Overview

About the property

1 bedroom and Loft, 2 bathroom with ski resort/mountain views

Welcome to Park City, Powder Pointe and our home away from home! This condo is open, spacious, and convenient with room for everyone to spread out. There are two levels of living -- the entry level has a bedroom with a Queen size bed, a full bathroom with separate vanity area, a fully equipped kitchen, and an open living area complete with wifi, 55 inch Samsung Smart TV, DVD, CD, and wood burning fireplace. Just off this area is a roomy deck with amazing views of the slopes, half pipe, and the mountains. The view is gorgeous no matter the time of year! There is also a loft bedroom with 3 twin beds, a bathroom with a shower and separate vanity area.

The condo is on the top floor of Powder Pointe condominiums just across the street from PCMR Eagle and First Time lifts. The walk to the lifts is relatively flat and about 250 yards. The condo building does not have an elevator so there are 3 short flights of stairs to the condo. However, there is a convenient ground level locked storage area for your skis, bicycles, or anything else you would like to store during your visit. There is seating inside so that you can change from your shoes to your boots and vice versa.

It is convenient to get around Park City and the surrounding area from our condo via the free Park City bus service or by walking. There are shuttle and limo services from SLC airport. The free bus runs year round with a convenient stop just a few yards away on Empire Ave (slope side of the condo) and 2 more stops just a short block down (back side of the condo) on Park Ave. There is also a dedicated off street parking lot for your car -- spaces are on a first come basis.

You can also walk to many activities and amenities. Jans and Cole Sports are a block away. The grocery store and Starbucks are less than a quarter mile. Squatters brew pub is a half mile. Historic Main Street with restaurants, shops, and theater is about a mile.

Park City terrain is now merged with Canyons terrain. It can all be accessed by walking to Eagle or First Time lifts from our place; no need to get on a bus. Deer Valley is just a short way in the opposite direction (catch the bus just a few feet up Empire Ave). These 3 resorts are all in the top 10 best ski resorts in the West (check out our VRBO listing #926593 for Jackson Hole WY, another top 10 resort).

You can also cross country ski at the tracks laid down by White Pine touring at Park City golf course just across the street to your right or look into a sleigh ride, snowmobiling or hot air balloon ride.

Park City has numerous festivals and special events throughout the year. The Sundance Film Festival is every January. The Fine Arts Festival is in July. There are concerts under the stars at Deer Valley during the summer as well as movies in City Park. Once the snow is gone, there are other unlimited things to do -- cycling, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, and just enjoying the many fine restaurants in Park City. If you are looking to relax and escape heat and/or humidity during the summer, the Park City climate is lovely.

Please note: this condo was previously listed under VRBO#29726 with multiple 5 star reviews and an average of 4.8 stars.

About Sharon

Hi, I'm Shannon with my best friend Lauren in the pic above when I was teaching at Deer Valley. The rest of the family is David, a former PCMR instructor, Sharon, everyone just calls her Moms, and Aspen, the craziest snow dog ever. We've been coming to Park City ever since I was little, mostly during the winter. But we've also discovered the beauty of the area during the other seasons and are anxious to share all four seasons with you!

Sharon purchased this condo in 2014

Why Sharon chose Park City

We've owned a condo in Park City for nearly 25 years and when the opportunity came up to move to Powder Pointe we jumped at it. The condo has beautiful views of the mountains all year round. It is bright and airy with the vaulted ceilings. We can also start our ski day or a morning hike by just crossing the street and a parking lot.

What makes this condo unique

In a word (or two) convenience and flexibility. We can walk to all of the outdoor activities we love to do - skiing, cross country, hiking, biking, and strolling Main Street. But we can also walk to the grocery store or Starbucks or to pick up the free bus if we want to go further afield. We can vacation together as a family while having the flexibility to do things individually. Moms can walk home when she is done skiing while David and Shannon get one last lap of Scotts (top to bottom no stops). Note from Moms, 'follow me' when uttered by two ski instructors is highly over-rated. Or if just one person is really craving the Cherry Springer ice cream at Java Cow, they can burn the calories off by walking to Main Street and back while everyone else sensibly takes it easy.

Let us know if we can answer any questions or help you make your trip special.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Great location...right at the slopes (end of the parking lot), close to main street for night life and shopping and close to grocery/drug stores. Very clean and nicely decorated and stocked. Owner very nice and responsive.

Perfect location for skiing without having to walk too far to the ski base area.

  • 5 of 5

I will definitely stay here again if I come back to Park City for skiing. So close to everything you need; less than 5 min walk to ski base area, "payday express" and first time" lifts (in ski boots) and the bus stop to the Canyons is literally 5 steps away from the condo. Less than 2 min drive to grocery store and downtown. All of us (3 adults) really enjoyed our time here. Clean, quite and cozy. We highly recommend it! Sharon, the owner, was so thoughtful and kind with detailed recommendations.

