A renovated, detached eighteenth century house, located in an exceptional setting at the edge of the Aigronne River in a small village, half-way between the Loire Valley Châteaux and Futuroscope, not far from the Royal City of Loches. Three villages listed among the Most Beautiful Villages of France (Montresor, Angles-sur-Anglin and the Crissay-sur-Manse) are also within striking distance. This beautiful old farmhouse benefits from a sunny exposure in a beautiful landscaped 2 acre park. The (trout-filled) Aigronne river runs through the grounds of the garden, ideal for fishing enthusiasts and nature lovers.

A lovely and peaceful property. We really enjoyed the very large garden and playing in the river. The property is really well equipped and had everything you needed for a great stay. We would definitely like to come and stay again.

Beautiful peaceful stay

We had a wonderful, restful two weeks. The house has large, quiet gardens with a lovely river flowing through. No negatives whatsoever, but it is a quiet area so be prepared for peace rather than activities.

Lovely House, Lovely Garden.

Perfect house in an amazing nature garden. Small mammals, birds, and insects abound. We spent a few afternoons after returning from our days out, sitting by the river. The Demoiselles were stunning to watch, with their wings glinting in the sunshine. Some lovely villages less than an hour's drive away to visit. We were in our element!

Wonderfully relaxing

We spent two fantastic weeks at the cottage and enjoyed every moment. The house was excellent and thoughtfully equipped. The garden was a delight and full of wildlife and places to while away time and unwind. The tranquility was exceptional. The local area was full of interest and all we needed. Highlights included Loches and it’s market, river swimming at Barrou, old Tours, Chinon and much more. All communication was easy and helpful. We can’t recommend this delight enough.

Séjour calme, agréable à la campagne

Dommage que le boucher charcutier ait fermé, pas de ravitaillement de proximité, surtout légumes et fruits ! Il faut juste prévoir. La maison bien équipée et l'environnement très agréable ont permis de passer un excellent séjour en famille, tel que je l'avais imaginé entre jeunes enfants, (pas d ado.... ) Bon point de départ pour les visites culturelles.

Absolutely Wonderful!

What a delightful experience, it was our first time to Le Petit-Pressigny and it was amazing. Such a beautiful area of France and the property was perfect! The hosts Damien and Nicola were brilliant, extremely helpful and welcoming. Our stay in their beautiful house was an experience we won't forget. The house was superbly equipped and the setting was stunning, with a great garden, pretty little stream and very freindly sheep which the kids had a great time feeding. The village was great and everyone was extremely welcoming! We would love to go back! Thank you for a great exerience we will remeber forever. Andrew, Charlotte and family.

Vacances bucoliques

Notre séjours à “La Savoureuse” fut des plus agréables! La maison est très bien équipé: - Tout l’électroménager nécessaire - Une très bonne literie approuvé par tout le groupe - et même un set de 8 boules de pétanques (terrain à 20 mètres de la maison) Le jardin et magnifique et si l’été 2021 avait été plus généreux nous aurions encore plus profité de la rivière dans laquelle il est possible de se rafraîchir !! Barbecue, plancha et brasero éprouvé et approuvé ! Bref, une super location pour passer de bonne vacances entre amis et en famille. A 1h en voiture de plein d’activité: Chambord, Beauval, Futuroscope et Tours et a seulement 5 minutes à vélos de fromagerie où le fromage de chèvres est délicieux ! Cordialement Robin

Excellent séjour dans cette ravissante maison, très confortable, parfaitement équipée et idéalement située. Damien a été disponible et vraiment arrangeant, nous avons été très bien accueillis. La région est par ailleurs superbe pour qui aime la nature et souhaite découvrir un patrimoine historique/culturel très riche. Il nous faudra revenir pour poursuivre cette belle découverte. Perfect getaway

We just had a wonderful stay at Nicola and Damien's home! Everything was well-equiped and beautifully appointed, honestly everything was perfect. Our stay was in December and we were very cosy sitting at the fireplace and cooking big meals in the large farmhouse kitchen, but I can see how the property would be very inviting during the warmer months as well, with the stream, fruit trees, and extensive outdoor property (oh, and the sheep!). Nicola and Damien were warm and attentive hosts, immediatey responsive when we had questions. Cannot recommend this property strongly enough; we can't wait to go back again!

La Savoureuse at Le Petit-Pressigny, France

I just can't say enough positive things about this cottage in the Loire Valley of France. If you're looking for a central location that has easy access to all the great Chateaus of the Loire Valley, this is it. Great cottage with everything you need located in a beautiful french village, Le Petit-Pressigny. This is what you imagine a french village would look like, quaint doesn't even begin to describe it. Nicola and Damien, the owners, are just a text or phone call away, very responsive and eager to help.

A Lovely House in a Pretty Setting

My husband and I have just spent two wonderfully relaxing weeks in this little gem of a house in Touraine. It was clean and well equipped and exactly as it looks on the website! Nicola and Damien made the whole booking and arrival system very easy and we were confident that both they and the housekeeper would be on hand if needed. Le Petit Pressigny is a lovely little village with two excellent restaurants, one Michelin starred and the other fantastic value for a fixed price lunch. Both excellent in their own ways, with very friendly staff. As was Le Saint Mande in Ferrière-Larçon. Not to be missed! And if you like goat’s cheese there is a farm selling the best I’ve ever tasted, just up the road. The whole area is great for cycling, unless you go in a heatwave as we did! Instead we enjoyed the air conditioning in the great selection of supermarkets nearby while stocking up on our favourite things to take home. I would happily return.

Lovely Loire.

