Better than the pictures with tremendous hosts

If this is the start of your trip just arrive and everything you could imagine is provided. Sam and Rich were awesome. Close to Wineries and Obidos.

Urlaub in gastfreundlicher und schöner Umgebung

Wir verbrachten eine tolle Woche im authentischen und liebevoll eingerichteten Ferienhaus von Sam und Richard. Die beiden sind die perfekten Gastgeber und immer für einen da, wenn man etwas braucht. Eine spezielle Erwähnung verdient das überaus reichhaltige Willkommens-Präsent mit frischen lokalen Spezialitäten - daher ist es besser, wenn man eigene Einkäufe erst nach Ankunft tätigt ;). Auch der Garten und die Aussensitzplätze sind sehr schön und herrlich ruhig. Die Quinta do Bom Vento ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen und Besichtigungen. Obidos ist ganz in der Nähe, aber auch das Meer oder Sintra sind relativ rasch erreichbar. Und dank der ausgezeichneten Autobahnen sind auch etwas weiter entfernt liegende Ziele wie Tomar, Coimbra oder sogar Evora mit einem Tagesausflug zu erreichen... Wir freuen uns schon auf unsere nächsten Ferien in der Quinta do Bom Vento :).

Perfect

My husband and I stayed at QBV last December and found it particuarly hard to leave! It is situated close to Obidos and other hotspots in terms of visitng places of interest around the Silver Coast which we enjoyed. However, we found the incredibly warm and sincere hopspitality of the wonderful hosts, the peaceful environment and the thoughtfully well equipped and comfortable house particularly outstanding. While this property would be fantastic in the summer, many properties are not equipped for the winter in terms of providing a cosy and warm environment. The owners, however, have provided such luxuries as a beautiful large corner bath, electric blankets and a very easy to use pellet burner. There is an attention to detail and quality finish that makes the experience at QBV a five star one and one that we definitely intend to repeat.

QBV is our second home

We spend one week in QBV and has been enough to become addicted. Here you will be welcomed like an old friend and pampered by Rich and Sam (and Scrabble and Bingo). There are a lot of wonderful places around, but mixing it with such a great hospitality is quite rare. The apartments are great, we have the opportunity to visit all of them to plan our next year vacation with a bunch of friends. A little rest area and a BBQ are provided. The furniture and the equipment are top level, really like a first house and not a vacation one. The countryside is quite and good restaurants are just 5 minutes far. Obidios is 10 minutes by car and the beaches of Peniches just 25 minutes. Supertubos become my favorite bodyboarding spot but all around there is sand enough for any kind of beach activity. Very important for us is that well educated dogs are really welcomed :-)

Perfekt ausgestattetes großzügiges Domizil

Das Haus ist Teil eines vollständig und hochwertig renovierten Hofes, die Ausstattung läßt keine Wünsche offen. Das Anwesen ist sehr schön in einer hügeligen Landschaft gelegen, in der Nähe der pittoresken Stadt Obidos. Die Gastgeber sind sehr nett, liebenswert und in der Betreuung von Gästen sehr erfahren.

After being life-long sailors, we found our final port of call in Portugal. We spent the last 15 years of our life in the hospitality industry running high end charter yachts, and have transferred our extensive hosting skills afloat to terra firma. Our quintinhas have all been named after bodies of water that we have sailed in and each have their own appeal and character.

Perched on the slopes of its own 4 acre wooded valley, Quinta do Bom Vento is a traditional Portuguese smallholding now fully renovated and offering tasteful and distinctive self-catering accommodation just 8km from medieval Obidos. In less than an hour drive from Lisbon Airport you can be relaxing on your private terrace, glass of excellent Portuguese wine in hand, gazing at the panoramic vista surrounded by nothing more hectic than birds, butterflies, and the rustle of leaves in the breeze.

We designed all of our quintinhas as homes as opposed to rentals and we believe the quality of furnishings, linens and towels reflect that. Knowing how frustrating it can be renting rural properties and arriving to an empty fridge and cupboards, we provide an extensive starter pack including milk, butter, cold meats, cheese, bread, fruit, tea, coffee, wine and beer along with essentials such as washing up liquid, paper towels, oils and vinegars. etc. Recognising the ever restrictive luggage allowances on flights we also provide toiletries and beach towels.
Although rural and peaceful we are only 7km from the delightful picture perfect medieval village of Obidos and also Buddha Eden the largest Oriental garden in Europe. A bus from the bottom of the hill can whisk you to Lisbon in less than an hour, and a choice of beaches in under 25 minutes.
The farm is designed around a central courtyard but each property has its own private spaces and aspect which means it is ideal for couples or families travelling individually or with friends who want to spend time together but also have their own personal space. This is not a cookie cutter villa on a golf course. QBV is unique and oozes charm being faithful to its traditional Portuguese touches but with lots of luxurious enhancements!