Thank you, Sharon!

We love to share our "finds" with you too! Thank you Bonnie for choosing our place and for taking the time to let future guests know you were happy with your choice. We hope to welcome you back again! Sharon

Fantastic Stay!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time skiing at Park City and we will definitely be back. From the minute I inquired about the property and started talking to Sharon I knew we found the perfect place. Powder Pointe is a great location, walking distance to the lifts and the main base area. Since we were with our kids, 8 and 10, we found it easiest to check our skis at the base overnight for $5 making the short walk to the lifts that much easier. The condo was one of the best we have ever rented - super clean and centrally located with great views of the mountain. We were impressed with the hotel-like amenities in that there were little shampoos, conditioners, soaps, etc. Even popcorn and water for the kids to enjoy while we unpacked. They really thought of everything. The kids thought the loft was "so awesome" with three beds and a full bathroom and we loved that they had their own retreat. Aside from a 2 minute drive to the grocery/liquor store, we walked or took the bus everywhere we wanted to go.

We had a wonderful stay made that much better by Sharon's insight, helpful tips, directions, recommendations, you name it! If you're looking for a great, affordable place to stay, I highly recommend Powder Pointe.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience! We love having families stay at our place and are very happy that you found it convenient! We also appreciate the short walk to the lifts when we are there. We would especially like to thank you for the respect with which your entire family treated our place. Our cleaners work very hard to keep it clean. We will let them know you appreciated their efforts. Please come back and stay with us again! Thank you, Sharon

Comfort, Style, Convenience!

  • 5 of 5

My son and I arrived at David's and Sharon's wonderful home in Park City on March 6. We rented a car at the SLC airport and drove a quick 30 minutes to Park City. Parking, immediately adjacent to the condo, was easy and convenient. Although the building has no elevator, the steps up to the third floor were not difficult; in fact, we felt it was good pre-skiing exercise! Upon entering, we realized how welcoming and comfortable the space was. The VRBO pictures accurately convey the western-themed decor. My son made himself at home in the large, upstairs bedroom (with several beds) which overlooks the living space below; this bedroom has a private bath and shower, as well as a large, flat-screened tv, something my son particularly enjoyed! I used the bedroom on the main level which has a queen bed, a large closet, a tv, and a private bathroom and shower next to the room off the hallway. The living area is bright with a large leather sofa, lounge chair, fireplace, and another huge, flat-screened, smart tv (with integrated internet features). The room's sliding glass doors open to a balcony which looks directly at the slopes, about 200 yards across a public parking area. (We would pick up our skis in the assigned storage locker in the condo's garage below and walk about five minutes to the ski lifts.) The kitchen area is appointed with modern appliances and contains all the necessary tools of the trade and more. There is also a laundry room outside the condo on the ground floor. Another wonderful benefit was the round-the-clock access to a large, hot jacuzzi (also on the ground floor)... the perfect panacea to soothe fatigued muscles after a day of skiing!

And last, but certainly not least, was the kindness and attention provided by David, Sharon, and Shannon. They are ideal hosts who sincerely enjoy sharing their home and make every effort to ensure the best possible stay. They want their guests to experience the beauty and fun of Park City as they have, and, accordingly, they respond quickly to any and all questions, offering suggestions, tips, and help of every sort. Their assistance was truly amazing!

I can't say enough about about how pleased we were with our visit. I have no doubt you will enjoy this home every bit as much as we did!

Comfortable - Highly Recommend

  • 5 of 5

This is a rustic and comfortable home that is exactly like the pictures in the ad. David, Sharon, and Shannon go out of their way to make guests feel welcome by providing amenities like hot chocolate and a long burning log for the fireplace. The towels are very nice, as are the bed linens. The hosts respond quickly to texts or emails and there is a book in the condo with all sorts of brochures for activities and restaurants in the area. The hot tub is great. It's very hot and clean. The three flights of stairs are a little tough in the beginning but not even noticeable by the end of the week. We highly recommend this rental.

perfect!

  • 5 of 5

This condo was perfect for me and my friend visiting for a weekend in the summer. We each had our own space to sleep and hang out, and our own full bath. Parking was easy. Walking distance to Main Street. Nice deck to hang out on. Sharon was super helpful with tons of info before we arrived and was available to answer questions when we were there. If this condo is available, don't think twice -- rent it! (though note it's a 3rd floor walk-up)

Spacious and Great Communication

  • 5 of 5

Good communication, and very helpful and understanding of circumstances.

The property itself was well stocked, and exactly as displayed and described.

Amazing knowledge of the surrounding area, and quick with advice; great property to choose if you have never been to Park City before.

Loft beds are small though, so just be aware.
