About Owner

We are a nearing-retirement age couple from the New York City area with backgrounds in fine arts and restoration, an appreciation for eccentricity, and a limited amount of patience for shoveling snow - so Savannah is perfect for us.

Owner purchased this house in 2007

Why Owner chose Savannah

When our son was clever enough to pass up the blustery New York area where he was born and enrolled in the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) in animation in 2004 we began thinking about escaping ourselves - at least for visits. He graduated in 2008 and has moved on to other challenges but we continue to be fascinated by Savannah, one of the most magical cities in the US.

What makes this house unique

For short and longer term visits we have stayed in quite a few Savannah hotels and a dozen or so furnished vacation rentals, so we have a good idea of what we want to find to make us comfortable, which has guided us in renovating and furnishing this house.

Spotless and well kept

Wonderful time in the jingle bell house. The place is neat and clean and very well equipped. New appliances and laundry, they even supply laundry soap! Everything is walkable from here. We will be back!

Very cute house, about 20 minutes walk to city market but very simple walk. It had everything we needed and was very comfortable.

Highly recommend this Owner and this Property

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful home, gleaming hardwood floors and lots of light. If you have an appreciation for art you will enjoy collections of prints, sculptures and furnishings, all displayed in a comfortable and casual home. Located a couple of blocks from one of Savannah's many parks, it's located on a quiet street with parking just outside the door. It's an easy walk to River Street, Forsyth Park, SCAD, anywhere in the Historic District. Unfortunately, while we were there the AC stopped working. Action was swiftly taken. When it was determined not to be a quick fix, the owners and house manager found us other accommodations for the night--a larger, grander home. We loved Jingle Bells and hated to leave it, but were impressed by the quick response and obvious care and concern for our comfort. I highly recommend renting from this owner and highly recommend this property.

Quaint and clean historic home

  • 5 of 5

Thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Savannah and Jingle Bells House. This is a 2 BR home, which was meticulously clean with all the amenities that we needed. Kitchen was great, eating area was nice, living room also served as a sleeping area with a pull-out bed that seemed to be comfortable as our kids did not complain. Nice tv's in all rooms, 2.5 baths. We were able to walk to just about everything we wanted to do while visiting. Parking was right out the front door. This home is on a very quiet street and we felt safe while staying here. The 2 bedrooms are located up the stairs, so that would need to be taken into consideration if traveling with someone who may have trouble with the stairs. Thank you for a great stay!!

Lovely place!

  • 5 of 5

Four girls traveled to Savannah for a get-away and stayed at this lovely condo. It was simply wonderful. The location was fantastic! We could walk to all the places we wanted to see. In the mornings, the screened porch was a terrific place to have coffee and contemplate the day. We felt safe and fortunate to have this cozy spot to return to each day. No complaints!
