About Janis Denner
I love Paso Robles both for it's beauty and it's comfortable pace. I purchased the property in 2014 and did an aggressive remodel to the property and the winery's tasting room. I am an active person who enjoys hiking, horseback riding ( my two horses are often seen on the property), fitness, golf and WINE!
Janis Denner purchased this Cottage in 2014
Why Janis Denner chose Paso Robles
You will love the location of this cottage and property. It is rural, yet very close to town, restaurants, bars, and other wineries. It's truly a perfect location if you enjoy privacy and being in a rural vineyard setting, yet want the conveniences of a nearby town.
What makes this Cottage unique
VINEYARD views EVERYWHERE, close to all the Westside winery action. Spacious, private cottage, waiting for you!!

My husband and I stayed for 5 nights at the vineyard cottage in January 2018. It was very comfortable and just the right size for two people. The furnishings are beautiful and the bed is very comfortable. The owner was very helpful in directing us to places where we could taste wines that are not commercially available in stores or restaurants. She also recommended excellent places to eat. We had a very restful and most enjoyable vacation.
Cottage Retreat in the Vineyard
This absolutely charming one bedroom cottage is surrounded by the beautiful vineyards at the Pelletierre Winery. The fully equipped cottage is delightful and the spacious patio offers great views. We thoroughly enjoyed the fine wines, a friendly environment, and the peacefulness of the countryside.
Thank you for taking the time to review your visit. It was such a pleasure to have you enjoy our cottage. It does have amazing views! See you next time...
Perfect place to stay in wine country
Beautiful property with gorgeous views! Great location and tons of winieries nearby! Make sure you stop by their tasting room as well. Loved their wine and ended purchasing a case to take home!
You guys were the best! We're so happy you enjoyed your stay and our wines. We hope to see you again very soon. Thank you!
Beautiful - would recommend to friends and family too
We rented the farmhouse and the cottage next door, 3 couples, it was great, nicely appointed. We liked the location, being close to the wineries, we could go out during the day and explore and come back and sit on the back patio overlooking the vines of the Pelletiere Estate and sip our wines. We could cook in the kitchen or BBQ if we chose. When the sun went down we could enjoy the beautiful stars above, something we don't often get to see in the city.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback. It was a pleasure having you and your friends on the property, I do hope you'll stay again!
Good location, average lodging.
We stayed Tuesday- Friday at the cottage. The cottage is in a very convenient location to visit the wineries in the area. There are at least 15 wineries within 5 miles. Those are the good aspects of the cottage. There was toothpaste residue (yuk!) in the bathroom sink from the previous guests and the bath towels were as thick as 1- ply paper towels. The drinking glasses were 2 glass jars and we couldn't keep the sliding glass door open because there wasn't a screen door (numerous flies). There was a dead rat carcass next to the picnic tables in front of the tasting room for the three days we were there. We were the first and only 2 guests in the tasting room when it opened on Thursday morning. My wife and I each had 4 very small tastings of the wine offered in the tasting room and then were told that we owed $30 for the tastings! So we paid $817 for three nights in the cottage with our small dog and we still had to pay $30!! Guests at the "Farmhouse" next door get a complimentary bottle of wine. Oh well!
Thank you for your feedback, I do wish you would have mentioned your concerns during your visit. Doing so, would have made your stay more enjoyable. I did provide you with my personal cell and asked that you call or text me. The towels as stated in the cottage, our Turkish fouta's, we do however have have plush towels available if you had a preference. Also, glassware is stored in the cabinet above the microwave, you may have missed it, but there is a full supply of wine and tall beverage glasses. I can also assure you our houses are cleaned very throughly and professionally, by a team that has been providing serbice for years, if they missed somehting, I am sure it was isolated and should not be taken as a reflcetion on the cleanliness of the entire house.Thank you again for your feedback and your stay. It certainly helps us do a better job, I'm truly sorry this stay did not meet your expectations.
We enjoyed our 4-night stay in the Vineyard Cottage. It is a great location for touring nearby wineries or setting out on a hike. The views are amazing in the morning (where we frequently sat outside on the back deck with breakfast and enjoyed the sunrise through the vines) and evening (beautiful glow filtered through the oaks). Low noise as traffic is a good distance away. Kitchen is well equipped for stay-at-home eating. Bedroom is good size and the bed is fine. Window A/C unit in bedroom but there is no fixed unit in the living/kitchen space (host graciously purchased a portable as the temps skyrocketed into the 100s while we were there). Access to town is via the 46/101 and only takes about 10 minutes. Furnishings will need to be upgraded in the coming years as wear is showing. TV service needs improving. Cottage is on well water so bottled water is provided by host. Being amidst a working vineyard and tasting room is a definite plus to those enchanted by the viticultural lifestyle. We brought our lap dog and the host was very accommodating. Recommended.
Paso Robles is a great town for sightseeing and taking in the countryside. The town is also excellent for foodies and wine lovers. There's are 200+ wineries in Paso Robles and a town full of great restaurants. The ocean is a beautiful 25 minute drive on one road. There are many activities to do in Cambria, or Morro Bay from water sports to art galleries to hiking. Hearst castle is another attraction which is close by.
