About mike white

We are Ann and Mike, live in Tampa, Fl and enjoy the 'Peaceful Place' about 4 times a year.

mike white purchased this chalet in 2005

Why mike white chose Gatlinburg

We didn't intend to buy a house, but we had been coming to the Gatlinburg area once a year for many years. We especially loved the National Forest and the quaint town. We took one look at the view of 'Peaceful Place' and knew that we were hooked. It looks straight out at Mt. LeConte which we had hiked many times in the past. The view can't be beaten!

What makes this chalet unique

This home has the amazing view, great hot tub, fireplace, laundry, Jacuzzis, king beds, everything you could want in a get-away. The kitchen is well equipped.....and your enjoyment is very important to us!

The view from the back deck was incredible!!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was amazing. From the drive on the way there (we saw 2 baby bears and a wild turkey! And it's way up there in the mountains!) To everything the cabin offered. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck- watching the sunrise over the mountains was just amazing. Being able to cook some of our own meals was great. And the hot tub on the deck at night was so relaxing- and you can see the stars so clear! It was a relaxing weekend getaway for my husband and I and we will definitely be returning!

Perfect view and pleasant home!

  • 5 of 5

The view is beyond amazing, and the home is very welcoming and cozy! Coffee on the deck overlooking the majestic mountains was a highlight both day and night. Mike was a great help with everything, and was incredibly patient when I ended up calling him on more than one occasion with questions- during which he gave suggestions of what was best to do within the time frame we had! The home is only several minutes from downtown Gatlinburg, altho, as stated earlier, the view was so beautiful that we often didn't want to leave the home!

Thanks, Mike, for sharing your home and your advice! We will surely refer others to you!

Great view and comfort

  • 5 of 5

Comfortable place with easy access and beautiful view of LeConte & Chimney Tops. The lights of Gatlinburg are pretty at night, too. The tram to Ober passes at a distance below, but not within privacy ranges.

It was a great Spring Break location for our family of 4 with two high schoolers. The kitchen had all the necessary items to cook meals. Mike, the owner was also very responsive and quick to help get an unexpected maintenance issue resolved. Thanks, Mike.

This is definitely a great place to stay again and we are so glad it was untouched by the 2016 fires.

The View is really great, the hot tub on the deck was fun and the chalet was clean.

We really enjoyed our stay! The Smokey Mountain National Park was really memorable. The Chalet was great to come back to after hiking - to make a large home cooked meal and relax in the hot tub.

President's Day Weekend getaway.

  • 4 of 5

A perfect view of Mt. LeConte. Close to downtown Gatlinburg, and therefore close to the park and all the great hiking that the Smokies have to offer. Upon completion of a hike, the hot tub on the deck awaits for a comforting soak. We will definitely want to return.

Ober Gatlinburg

This cabin is located just a few blocks from the Ober Gatlinburg recreational facility. This is a snow skiing mecca in the winter, but provides ice skating and lots of fun activities year-round. There is an enclosed sky lift that will take you downtown and back with beautiful views of the area. You will not want to miss the Motor Nature Trail, off of which are many good hiking trails. The serious hiker should consider taking at least part of the Alum bluff cave trail going part way or all the way to the top of Mt. LeConte. An easier trail would be to hike to Laurel Falls. Be sure to see the Visitor Center at the South end of Gatlinburg. And a few hours spent in Cades Cove always promises animal sightings and the beauty of a quiet valley. This chalet is located only a few blocks from an entrance, however obscure, to a lovely hiking trail through the Great Smoky Mountain Natl Park. The entrance is off of St Moritz, several blocks up the hill from this cabin. Beyond the great views of this cabin is the close proximity of the National Forest; you are always just a few minutes from the peace and beauty of the forest.
