Island Dream has a spectacular panoramic view from each room,4 decks, pool, on its cozy 1/2 acre among palms, tropical flowers and tropical fruit trees. A rock garden merging with native plants on a hillside surrounds one side of the pool and the other looks out to the sea as does the new partial shade deck..
Each bedroom has a private balcony and a bathroom opens on an outdoor shower within flower-covered rocks. There are no other houses on its road or behind it. The three beautiful, secluded beaches are a short walk away and have fantastic snorkeling. One beach has chairs and umbrellas; the other is pristine.
A very short walk brings you to a community center with tennis court, bocce ball court, restaurant and a large pool with poolside bar, plantation ruins for picnics and a small, lovely spa.Our guests may use all facilities at this center.
Although the kitchen is small, all our guests marvel at how well-stocked it is and easy to work in. I love to cook and leave herbs and spices for all to use. The art is high quality & tasteful. We keep many books on fish, plants, BVI history, good novels as well as a special section of Caribbean cookbooks.
3 decks attached to house, one outside in shade and new pool deck as of Feb.2017.

We are an active retired couple with 3 adult children, ages 36-47 . Our past careers were in clinical psychology ,accounting and theater . Rob has become a jock in his older age, entering ski race contests and playing tennis as much as possible. Mary paints at least one water color a week and walks an hour every day (sometimes with weights on her ankles!) and is writing a novel abut a pretend island near here in the 1790s. Mary volunteers in VG the 6 mos. we live here each year, teaching and being a mental health adviser. We are also avid readers and hikers. We love to visit our friends and relative and be hosts to them in either Oregon or Virgin Gorda. We are grateful for our good health , loving family and friends and the fulfilling and enjoyable life we lead.

The art is tasteful and we keep many books on fish, plants, BVI history, good novels as well as a special section of Caribbean cookbooks. We have wi-fi and a dvd library. Our wonderful managers are always available for help . Maid and pool service are frequent. We live here for 6 months a year which is one reason the house is so well stocked and in good condition.
I think that we and our guests love the privacy, the view seen from every room, each room having big glass doors and windows facing all possible views (incl. sunsets.) People love the pool which is so near the house that it is easy to dip and swim all day. Since we live here 6 mos. A year, the house has the feel of a real home -one with good art ,taste, comforts and useful items not found in villas that are used mainly a week or so at a time.
This is what the guest, Matt G, who stayed July 2013 wrote on another site:The garden around the house is spectacular, with its assortment of flowers of every color, and array of tropical fruit trees. You'll observe a variety of wildlife around the house as well, with brilliantly colored birds visiting the flowers. You are on a hillside overlooking a sparsely-used park with walking trails through well-maintained gardens which slopes down to the beach on the bay. Most evenings, sailboats moor in the bay, well below you providing a striking scene. While the house is secluded, you are about a 12 minute drive from the valley area with its restaurants and stores.
The kitchen is well-equpped if you are planning to do your cooking there, but there is a variety of nice restaurants on the island if you want to let someone else cook. We visited in July and it was quite warm but were comfortable in the non-air-conditioned section of the house--the kitchen & living area. There were ceiling fans and many screened windows to keep the air moving. The two bedrooms are air-conditioned but within an hour of our arrival we discovered that the bedroom our daughter would be using was not getting cool. A call to the property manager had an electrician there in short order. Unfortunately, he told us the outside unit had failed and would need replaced. We were told a new unit would arrive on the island the next morning for installation. "Island time" left us skeptical about just how promptly it would be repaired. But the next morning, the repairmen were there with the new unit. Unfortunately, it was not compatible with the inside unit, so they had to order one of those, too. Howard, who is also one of the property managers, coordinated all of the repair work with the electrician and the property owner, who quickly and thankfully approved all expenditures to get the work done. By mid-day, the repairs were completed.
The property has several porches--one in the dining area, and one for each of the two bedrooms. There is a lighted deck just off the pool area, but lights automatically go off each evening at around 9:10. We wished they would have stayed on later. The pool is small, but it has a deep end that you can stand up in with just your head above the water (if you are tall).
The house is clean and many small touches are included, such as a cooler and chairs for the beach. There is no cable/satellite TV, but wi-fi is provided and there is a DVD player and a library of movies
My husband and I have stayed in many accommodations in the US and British VI, and Island Dream is far and away the most romantic, picture-perfect location we've found. The Caribbean colors inside and out, the light and airy rooms, actual artwork on the walls, the many decks, the lush landscaping, all made for a totally relaxing stay in a beautiful environment. The house and grounds were impeccably maintained, and the views were fabulous from sunup to sundown. The stars at night were amazing - we even saw some shooting stars! Loved the isolation and quiet. And if you just can't unplug, there's even a great, fast Wifi connection. 5 stars & 2 thumbs up!
The view was spectacular, the plants were amazing, and the house was so cute, functional and spotlessly clean. If you include the two bedrooms, there are four decks and a sweet little pool (with chairs and lounges) for sunbathing and ocean viewing. The beaches were spectacular and completely uncrowded - even during peak season. We were able to swim, snorkel and find treasures in the sand. We would highly recommend this to anyone. The owners obviously take much pride in their property, as evidenced by special artwork, the Heart Garden, and other artsy additions...
Sorry it took so long to write this review. As you know, life seems to get in the way sometimes when you get back from vacation. The funny part is, although this trip was two months ago, I can remember every single part of it. Island Dream was a big reason for that. This trip was a celebration of my wife's 40th birthday and it was the best vacation we have ever taken.
The minute we arrived via ferry to Virgin Gorda and were met at the dock by the property caretaker, Howard, we knew it was going to be a fantastic seven days. Howard led us back to the villa that was lit up in the evening darkness with the windows open and the breeze off of the sea blowing in. Howard showed us around and had even stocked the fridge with the ingredients for a fantastic meal after a long travel day.
The villa was perfect for our two couples. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you'd need to cook, grill, etc. The bedrooms were cozy and the AC in each was nice to have on those hot nights. The outdoor showers added the perfect sense of paradise. And the pool... what to say about the pool other than we used it every day. Sometimes two or three times a day. What a perfect place to relax after a day of beach hopping.
Island Dream is perfectly located in the middle of the island with easy access to Spanish Town and North Sound and everything in between. It may be a little too close to Hog Heaven, because we became regulars during our stay. Yes, they knew our names by the end of our trip. Coming from Kansas Citians who know BBQ, do not miss this place.
The trails from Island Dream down to the beach were a great hike. The views from the villa are worth every penny.
Our favorite beaches were Trunk Bay, Spring Bay, and Savannah Bay. The Baths were incredible. Our day trip to Anegada was amazing. We also spent a day on the water with Gumption and his Sea It Clear boat, getting to see sea turtles, sharks, and an up close view of Necker Island with a wave from Sir Richard Branson himself.
As I said, this was the perfect vacation and Island Dream was a big part of that. Mary was a delight to work with leading up to our trip as we changed the dates and length of our trip a few times :) I could not recommend Island Dream more. We are already planning our next trip back to Virgin Gorda and this will be where we stay.

