Have owned this property for 45 years. Built our log home from the timber on the property with the help of my wife Joey and our two boys. Not a quieter place anywhere.

Cozy Cabin in the Woods

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I loved our stay at the Sky Cabin. Terry and Joey were very welcoming and available if we needed anything, but we didn't need a thing. They have done a great job of providing basic provisions in the cabin and added touches that make for an inviting and pleasant stay. They have newly added air conditioning, and that felt very good when we arrived on a hot day. At night, however, we didn't need it and could just open the windows. It's a great base for exploring the wonders of Mt. St. Helens but would also serve well as a place to which to retreat and just enjoy some down time in a lovely setting.

Quiet, relaxing, lovely cabin in the trees.

  • 3 of 5

This rustic cabin was what we needed for a break from the noisy hectic city. It was so quiet and peaceful. We did have an issue with the water temp in the shower. It would first switch between hot and cold before we could get it adjusted to our liking, and then it ran out of hot water too soon. We spoke to the owners about it and they assured us that they would look into it. There is a small kitchen with a hot plate and electric skillet which took a little to get used to cooking on but worked out fine. There is a microwave also, but we didn't make use of. The kitchen sink is small which made it a bit difficult to wash dishes. The master bed was harder than we would have liked and squeaked whenever we moved, but we were so tired from our exploring on the mountain that we still slept soundly. If we were here for longer than a couple of nights we would have made use of the nice outdoor grill, fire pit and picnic area. The owners, Terry and Joey, are awesome people. We had a super visit with them when we checked out. They have some great stories and a wealth of knowledge about the area. Other than our concerns with the shower, bed, and kitchen sink I would've rated this a 4. This is a good place as base camp when exploring the north side of Mount St. Helens and the surrounding area. We would definitely stay here again. To other travelers, this is a rustic cabin with basic amenities, clean and charming. Not for those expecting a full service 5 star hotel experience.

Rustic Cabin Perfect for Family of Four

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Sky Cabin three nights in late July and compared to what is available (VRBO/motels) nearby, this place is a steal! It is a small cabin with one tight bedroom, which you need to walk through to get to the only bathroom in the cabin. The "master bedroom" is an open loft space, which is well appointed with a comfortable bed. We had our two kids with us (5 and 8) and found the layout awkward, but manageable by playing ocean sounds in the kids bedroom, so they didn't hear us sneak into the bathroom before our bedtime!

The pictures of the cabin are accurate and show the nice land around the cabin; the kids enjoyed playing outside. The furniture, plates, etc. in the cabin are older, but are quality and in good shape. We were impressed that the owners stocked so many things with the unit--toilet paper, paper towels, popcorn, firewood, and COFFEE!

Overall, it is a great place to stay while exploring Mount Saint Helens and Lewis & Clark National Monument/Columbia River area. The friendly owners made everything easy and seemed to really think about their guests' comfort and experience.

super comfy and convenient location

  • 5 of 5

My daughter and I had such a wonderful stay at the Sky Cabin. Tucked in the forest, you feel miles away from everything, but in actuality, you're just a couple of miles from town(grocery store, gas station, restaurants), and it's in a great location for visiting the Mt. Saint Helen's area with visitor centers, lakes, hikes, and, of course, the volcano itself. Truly a breathtaking area to visit! The cabin was incredibly comfortable and was such a relaxing place to return to after a day of exploring. The owners could not have been any more hospitable...they made us feel right at home!

Fun place, nice owner!

Enjoyed this fun tucked away cabin. Good location for seeing St. Helens, and not far from the highway but still super secluded and quiet. Family that owns it was super nice and welcoming!
