About the property

1 BR + Den (2 bunk beds), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

VILLA VALHALLA UNIT #11 - extensive renovations have been made to both the building and our condominium unit. (Elevator, new stairways, exterior finish and in our unit we have redone the kitchen, living and dining room as well as installing a beautiful corner gas fireplace.) Our unit also has a dedicated private parking space located less than 20 yards from the entrance to our unit.

LOCATION - LOCATION - LOCATION...We are located in the center of Vail Village, less than 5 minutes walking to the new gondola replacing the Vista Bahn in 2014! Also the shuttle stop is just at the corner of the street should you want to head over to Lionshead or other areas in the Vail area.

Our unit is just below the historic Christiania Inn. They conveniently provide a front office for check-in, daily maid service, and assistance during your stay in Vail. You will have a kitchen stocked with various spices, condiments, and other essential items to cook your own meals - or you can walk to multiple excellent restaurants in the core of Vail Village.

The ground-floor unit also has a sleeping den with a set of bunk beds. This is accessible through the unit as well as through an outside sliding door that also leads directly to the swimming pool and parking lot.The pool is heated to 100 degrees in the winter and 88 degrees in the summer.

We have exclusive discounts (20%) with Christy Sports for your ski rental needs. They are located a short walk on your way to the lifts or you can also arrange for them to be delivered to the unit with door-to-door service also at a discount.

In addition to the discounts at Christy Sports, your stay at the Villa Valhalla entitles you to utilize without charge the facilities at the Vail Athletic Club. This is located 2 blocks from our unit. Get your free pass at the front desk of the Christiania. Check out this excellent club that has a spa, weight lifting, exercise machines, a climbing wall, and many other amenities.

Very few VRBO units provide all the amenities listed above - at a very reasonable price.

This is the ideal vacation rental for a couple with two children.

We wish you a wonderful visit to Vail.

Guestbook comments from the manager

The location is great. Just a block from Vail Village, but there were problems. I have given the owner a week to respond to me, and since none was received, I feel compelled to comment.

There were no paper products, including toilet paper (believe it or not), paper towels, napkins, Kleenex, etc. There were no face towels, and only 2 wash cloths(one of them was for a baby). Also, the hair dryer did not work. The remote for the TV in the Living Room only turned the TV on & off and changed channels. It did not allow DVD or VCR to be operated. There was no remote for the TV in the Bedroom. We have never rented from an Owner before, but these would appear to be "basics"

Well located, updated, garden-level condo 250 steps to Gondola One

  • 5 of 5

Smaller, garden-level condo great for a couple, or couple and two children.

Excellent location, just one block off the main pedestrian street (Bridge Street) in the heart of Vail. While the unit is small (some might say tight), the owner has done an excellent job of updating the kitchen, bath and main living area, and has done an excellent job maximizing the space and layout. For example, there are no closets in the condo, but there are dozens of coat hooks everywhere in the unit, making space for your coats, ski pants, backpacks to find a spot. There is a small bar-top cabinet between the entry door and main couch, which looks sort of odd, but is strategically positioned to drop keys, grocery bags, and other items onto when walking in. It also serves as a strategic spot to set your drink when sitting on the couch. I love it. In short, the condo unit works well.

The "room" for the bunk beds is very small, 7x7 foot "room" that has the bunk beds wedged in, and leaves a 3 foot wide aisle to walk thru to access a sliding glass door, that exits onto a small patio, that connects to a larger patio area around a nice outdoor pool, that was heated to hot tub temps while we were there for Easter weekend (April 13-17). Many would be shocked at the size of the bunkbed room, as you really cannot even change clothes in it, and certainly is no room for luggage (it does have lots of coathooks!). But it works well as a sleeping room, or a "cave" for teens to retreat (escape) to and indulge in their screen time (it does have a small tv mounted at the foot of the lower bunk bed). All in all a great seperate room for the kids, and much better than sleeping on a sofa bed that would mess up the main living space.

The pool area is 20 steps from the sliding glass door, and is located between the Valhalla condo building, and the next door building, the Galatyn Lodge. Its a very nice pool area, with comfortable chairs, a lot of tall pine and aspen trees, making it a perfect spot for an afternoon or evening drink. You can enter the Galatyn lodge from the pool area, and ask to have the pool cover removed if its on, management there was very responsive and accommodating (there is some sort of agreement between the two buildings to effectively share the pool - very smart).

The unit is somewhat unique in that it has daily maid service, and you have access to the Christiana Lodge front desk for check-in/out. Kitchen is well-stocked, with quality cookware.

Could not have been better. The location is perfect, the staff at the Christiania were top notch and very helpful, the apartment perfect for the two of us. Our adult children came for one night and enjoyed the bunk room. Thanks for letting us stay.

Perfect Location & Beuatiful Condo

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here July 23-28, 2016 and loved it. The location is ideal, walk about a block and you are in the heart of Vail. The condo is exactly like in the pictures, plenty of room for the 2 of us.

Weston was great to work with also. Highly recommend staying here.

Perfect Place for a Short or Extended Stay in Vail (Part 1)

  • 5 of 5

I stayed in this beautiful unit for almost three months, which allowed me to become very familiar with this condominium and the surrounding areas. I stayed as for long as I did because I have a complex orthopedic condition, and came to have surgery and do physical therapy at the Steadman Clinic, one of the top orthopedic institutions in the world. For the first two months after surgery, I had to spend hours a day with my leg elevated, and as a result, spent a great deal of time in the unit. For the last almost month, I was able to get out more and take advantage of some of the many of things to do and see in the area, and was better able to take advantage of the great location of this unit.

The unit itself is very comfortable. It has one bedroom, a bunk room, one bathroom, a kitchen, and a den. In the following paragraphs I will provide more details on each of these rooms, and share things I particularly liked.

The bedroom has a large, comfortable king bed. I spent many hours with my leg elevated in that bed, and appreciated not only the comfort of the bed, but also the TV in the bedroom. It is perfectly situated to be able to watch TV while in bed, and has many cable channels. The bedroom also has a large armoire that serves as a closet, a chest of drawers with three drawers, two alarm clocks, one on each side of the bed, a couple of luggage racks, and a power strip to accommodate one or two personal electronic devices.

I did not spend much time in the bunk room, except to exit to the pool. It has two beds, one on top of the other, as well as a TV that is attached to the lower bed. The beds would be perfect for two children, although they could probably accommodate mid-sized adult guests (5'10" or shorter). The bunk room can also be used for extra storage, if you do not need the beds.

The bathroom is a good size, and has a spacious walk-in shower with a seat, a sink, and toilet. Like the rest of the unit, it is recently remodeled, and is attractive. The sink has sufficient cabinet room to accommodate several people's toiletries. I brought extra items for my extended stay, and still had a lot of extra room. There is also a hair dryer, so you will not need to bring your own.
