Three Bedrooms provides sleeping for five!

This quaint historic-reproduction gambrel house has large open plan layout. On the first floor there is a large eat-in kitchen/dining room with fireplace and large living area with fireplace. In addition, there is a bed room off the living room with a pull-out single bed and full bathroom with stall shower. On the second floor two bedrooms (one with two twin beds and the other with a queen) are connected by Jack and Jill bathroom. With sweeping views over the large pond, the sunsets are spectacular and the night sky is amazing! The house is equipped with an outdoor shower, grill, picnic table and benches. All that you need to bring are linens for the beds and towels!

About Laura Loew

Originally from NJ, we started to come to Block Island in the 1950's! We loved it so much we decided to buy a house on Block Island where we could retire and know our children and grandchildren would love to come visit! We have lived here ever since!

We built the cottage as a second home on Block Island so our expanding family could visit!

What makes this cottage unique

This home was designed by my husband who has a love for quaint historic homes. He patterned it after a well-know home on the island called Smilin' Through! He fashioned every door and the kitchen cabinetry in the house himself and made many of the pieces of furniture as well.

Lovely!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Block Island. The house is on the south west side of the island, so you're away from the major tourist area, but still close enough to go out to dinner in town. There was plenty of private space outside to relax, let the kids play and run around, and have a dinner at the picnic table. The house is cozy and comfortable.

Private Oasis

We stayed in this house for one week last summer and loved it! We tried to rent it again this year but our schedules did not match up. The house is cozy and warm but spacious and the artwork is amazing. We have three young children and felt comfortable that there was no immediate threat of traffic. We could let them run around while we enjoyed a cocktail outside. The downstairs reading nook acted as a 3rd bedroom for us and a Pack N Play fit in there nicely for our two year old. The owners were on the property, across a large field/front lawn, and were very respectful of our privacy. Be sure to walk to the nearby beach for amazing sunsets!

Damage Deposit $500

We require a NON-refundable 50% deposit due upon booking. The balance plus $500 damage protection deposit plus $125 cleaning fee and 8% state tax is due 30 days before rental. We prefer payments to be made via personal check. Damage deposit shall be refunded within one week after your departure. Please make sure to book your vehicle on the ferry ASAP! Ferry reservations open January 1st! Don't wait!
