The pool offers hours of fun, bring an inflatable, swim from morning until sundown..or beyond! Your pool is safe,with steps leading to the shallow end. The shallow end measures 85 cm,the deepest is 135cm. Mark cleans the pool daily, he keeps it crystal clear and clean. The pool is available for use all year long, it is situated in a sunny position. In summer the water temperature is warm ,heated by the sun.
Your self contained home includes a fully fitted kitchen for self catering.
Enjoy a Nespresso coffee on the terrace, the machine is provided.
The lounge and kitchen are open plan, with double french doors leading to the outdoor terrace. The ground floor bathroom has a bath,toilet, sink, and large walk in shower.
Wheelchair access to all the ground floor rooms including the bathroom. The pool is also accessible by wheelchair.
On the first floor you have a king size double bedroom with lots of wardrobe space.
The single bed twin bedroom (2 beds) also has a large wardrobe.
You have a bathroom on the first floor with a sink ,shower and toilet.

The medieval, World Heritage city of Tomar is an hours drive from Casa Lerryn.(An easy drive on the A13 .The motorways here are quiet, even in the summer. )
Tomar has cobbled streets leading to individual boutiques, cafes and bars.
Nestled on the river, the waterfront is romantic and picturesque. It is famous for its magnificent medieval castle, Convento Do Cristo, built by the Templar Knights.
The university city of Coimbra is also easily reached.(1 hour on the A 13) Coimbra has a large shopping forum with international restaurant chains and designer outlet's.
Coimbra has the oldest university in Europe, with an historic library and underground crypts, a delight to discover on a hot summers day.
The old town has narrow streets, with quirky stores, international restaurants and trendy bars.
"Venice of Portugal!" the pretty city of Aveiro has charming canal boats that offer pleasant trips along its ancient waterways. Aveiro is vibrant, colourful with plenty of fish restaurants offering their fresh catch of the day.
Hire a bike ,the city is flat with pedestrian areas. Discovering the towns history of salt production.
For nature lovers, Aviero has estuary reserves with hides, walkways and watchpoints. Just over an hour to reach on motorways.
Near Aveiro is Agueda, a town of bright colours using street art and umbrellas.
Praia Vieira and Praia Pedrogao are just 2 of the many white sandy beaches ,just over an hours drive from Casa Lerryn.
These are natural beaches that showcase the rugged coastline and clean shorelines.
We love the seaside wooden huts that serve fresh fish, including their seasonal specialty ,sardines. Eating & drinking beside the dramatic Atlantic Ocean, wonderful!
Favourite formal gardens include the impressive Baroque garden, Jardin Do Paco in Castelo Branco, The Bucaco Palace and Coimbra University Gardens.
Dornes is an unspoiled ancient hamlet,its centuries old church was built during Arab rule and later by the Templar Knights. The church towers over the breathtaking river, which curves around the town. Delight in the peace and natural beauty by strolling around the village, restaurants serve food, coffee and wine. Its a 30 minute drive on the N238,a pretty journey through typical Portuguese villages.
Fatima
Fátima is a small town in central Portugal, famous for its religious significance and miraculous events. Millions of pilgrims and tourists visit Fátima every year to see the sanctuary and the place where the Virgin Mary appeared to three shepherd children in 1917. 1 and a half hour from Casa Lerryn

Set beside the river,Ponte Romano serves authentic Portuguese cuisine. Its wholesome & plentiful. Guests return because of its fantastic value for money.
Next door to Ponte Romano is a characterful outdoor bar ,O Palheiro. Here you can watch the sun set over the shimmering river, a beautiful setting to try petiscos such as garlic prawns ,chorizo ,fresh fish and local cheeses. A litre jug of good house wine is amazing value,so is beer and sangria.
Lagar restaurant is also a riverside location. Guests never tire of their home made pizzas, the favourite is seafood. The children's menu has familiar favourites including Carbonaro, chips & burgers!
Activities
Praia Das Rocas- Children love waterparks!, near Sertá we have a fun filled resort that offers waves ,boating ,zip wiring and safe swimming. Its been a favourite for families staying at Casa Lerryn,and only under a 30 minute drive through scenic olive groves and Portuguese villages.
For more organized water sports guests have travelled further afield to try water canyoning. Wet suits ,neoprene socks, protective equipment, backpacks and watertight containers are provided. Kids and adults have loved the exhilarating experience, run by qualified and knowledgeable experts.
Walking trails/Guided Walks
The region is proud of its natural beauty spots and has developed scenic trails and boardwalks which make walking a pleasure. We have guided maps which link to GPS.From Casa Lerryn you can walk up into the woods and feel miles from anywhere. Sertá has an impressive river with walking trails along its banks, shaded by ancient trees.

For property hunters ,our central location is also convenient. We would be happy to signpost prospective buyers to registered estate agents and other agencies with local knowledge.

Casa Lerryn is visited by many species of birds throughout the year. The Hoopoe with his colourful crest, Herons, Booted Eagles and Buzzards that glide above us looking for prey. Smaller birds include Linnets, Redstarts, Siskens,Pied Wagtails and Woodpeckers. Keen birdwatchers have brought along their books and share their passion of wildlife with us.

Sertá is a gateway to historic towns, clear rivers, dramatic mountains and clean, eucalyptus scented air.

Porto and Lisbon are a 2 hour drive from Casa Lerryn. Both cities are great for sight seeing, afterwards you can relax in the serenity of Casa Lerryn.
