If your idea of a great beach vacation is to be right on the beach, you will love the location of this classic Florida townhome. They don't build them this way any longer! The sugar-white sands and emerald surf of the Gulf of Mexico are mere steps from your balcony.

Relax with your morning coffee or late afternoon cocktail while being serenaded by the rhythmic waves and the melancholy calls of local seagulls. The complex is simple—no swimming pool or tennis courts. But when you have an amenity as special as this stretch of the Gulf, what else do you need? True beach lovers will love the peace and quiet that only these older, smaller properties can offer.

This corner unit has views from several directions and features three bedrooms and three-and-one-half baths. The first level has a walk-through garage with access to one of the guest rooms. This bedroom has a full-size bed, its own private full bath, and a private balcony with a walk-out straight to the beach. Please note that this bedroom has a separate window air unit to keep the temperature comfortable.

The living room, kitchen and dining room are on the main (second) floor. There is a balcony for enjoying the sea breezes and the dazzling view. The living room includes a sleeper sofa, so there is plenty of room for a large family or group. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes stainless appliances and a breakfast bar—perfect for serving and entertaining. And this level also includes a half-bath for your convenience.

The master suite is on the third floor and features a king bed, private bath and private balcony so you can enjoy that glorious view from the privacy of your room. Also upstairs is another guest room with a queen bed and access to the third full bath.

The complex is adjacent to The Whale's Tail restaurant and only a mile from a grocery store and the Silver Sands Premium Outlet Shoppes—one of the nation's largest designer outlet centers. Henderson State Park with a pet-friendly nature trail, playground and pavilions for picnicking and grilling, is 5.5 miles west.

Miramar Beach is a nostalgic beach community that showcases what Destin was like before it was discovered by the masses and the high-rises replaced its sun-kissed dunes. And although it has that classic coastal feel, you can still find the modern amenities and activities that please the whole family. Water sports, fabulous restaurants, and great shopping are all nearby.

Gulf Sands was built in the 1980's and Unit 1 has been updated, but still retains its classic coastal charm. And modern conveniences like keyless entry, washer/dryer, 24/7 Guest Help line, and free WIFI are yours to enjoy.

Will be renting again next year

The building was a bit outdated but overall we were happy. Plenty of space. It was a great location. Close to the local shops and restaurants but far enough away from the big condos so the beach wasn't crowded.

Would not recommend

I contemplated writing this review because I hate to talk bad about someone's property, but this property was nothing like the pictures. Upon arrival it was so hot and humid that we were miserable. They had a dehumidifier that had to be emptied every day because it was so humid and musty in the unit. We turned the air up and it was still hot in the unit so we called and she told us she had a monitor where she could control the temp and it was because the door was opened (we were packing our things in) so she shut the air off. The toilets wouldn't flush properly, the deck and steps were falling apart, the 3rd bedroom was off of the garage and it smelled musty and gross. It was definitely a rip off for the money that was spent here. I wouldn't recommend anyone staying here.

Needs complete remodel inside out or torn down

The decks did not feel safe; Especially upper deck from master bedroom. In fact, we did not use it at all during our stay. Didn't need to use microwave til third day so had no idea when we found dried, stuck food all over inside, needless to say that option was no longer viable! The sink faucet in master bedroom was not securely attached. Carpets were so old and in bad need of replacing, especially in ground floor bedroom. Tile in kitchen was very dirty. Would not stay here again and would not recommend to anyone!

Should be condemned!

Property is in very poor shape. Stairs to beach are dangerous. Plumbing problems. Balconies are coming apart. The whole building is in very bad shape. The people handling the property were very nice.
