About the property

3BR/2BA Home on with water access on all sides!

Watch the sun rise up the river from your riverside screened in porch. Then watch the sunset on your lake side deck/porch. What could be more ideal than a full day spent enjoying nature at its finest!

This is a special property. The land has been in our family since the turn of the century and was chosen for it's absolute perfect placement. And for the first time we want to share it with you!

We have just completed (May 2015) an entire home renovation including new bathrooms with Carrera Marble, completely new kitchen including all new appliances, new flooring, paint, etc... it is beautiful!

There is a canoe available for use - and the option to rent a pontoon. There is plenty of room for docking your own boat, renting one from a local marina and parking for cars and trailers.

While sipping your morning coffee you'll likely exchange pleasantries with the local fisherman as this property is known for housing large bass! During the day you and your families can enjoy rope-swinging into the river, boating or generally playing in the water.

This home is what you imagine when you dream of a summer vacation with your family!

About Jennifer Zuklie

My brother, sister and I grew up in Lansing, MI - and would visit our grandparents cottage on the lake throughout our lives. We are all grown and living around the country now, but want to keep our ties to this area and the fond memories it brings us.

Jennifer Zuklie purchased this house in 2014

Why Jennifer Zuklie chose Dexter

This property has been in our family for over 100 years. It was originally bought by our great grandparents, handed down to our great aunt, then her daughter - whom we bought it from this year --- our parents spend the summer in the cottage next door.

What makes this house unique

The fabulous craftsman style home is special for so many reasons. It seamlessly blends the old and new - you'll see original beams from the first cottage as well as a brand new kitchen installed in 2015!

The beauty of the property and it's location on the Huron River Chain of Lakes is really why it gets so much attention by the river traffic. Boaters are always in awe of the magnificent sight of seeing the lake as they drive down the river. Something once you experience once you will have in your bones forever.

A Very Enjoyable Experience

  • 5 of 5

Nothing but kudos for the cottage, the lake, the river, and the owners. The cottage had everything one could want for enjoyable time on the lake. A fire pit, many wonderful views of the river and lake with both outside areas and screened areas to enjoy these views. a very large sandbar to swim, pontoon boat you can rent and use on both lake and river, a rope swing, and the nicest, most helpful people next door that take care of property(Parents of owner). Whenever a problem arose( and there were not many) Dennis and Patti were there with solution. Dennis even rigged up a fishing pole for my granddaughter to use off the back porch. We were there 2 weeks, had family reunion over Labor Day, and Dennis and Patti were very helpful in making it a success. Grill on deck with extra propane tank,Tki Torches, kayaks, paddleboat, trampoline raft for kids on the sand bar. These are just some of the things that made this an enjoyable experience. location is 10 minutes from Dexter in one direction, and 10-12 minutes to Pinckney in the other direction. Highly Recommend.

Something for everyone! Great Place

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time swimming and boating in the lake. Relaxing by the river or cooling off with a quick rope swing off the tree. Plenty of outdoor space and great fire pit. Great memories! Thanks.

Very nice and well furnished.

  • 5 of 5

The property is very nice and there is a lot to do in the area as well. The lake and river are both accessible from the house and there is a great rope swing into the river. We did manage to sail a couple of times and use a canoe, but we didn't use the pontoon boat because the weather was not really that cooperative.

Idyllic Three Generation Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Lyon’s Point on Leach Lane is an idyllic location for a three-generation family get-away vacation and celebration, even more so if you live nearby as we do. Being able to duck back to Ann Arbor in just about 30 minutes, if necessary, and then be back having fun and relaxing with our children and grandchildren was wonderful.

We had near perfect weather, which made the large variety of available water activity on both the lake out the front door and the river from the back door really fun. The kids and most of the adults truly enjoyed the rope swing into the river from the overhanging tree, and we made good use of the pontoon boat, canoe, kayaks, tubes and paddleboat.

The ground floor is ideally laid out, providing both the chance to all be together or in small groups or to find one’s own space. The well-designed and equipped kitchen plus large grill on the deck allowed us to comfortably prepare all of our meals at the cottage plus even invite friends to join us on some evenings.

We hope to return next summer.

Second Consecutive Year at Lyons Point Vacation rental

  • 5 of 5

For the second consecutive year we had a tremendus vacation at this prime location on the chain of lakes with the Huron River off the back deck and Baseline lake in front of the property. The renovation of the property has turned out to be a big hit. The pontoon boat, kayaks, paddle boat provide the activities to enjoy the lake. The addition of air conditioning to two of the bedrooms was a good improvement. We had people from age 1 to 91 when the entire family congregated at the lake house and there was a relaxing environment and yet activities for the young and young at heart.

Return renter, this time even more satisfied...

  • 5 of 5

We had a short stay last year, and just now finished our 2nd stay, a full week. The property was perfect for our young family and our sister's young families (incl. canines) who joined us. Highlights were the rope swing into the river, the peddle/paddle boat rides, kayaking, dockside fishing, towing the tubes around the lake and a pontoon cruise up to Zukey for lunch. The house stayed comfortable despite the 90's+ temps thanks to the split unit A/C in the lower & upper bedrooms on the south side of the house. The newer side deck was great for BBQ, and newer landscaping made more enjoyable the few hours we spent on land taking a break from the water. The location is really hard to beat, both for waterways and roadways, allowing full enjoyment of the entire Huron River Chain of Lakes. Just like last year the house was clean and very well appointed, we essentially showed up with only coolers full of food and drink and our swimsuits. I'd recommend this property to anybody, especially young families with group size 8-10.
