Overview

About the property

You're gonna love it here. Escape winter.... spend your winter at the beach.

With a 180 degree world-class white water ocean view, a bufadora and dolphins cavorting in our little bay, you'll find it hard to tear yourself away from just sitting and staring at the jaw-dropping view. However, this property has much more to offer so, don't forget to bring your toys. You'll be less than a mile from Castro's fishing village, where you can buy a fishing license and take a ponga out for a day of fishing, or just fish off the rocks. Or do it the simple way and just buy some beautiful fresh raw filets at the fish market. You will pay only about one quarter of the cost that you would pay in California. There are endless trails for hiking, biking and off-roading. You will be steps away from the Pacific shore where you can surf, kayak, wind-surf, body-surf, swim, or just gather seashells on the beach. There are good surf breaks within a few miles, or you can drive an hour north to Punta San Jose, or 1 1/2 hours south to world famous Cuatros casas. The house has over 3000 sq. feet or 260+ sq. meters. There are 3 bedrooms (master with king bed, guest room with queen bed and bunk room that sleeps 4 in single bunk beds). There are 2 full bathrooms, each on a separate water heater so no one has to wait for the water to get warm. The great room is actually 5 rooms combined. A large, fully equipped kitchen which is separated from the dining room by an L-shaped bar with 6 stools. The 12 foot wide glass sliders in the dining room overlook the ocean. The living room has a river rock fireplace wall. There is also a big screen TV in the media room, and a baby grand piano in the music room. Outside, you'll find a sun porch, a covered patio, and a palapa where you can enjoy many happy hours of entertaining friends, or reading a good book. For Snowbirds, this is a perfect place to winter; for families, this is a wonderful vacation destination; and for lovers, this is a magically romantic get away. Ejido Erendira is approximately 3 1/2 hours driving time south of the U.S. Border at San Ysidro, CA. San Diego and Tijuana are the closest international airports. No stays shorter than a week, please.

This was our second time staying here and it was lovely as always! The house is just the right fit!

  • 4 of 5

Ron And Nancy's place is the perfect homebase for our type of activities: playing on the beach and tidepools by the house, exploring on the dirtbikes, fishing and kayaking, relaxing and watching the dolphins off the back deck! Ron stayed next door for the first few evenings of our stay which, if he weren't such an easy going guy, may have been awkward but we were fine with him around! The house is not exactly sterile but it is perfectly clean for a house in the dirt and sand of Baja 15 feet off the main road! Ron is always gracious with his garage space and to let us utilize this space (and even some of his tools) for our motorcycles! The only change for us was the water issue which we had to handle ourselves as the town source went dry while we were there! It must fluctuate from time to time. We were as water conscious as we could be but still we ran out and had to pay a local man (Apollonio should anyone be seeking this service) to deliver us two tank fulls! We had a great stay and only wish I knew how to play the piano in the living room! Thanks Ron And Nancy!

A little piece of heaven - A most awesome place with a great host. You will not be disappointed.

  • 5 of 5

I'm not sure how to put our experience at this house into words, but I will do my best. First of all, Nancy is a joy to talk to and work with. She was most accommodating for our group and very quick to answer any pre-trip questions. I later followed up with her after our trip with a phone call and found her joy to speak with as well. Next is Ron - an amazing man with a servant heart. He was so helpful throughout the week in ensuring we had enough water, answering any house questions, and is an expert on the local area. We could not have asked for a greater host. Thank you Ron - we will see you next year for sure! The house has a most incredible view and is so close to the ocean! Watching and hearing the waves crash into the rocks and show us display of the oceans power was most relaxing. The openness of the house gives it an enormous feel. We had a large group there and did not feel cramped ever. The master bedroom and bath are beautiful. There are large windows throughout to see all of the incredible views. You are off the beaten path enough to really get a good feel for Mexico and it's amazing gracious people there. While we did not fish on this trip, I know Castro's is so close and have heard great things about their fishing accommodations. I have used them years ago. You will love this house, Nancy and Don and the area and will want come back year after year (just don't take our weeks! ;) ) So if you are looking for a great deal, off the beaten path, an amazing house with great hosts - then this is the rental for you!

Ron and Nancy are amazing people

  • 5 of 5

We had plans to spend a week at this lovely home right on the ocean. Unfortunately our plans took a major change and our expectations for the week didn't materialize. Ron and Nancy were gracious, kind, considerate and compassionate to our plight. We did get to see their home and it is very beautiful...it even has a grand piano. Watching the ocean while playing.... what a treat. The master suite also has fantastic views of the ocean. They have created a little paradise that you will surely enjoy.

RELAXING

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed one week and had a great time. I can't remember the last time I came home from vacation and actually felt rested. This location is the spot if you just want to chill and relax. We spent a lot of time on the patio listening to the ocean, watching the mini-bufadora and sunsets. The fish collective is right around the corner and we scored yellow-tail and lobster for amazing prices. Ron and Nancy are awesome hosts and have a wealth of information about the area. We will definitely be looking to stay there again!

Beautiful home with great ocean views.

This home is very large and comfortable. It's conveniently located within walking distance to the ponga ramp where you can eat at Eddies restaurant or buy fresh fish and seafood daily. We walked to Coyote Cals for lunch and cocktails. We photographed seals laying on the rocks, numerous pelicans and the guys were able to watch the Masters Golf tournament on direct TV. Great home to rent in Erendira.

Our home is located on the northern outskirts of the Village. There are miles and miles of beaches to explore. A dormant volcano 3 miles south, along the coast. The SCORE Baja 500 and 1000 race course often goes right by our house (Check course map). There are hot springs just 30 miles north. Take a trip to Guadaloup Valley to tour Domecq and L.A. Cetto wineries plus dozens of boutique wineries. Or spend some time travelling south, seeing the valley of giant cactus and boulders, or Bahia San Ignacio and get so close to the whales that you can actually pet them.
