Bring your family up to our home, which is a quiet jewel nestled among the pine trees. You will find it rich with log woodwork and stone throughout. We recently upgraded the property with new wood, carpet, and slate floors. All the towels and bedding are new and we care about giving you a good night rest in comfort. The property is located in the middle of lower Moonridge with easy access all within walking distance to Bear Mountain, the Zoo, and golf course and a short drive to Snow Summit. Mountain biking and hiking trails are all within walking distance with the beginning of one of California's best single track trails "Skyline" a short ride/hike away. Big Bear Lake, Downtown, Grocery Stores and restaurant/retail amenities all within a short drive.

Grizzly Mountain Retreat is the perfect location to connect with family. You will have full access to every part of what makes this home special. The master bedroom, with king size bed with half bath and private balcony upstairs is great for stargazers. While downstairs, there are two bedrooms. One has twin beds and a full bath across the hall. The other bedroom has a queen bed and access to a secluded deck off the front. It accesses the full bath complete with separate shower and double sinks.

Finally, the 4th sleeping area is separated (peace & quiet for parents) from the main house located a few short feet away. It is built out over the 2 car garage and has a full futon, bunk beds, sectional sofa, along with a 42' Plasma TV, XBOX 1 game console, pool table and 1/2 bath. This is where our children spend a lot of time.

By far, the BEST features of the home are the large kitchen and living room. The kitchen has granite counter tops with an impressive 6 foot log island surface. You will enjoy the ample space to walk around, prep and have many helpers in the kitchen. You will have two gas burners and 4 electric. There are plenty of kitchen/dining tools and utensils with plenty of cupboard storage for all your groceries. The large kitchen table is a great place to hang out at the end of the day and enjoy a great meal while enjoying the warm fireplace in the adjacent sunken living room.

The living room has a wall of glass facing the golf course and mountain. Yet, it is completely private with mature pine trees outside. The living room has both a love seat and queen sleeper sofa. You'll spend the mornings with tea/coffee in the great room and the evenings enjoy the space with it's floor to vaulted ceiling rock fireplace. The hearth is massive and great for warming boots or simply sitting. There is a 50' Plasma TV, with Netflix, DVD player, and Wireless WIFI throughout and phone.

Lastly, we want you to enjoy this place as much as we do. If there is anything we can do to make your stay more comfortable we promise to do all that we can to accommodate your requests.

We had been traveling around to different mountains over the winters. We found Big Bear close to our San Diego home with year round activities. We love to mountain bike, take in the amazing stars, clean air and connecting with our family.

What makes this house unique

We fell in love with the first impression of the living room and large open kitchen. The separate sleeping/gaming room above the garage was a huge bonus, as it allows us to segregate the noise and family activities [read: gives mom and dad peace and quiet!]

Kids group trip over presidents weekend.

The house was excellent and looked just like the pictures. Having the pool table, spa and a second T.V. was great for the kids & adults to set up their video games. A huge table that sat 10 with plenty of room for eating & games. The location was less than 5 minutes from Bear Mountain and close to the city. The second adult that came up with me liked the house so much that he is going to bring his family back to this location. Thank you for sharing your wonderful house with us.

Great place to stay with the family!

My family of 5 stayed here with my inlaws and there was plenty of rooms for all. In fact my 3 kids all stayed in the game room above the garage where there was a bunk bed along with a futon. It was a great place to stay. Would definitely recommend.

Pretty cool with a few minor weird things

Had a great time. Definitely a beautiful cozy house, but we started noticing there were cameras in every room - including the bedrooms. Not sure what the point was or if these were active or not, but it left some of the people in our group very creeped out. The only other thing, is we had to drive our garbage to a random dumpster a couple miles away, instead of there being an available bin. Never stayed in a rental that made us do that before.

Owner's Response: We are glad you had a great time which is the most important thing but find it " weird " that you would write that cameras are in every bedroom, when CLEARLY there is only one camera inside the house which is in the game room. I'll address your points: 1) Camera - appreciate you being concerned. Just to be clear, we have only 1 camera inside. It is in the game room/pool table/xbox space over the garage, where there is a bunkbed. We have installed it for security. We usually have the cleaning lady put a towel over it after she sets up cabin and she must have forgotten. It is in plain view and obvious, as we want it to be seen by anyone who might want to enter who shouldn't be on property. However, I have since included it as a highlighted note for future guests. If you had contacted us we could have shared this with you and made arrangements. 2) Trash - It's part of the charm of a remote vacation home :) Actually, only full-time residents have curbside trash pick up, as per city ordinance. The dumpsite is 1.5 mi. away, but it is on the route to the main road. Trash topic is clearly listed and highlighted in our rental agreement that you have a choice to remove it yourself or have our cleaners do it for an additional fee. Spacious, perfect location near the stores, easy access,

The open living/dinning area was great! We were able to enjoy our conversation while some relaxed on the couch, others were cooking , and playing games.. Ashley and Mark are great host! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Fantastic!

Our Family had an amazing time staying in your beautiful cabin. Everything was as good or better than you described. There was plenty of room for all of us, the layout is great. The kids had fun shooting pool in the game room and we all enjoyed the jacuzzi. The location was great for skiing or going to the city. We also loved the beautiful stone fireplace in the livingroom. We really enjoyed our stay, and look forward to reserving it again in the future.

Convenient, clean and quite spacious!

From the moment we checked in, our family felt at "home" in the mountains. The cabin was clean with all amenities required to keep us and our young children content for the long weekend. Appliances are updated, beds comfy with a selection of sleeping arrangements.

We were traveling with my family of four, my borther's family of 3 and my mom. We were able to put my two kids in a bedroom with 2 beds and my husband and I stayed on the same floor while my brother, his wife and their toddler stayed upstairs. Each of us was comfortable and pleased with our own sense of privacy.

The separate house is a perfect area for play and games and we will use it much more when our kids are a bit older. My mom stayed slept in it, which I am sure she appreciated after a full day with three kids!
