We love the quiet nature of the East End of Sanibel Island for the closeness to the Lighthouse and the easy on/off access to the Causeway. The beaches are uncrowded and great for couples and families and for shelling.

Great Vacation

We stayed at this beautiful home in April, 2017. The house is very comfortable and is well supplied for pool, beach, eating in or just relaxing with a good book. We were even visited by a bobcat passing through the back yard several times. The house is convenient to everything, beach, deli, café, restaurants and especially dangerously close to Ice cream. We have vacationed at Sanibel several times and this is the most convenient yet reasonably priced place we have stayed. Thanks to the Landgraves for sharing.

Close to Beach

Several bikes were available and easy to access in the garage. I appreciated the three-wheeler because that saved me the $50 weekly rental fee from Billy’s. The walk to the beach is pleasant and the provided cart was very helpful. There is plenty of room to carry chairs, a cooler, books, and an umbrella. The beach is just a short trip from the house.

Nicer w a Bit of TLC

Lovely home inside! Decorated beachy beautiful! Comfy beds. AC works great. Owner very patient when we had to call w questions. Very generous to allow guest use of bikes!

That being said ~ Outside needs attention! Black mold. Numerous holes in screens/pool cage. Pool cover crumbling, not useable. Weeds growing through roof. Rope swing in pool area fell w granddaughter in it!!

Even more disappointing was it was not clean when we arrived! I was embarrassed, as I had booked for family & friends to share. Had to launder placemats & some blankets. Vacuum, dust & mop. Clean spoiled & spllled food in frig. Clean oven, doors, windows & pool area. I did alert the owner. While he was very nice, no adjustments were made, even though we spent our 1st day patching screens & cleaning! Bummer! After our clean a thon we made the best of it & did enjoy the rest of our stay! I spoke with the cleaning lady when we checked out & she informed me she had not cleaned the property in sometime. I'm thinking we were the first visitors after the owner had used it & he may have felt it was not necessary to professionally clean. Oh well .... Live & learn ~

Owner's Response: This tenant immediately began lodging complaints upon arrival claiming that the house had not been cleaned. What she didn't know is that my wife and I had stayed at the house immediately before her and on the last day of our visit, we spent the day doing extensive cleaning of the entire house. This cleaning included tasks that the maid service typically will not have time for during a tenant changeover. So in addition to the normal cleaning of linens, bathrooms, kitchen, and mopping/vacuuming floors--the mini blinds were cleaned, baseboards washed, refrigerator washed/sanitized, windows cleaned, and all the decorations were removed from shelves for dusting. We power washed the front and rear decks and stairways. I could go on but hopefully you have a sense of our efforts. Imagine our surprise when she complained. In retrospect, she was looking for us to rebate a portion of her rental fee. She did apparently find some salad dressings in the refrigerator that were past their “Best if Used By” dates. We have always left basic condiments for tenants to save them money. We will watch the Best By dates more closely in the future. We have a large Plumeria tree next to the driveway. It is deciduous and during the winter it drops leaves continually. The tenant arrived the day before our lawn service came to mow and rake and therefore we heard that the yard was in poor condition. With regards to the pool area, we spent nearly five thousand dollars rescreening the pool enclosure last year. However, keeping it hole-free is a constant battle--which we will continue to wage! The pool enclosure, even with the few small holes the tenant encountered, protected her well against mosquitos and noseeums. The tenant also informed me that her granddaughter had fallen in the hammock swing that is in the pool area. This swing is attached to the floor joist of the second floor deck by a large lag bolt. The only way this could have happened was if she had been allowed to twirl in the swing long enough to cause the lag bolt to unscrew from the joist. This has never been a problem before. We take great pride in our Sanibel home. We are highly responsive to our tenants. (I spent 15-20 minutes on the phone multiple times with this tenant helping her with the TV and WiFi) We have excellent workers who clean the house, maintain the yards and pool, cooling, heat, pest control, etc. This is the first time we have received negative feedback. Wonderful Stay!

This house was a wonderful home base for the month of February. We loved "the quiet" east end location. The beach was a short walk away, and the extensive bike paths were less than a minute away. The house has terrific outdoor living aspects with sliding doors off the main living area that open the entire space up to the screened in porch. We spent many happy hours reading on the porch and enjoying frequent wildlife visitors, including a large gopher tortoise that ambled through the yard one afternoon. We loved our stay at this well-maintained beach home and highly recommend it!
