on a dead end street, very quiet and dark for star gazing, yet only 20 minute walk to down town or the university campus. Great mountain biking trails close by in the Rattlesnake valley. Three major rivers are close by for boating and fishing. Many fishing guides in the area.
