|Minimum Stay||3 - 4 nights|
Mesa Modern Ranch was completely restored and expanded in 2015 from the original masonry building. Three of the 4 bedrooms are in the main original masonry home and are appointed with new luxury decor, new led smart televisions and ceiling fans.
Two of the 3 bedrooms boast en suite bathrooms; the 3rd bedroom has the hall bath next door. The bathrooms are all custom spa like sanctuaries. The north guest en-suite (tub) bedroom has its own sliding door out to the veranda at poolside.
The master bedroom has its own private patio, individually controlled heat A/C and adjacent office/reading room. Between the bedroom and office is a small hall that contains a closeted stack-able washer and dryer for added convenience.
The office area can be closed off from the master Suite and main living space by closing the barn doors at each end. Outside the west side of the office is a lanai with its own gas fire pit.
The living room features a "heat n glow" fireplace that has the capability of heating the building, beautiful leather furniture and a Led Smart TV. The gourmet chefs kitchen is amazing in its design elements, stainless steel appliances and fully equipped ready for any cook or chef.
The architect has given the owner a dining area that seats 8 in an atrium style glass enclosure to give one the feeling of being outdoors under the veranda. The dining/kitchen has an access door to the gas grill.
The new Casita
We have been informed that theoretically we cannot call the 1100 sq ft building a Casita but it's our fun getaway and it's the building that makes this home truly unique. This building contains a great room with a 9 ft. pool table, 75" wall mounted Led Smart TV, poker game table and kitchenette.
The kitchenette contains a microwave, beverage refrigerator, ice maker, dishwasher and counter top toaster oven. If you can't enjoy this room in the comfortable overstuffed furniture then... You can leave this room by stepping down into the hall that takes you to the fourth bedroom beautifully appointed, having its own TV and private outdoor patio.
Go back down the hall to the 4th bathroom with its walk in shower. This bedroom/bath area of the casita can be separated from the game room by closing the large barn door and making it totally your own.
The occupants of the Casita can play pool while looking at the amazing 270 degree views of the mountains. When they leave the Casita they enter out to its veranda where they step out to the pool deck with its outdoor shower and outdoor fireplace.
On the west side they can also step up to another building that houses the laundry room. Off road parking is available for -4 cars in the auto court north of the Casita and 1-2 cars in the owners driveway on the west side of the property, next to the garage. Garage access is not available.
The architect has designed this home so that the Main house and Casita are mirror images both hosting their own verandas supported by huge square wood beams and framing the pool and decking designed for entertaining. The famous architect, Cliff May, would have totally supported the design of this house.
Mesa Neighborhood Description:
The Old Mesa neighborhood is one of Palm Springs oldest and most exclusive communities. When the North side of town is blowing sand we sit in the Mesa out by our pool and enjoy the quiet and calm surroundings.
Nestled up against the mountains the home enjoys amazing 360 degree mountain views. Many celebrities from the past and present know the Mesa neighborhood. Picture Joseph Cottons home down the street hosting luminaries such as Natalie Wood, Lloyd Bridges, Tom Bosley, Van Clyburn and Kirk Douglas.
Across the street behind beautiful green ficus hedges the former Johnny Mercer estate boasts privacy. The historical Ship of the Desert owned by fashion designer Trina Turk is up the hill. Nearby you will find a cute Spanish bungalow built by Rudolph Valentino and later owned by Esther Williams.
Two streets over in the other direction high up on a hill visible from our pool side is the Barry Manilow mansion. The Mesa also hosts Morton's Botanical Garden. The list goes on and on making it a nostalgic and magical neighborhood.
The location is walking distance from some local restaurant, from the fun "Buzz" transit system that can take you downtown Thursday-Sunday and regular bus system available all week. The hiking trails are accessible and we have been known to walk to Ralphs grocery store a 5 minute car ride away. City Permit #4040