The house is very private and quiet (as we like it) with a lovely living, kitchen and dining area. The garden is also a very large and private area. It is a great base for exploring the surrounding area and we loved the many lakes of the Brenne and beautiful villages such as Angles-sur-l’Anglin. You will not be disappointed if you are lucky enough to discover this cottage!

What a fabulous place!

We had the most fabulous time in Le Petit-Pressigny - it really is an idyllic cottage in an idyllic location. We have 3 children aged between 12 and 6 - and there is so much to keep them entertained - from the table tennis and petanque, to the boat - and also we used the bikes available in the house to go on cycle rides. You really get the feeling of being away from it all - yes you can drive 30-60 mins and be amongst the tourist hot spots, but we really didn't feel like that a lot of the time - as it was so relaxing to just potter around the cottage and its gigantic grounds. We just booked one week, but regretted not having two. The kitchen is very well equipped - including an induction hob, and my husband was pleased to master making a good latte with the coffee machine. We ate food from the local markets and farms (the owners provide a very good guide on where to get the best local produce). I honestly can't recommend this place enough. Thank you Damien and Nicola for some amazing memories and for sharing your wonderful house!

Lovely House in quiet area

We enjoied our stay here very much, the house in lovely, there is so much space around the house and you are in a save distance from the crowded tourist hot spots at the loire, but you can easily drive there if you like. The owner have a folder with exellent tipps about what to do and how far away it is. Just note, you have to pay extra for every bed sheet and towel, there are no kitchen towels, so better bring your own.

Quiet and charming

Charming cottage in a great location. Just what the doctor ordered for a relaxing vacation and only steps away from La Promenade an amazing restaurant. We did our grocery shopping in Ligueil a short distance away.

Schönes Haus mit kleinen Defiziten

Leider gleich bei der Anreise etwas Ärger, die Anfahrtsinformationen waren nicht korrekt (Koordinaten für das Navi führten zu einer kleinen Kreuzung fast 1 km entfernt und die Hausnummer stimmte nicht. Das Haus liegt etwas zurückgesetzt, was schön ist aber es gab auch kein Hinweisschild am Straßenrand. Daher irrten wir fast 20 Minuten umher, an das Telefon ging niemand. Als wir das Haus endlich fanden wurden wir freundlich empfangen, leider sprach die Dame nur französich. Da die Kommunikation mit dem Besitzer zuvor auf Englisch erfolgte war dies überraschend und führte zu ein paar Informationslücken. Das Haus selber und der Garten sind wirklich schön, und sehr sauber und gepflegt. Wir haben noch nie eine so perfekt und gut eingerichtete Küche in einem Ferienhaus gehabt. Alle Geräte sind neu und modern. Man braucht wirklich garnichts mitzubringen (außer Geschirrtücher und Duschvorleger - sowas gibt es nicht) Hier ein großes Lob! Die Schlafräume waren liebevoll eingerichtet, leider fehlt in der Hausbeschreibung die Information das eines der zwei oben liegenden Schlafzimmer keine Trenntür zum Bad besitzt, das bedeutet, das die Bewohner des zweiten Schlafzimmers im Obergeschoss die Wahl haben das untere (weit entfernte)Bad zu benutzen oder mit den Bewohnern des 1. Schlafzimmers ein sehr intimes Verhältnis haben müssen. Eine einfache Schiebetür oder wenigstens ein Vorhang würden Abhilfe schaffen und wären bautechnisch möglich. Bis dahin sollte eine diesbezügliche Information in der Hausbeschreibung stehen. Einen dritten Kritikpunkt habe ich noch. Die abgebildeten Gartenmöbel (Lehnstühle am Tisch und die modernen Relaxliegen gibt es nicht. Das war für unsere älteren mitreisenden Damen etwas unbequem. Die vorhandenen Stoff Liegestühle waren stockfleckig. Trotz meiner 3 Kritikpunkte gebe ich 4 Sterne, alles andere war nämlich wunderbar!!!

Excellent

We spent a wonderful week in Le Petit Pressigny. The house was very clean, well-equipped and a great place to stay to visit the Loire region. We spent a lot of our time in the beautiful garden where we saw a huge variety of wildlife including a red squirrel, hedgehog, numerous birds and butterflies. We would have loved to have stayed longer in order to explore the area immediately around Le Petit Pressigny. With visits to some of the many chateaux that are in easy driving distance of the house, there was too much to do in one week. In particular we would have liked to make use of the bikes kindly provided by the owners to ride out to some of the neighbouring villages. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely house and would not hesitate to recommend it.

Une excellente adresse

Nous avons passé une merveilleuse semaine dans cette maison ravissante et très accueillante. Tout a été parfait, l’accueil cordial du propriétaire à notre arrivée, l’aménagement harmonieux de la maison, où rien ne manque (la cuisine est très généreusement équipée, l’installation hifi est de qualité, deux stations ipod sont à disposition, la literie est impeccable, les salles de bain très confortables). Une bibliothèque variée, une CDthèque bien fournie, la chaleur du feu de bois… un rêve pour qui veut se reposer. Nous n’avons pas vraiment profité du vaste parc car la saison ne s’y prêtait pas, mais il promet de jolis moments en été. Le village est charmant et la situation de la maison, au cœur de la Touraine du Sud, permet de découvrir toutes les richesses de cette magnifique région. En quittant la Savoureuse, on n’a qu’une envie : y revenir très vite. Merci encore au propriétaire qui a été d’une disponibilité chaleureuse dès le premier contact et qui s'attache avec beaucoup d'attention au confort de ses hôtes.
