The third Saturday in September is time for the famous Hillsboro Arts and Crafts Fair and Marion's Art in the Park. The only place in America where the historic Santa Fe Trail and the Chisholm Trail cross and is in Marion County! Be sure not to miss Chingawassa Days every first weekend of June in Marion and Old Settler's Day the last weekend in September. There is also a rich Mennonite heritage in Marion County. Hillsboro, the home of Tabor College, is called 'Little Jerusalem' by the Mennonites.
There is nothing as refreshing and rejuvenating as an escape into the quietness of nature. Our area has an abundance of wildlife, including whitetail deer, Canadian geese, Mallard ducks, wild turkey, ring neck pheasant, bobwhite quail, and beaver. The nights are dark enough to see myraids of stars and the milky way. If you enjoy wandering through the wildlife and parks lands we would be glad to direct you to some prime areas on our guided hiking trips. Winter is the best time for hiking around here so bundle up and let’s go!
