About Jeremy & Stacy Merrill

Jeremy and I (Stacy), both grew up in the area. Although we went to the same school, we didn't get to know each other until a few years later. We have been married since 2003 and have two boys. We enjoy our life in the country and couldn't think of a better place to raise our family.

Why Jeremy & Stacy Merrill chose Fort Atkinson

This log cabin has a lot of meaning to our family. Jeremy's Dad Tim, took three years to build this cabin (1978-1981). This is the house that Jeremy's parents raised him and his brother in. It wasn't until recently that we found ourselves with an empty log cabin and decided to share it's beauty and serenity with others. We also live out on the property, which is about 140 acres, although our two houses are spread far enough apart that you cannot see one from the other. If you have any questions, feel free to email or call us at (563) 380-8762.

Quiet. Not even the faint sound of cars in the distance. This was true quiet. Hear birds quiet. Listen to leaves in the wind quiet.

And the house was gorgeous. Clean. Super comfy bedding. Big tv with cozy seating. Lovely fireplace. Amazing windows and views.

We will be back. Loved it.

Beautiful, cozy, clean cabin

  • 5 of 5

What a perfect, cozy cabin. The cabin itself is stunning. The three bedrooms were spacious and comfy. We spent our mornings drinking the fresh, local coffee provided and sitting by the fireplace. The kitchen was well stocked with any utensils, dishes, and pans necessary. The cabin was also stocked with board games and DVDs. Everything was perfectly clean. Huge deck with a great view and an outdoor fire pit. Half hours drive to Decorah for dining, shopping, or wineries/breweries. Great for a weekend getaway in Iowa!

Nice cabin far away from noisy cities

  • 5 of 5

It was a very nice, clean, and well-furnished cabin. We really enjoyed our stay. Wish there was a hot tub though.

Another wonderful time here

  • 5 of 5

Third time here and still love it! Hubby was disappointed that the wood burning fireplace was switched out but still loved our time here. Stacy was great to communicate with as normal and cabin was super clean.

Gorgeous cabin, amazing getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed for an early Christmas and had the most wonderful time! The location is perfect for anyone looking to get away for some peace and quiet, but it’s also close to Decorah which made for a fun day trip! This beautiful log cabin has everything you could ever need: lovely decor (including gorgeous Christmas decorations!), comfy beds in spacious bedrooms, a cozy fireplace, well equipped kitchen (with great local coffee!) and countless other amenities. Not to mention how clean and well-kept everything was! Stacy was always quick to respond and was willing to work with us on our check-out time which as so helpful! She was also a great resource for restaurant recommendations. We can’t wait to come back!
