About mike white

We are Ann and Mike, live in Tampa, Fl and enjoy the 'Peaceful Place' about 4 times a year.

mike white purchased this chalet in 2005

Why mike white chose Gatlinburg

We didn't intend to buy a house, but we had been coming to the Gatlinburg area once a year for many years. We especially loved the National Forest and the quaint town. We took one look at the view of 'Peaceful Place' and knew that we were hooked. It looks straight out at Mt. LeConte which we had hiked many times in the past. The view can't be beaten!

What makes this chalet unique

This home has the amazing view, great hot tub, fireplace, laundry, Jacuzzis, king beds, everything you could want in a get-away. The kitchen is well equipped.....and your enjoyment is very important to us!

The first evening about 6pm we had a moma and 3 cubs in the front yard. only about 40 ft from us. they completely ignored us and just ate and played for about 5 minutes. we saw them farther away another day. Gatlinburg is one of my favorite places so was convienent for everything we wanted to do. spent lots of time in the Smokies. great time thanks for the oppertunity

Great view, clean, perfect zise.

While looking on line for a cabin, I came a across this cabin, wasn't too convineced at first but I booked it anyway. I was chocked, in our first day to the cabin we saw bears going through the trees and cabins. When we got to our cabin, I was amazed. The pictures on line dont do the cabin justice. We loved it. Clean. Spacious. The view on the back patio, is just breath taking. While we were out in the patio we saw the bears in the backyard again. Amazing. We loved it.

Great Location

We had a great time, and it was very relaxing. We kept missing the neighborhood bear. That would have been a treat. Beautiful view.

The view from the back deck was incredible!!

This cabin was amazing. From the drive on the way there (we saw 2 baby bears and a wild turkey! And it's way up there in the mountains!) To everything the cabin offered. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck- watching the sunrise over the mountains was just amazing. Being able to cook some of our own meals was great. And the hot tub on the deck at night was so relaxing- and you can see the stars so clear! It was a relaxing weekend getaway for my husband and I and we will definitely be returning!

Ober Gatlinburg

This cabin is located just a few blocks from the Ober Gatlinburg recreational facility. This is a snow skiing mecca in the winter, but provides ice skating and lots of fun activities year-round. There is an enclosed sky lift that will take you downtown and back with beautiful views of the area. You will not want to miss the Motor Nature Trail, off of which are many good hiking trails. The serious hiker should consider taking at least part of the Alum bluff cave trail going part way or all the way to the top of Mt. LeConte. An easier trail would be to hike to Laurel Falls. Be sure to see the Visitor Center at the South end of Gatlinburg. And a few hours spent in Cades Cove always promises animal sightings and the beauty of a quiet valley. This chalet is located only a few blocks from an entrance, however obscure, to a lovely hiking trail through the Great Smoky Mountain Natl Park. The entrance is off of St Moritz, several blocks up the hill from this cabin. Beyond the great views of this cabin is the close proximity of the National Forest; you are always just a few minutes from the peace and beauty of the forest.