Absolutely wonderful vacation-
I just wanted to tell you that we had an amazing vacation. Your Island Dream was perfect. The views were sublime. We drove all over and hiked a bit as well. Loved the trail down to the beaches. So much fun. I felt like a little kid again.
The kids (15 & 17 yr. olds) fave was snorkeling at the Baths. And jumping off the boulders. Yikes! The water clarity is amazing. We all loved the swimming pool and that front porch is just perfect. Enjoyed reading one of your books, "A Trip to the Beach". Guess who we saw riding bikes, in the lead of course, with a group? Sir Richard Branson himself. Glad to see he was wearing a helmet. Lol
Took a day trip to Tortola, which by the way has banned smoking (several years now?) in public places. How I wish they'd do the same here in Charleston, SC. Did some shopping there and ate at Pussers.
It was a great and relaxing vacation, despite driving on the "correct" side of the road. It was the first time ever my husband said he wanted to come back to the same place.
We had a lovely stay at Island Dream for our 30th anniversary. The house was the perfect spot from which to explore Virgin Gorda. Each morning, we enjoyed coffee on the front porch while gazing out at the stunning view. After a day of snorkeling at the Baths or climbing Gorda Peak, it was nice to return to the house for a refreshing dip in the pool, surrounded by beautiful landscaping. While we enjoyed trying out the various restaurants in the area, (Hog Heaven, Sugar Cane, CocoMaya), we also spent a few evenings grilling dinner on the gas grill and enjoying a cocktail on the deck watching the sun set.
Mary was very helpful prior to our arrival and once on the island, Howard the manager quick to respond to any question, replacing the router and coffee maker as soon as a problem was discovered. I've rented a few other VRBO houses and this was the easiest and most relaxing experience.
Island dream is a small cottage in a great location within the Nail Bay resort. We enjoyed the location , good snorkeling was within walking distance. The cottage is suurounded by beautiful mature gardens and the pool area is lovely. The pool is the warmest we have ever had. The home however was not as clean as we would have liked and items are in need of being replaced. If you plan on cooking while there the oven and toaster oven might change your mind. We were able to find a few old beach chairs to use, but again they need to update . We still was able to have a great time , a minimal investment could make a big difference in this home.
Island Dream is at Nail Bay with three relatively unvisited gorgeous equidistant beaches (5 minute walk) with the best snorkeling in the BVI. Guests can use tennis and large pool ( as well as our own one) at Nail Bay Resort which also has garden, picnic tables among plantation ruins as well as delicious Sugar Cane restaurant and poolside bar. This area has few houses and a country feel though house is air-conditioned, has internet access, large DVD collection, lovely art, fruit & palm trees, rock garden and abundance of amenities, cooking tools and grill.
