About this property

The charm of an old sheepfold 5' from Espelette facing the Basque Mountains

This completely renovated former sheepfold is located at the very end of a cul-de-sac on a small road in the hills above Itxassou and Cambo-les-Bains, just 2 kilometers from each village. In a protected, peaceful, and beautiful setting, the only view from the house is the Basque mountain range, which stretches out before the windows and terrace. In the foreground, facing the cottage, a vast sloping meadow often shelters our neighbor's beautiful flock of sheep.
The cottage, nestled under ancient oak trees, faces due south and boasts a large terrace overlooking the mountains bordering Spain. Tasteful décor and complete comfort have been incorporated throughout. Between the sea and the mountains, in the heart of the "real" Basque Country and its charming villages, there are a wealth of activities and destinations to explore. The ideal location, just 25 minutes from the sea and in the heart of the traditional inland Basque Country, allows you to easily alternate between activities and discovering all facets of our beautiful Basque Country. Bernard and Fafa, the owners, are passionate about their region. They live in a separate house on the same property, about fifty meters away, but neither house disturbs the other. They are always available to offer advice, suggestions for hikes, or recommendations for good restaurants.

Hidden gem

This "gite" is a hidden gem. Very nice, cosy, all amenities - and what a view... The hosts are extremely welcoming and gave us amazing tips on the neighborhood and the region. Too bad our stay was so short, but hopefully we'll be able to be back

Perfect peaceful retreat

Nous avons apprécié chaque moment de notre séjour! Le lieu correspondait totalement à ce que nous aimons, calme et superbe vue! El alojamiento de Bernard y Fafa es realmente delicioso. Tiene el tamaño ideal para una pareja. El emplazamiento es perfecto, alejado del ruido pero cerca de todo. Aunque Bernard y Fafa estaban fuera de vacaciones durante nuestra estancia, todo resultó perfecto.

Una casa idónea para descansar, en un entorno rural super tranquilo. Las vistas espectaculares, y el propietario, Bernard, muy atento y dispuesto a resolver cualquier cosa que necesites. Muy recomendable.

Calme, cosi, paysage magnifique, proche de la mer et de la montagne. Et un accueil agréable et chale

Nous avons eu la chance d’apprécier ce joli havre de paix sous un soleil radieux. Il est très facile de faire des excursions vers l’Espagne, San Sebastien, saint jean de Luz, Biarritz et vers l’intérieur, Luz Saint Sauveur et Iraty. Après une bonne journée de balade, quel plaisir de se reposer dans la jolie bergerie!

Un endroit magique !

Une ravissante maison, dans un cadre absolument revivifiant. Pour les amoureux de la nature, c'est l'endroit idéal, pour offrir, une déconnexion et découvrir le paysage du Pays Basque. Un grand coup de coup de coeur pour cette maison et ses propriétaires charmants et très discrets, et les habitants de Itxassou et de Combo-les-bains que nous avons croisé. Vous pouvez réserver les yeux fermés, le gîte est très confortable et conforme aux photos. Vous bénéficierez en plus des précieux conseils de Bernard et Fafa qui sont adorables. Très belle découverte!

bergerie pleine de cachet devant un très beau paysage

de l'espace et du cachet dans ce grand gite aménagé avec gout et authenticité. c'est fonctionnel et complet au niveau de l'équipement. une taille "prononcée" des arbustes devant la terrasse devrait permettre de jouir pleinement d'une vue magnifique. les rideaux du salon cache un peu la vue et assombrissent un peu la pièce, mais au final on y est peu. la cuisine et la terrasse, pièces à vivre sont très agréables. très content de notre séjour. cathy & matthieu

Très bonne semaine, dans un gîte charmant . Terrasse face aux montagnes . Randonnées pour tous les niveaux à proximité. Bernard est de très bons conseils sur les randonnées à faire, les coins à voir. Nous avons passé une très bonne semaine que nous n oublierons pas. Quel dommage de partir!

Gite très bien placé entre mer et montagne et petite montagne dans un site lumineux à l'écart des gr

gite très agréable qui convient à un séjour d'été ( la terrasse, le four à bois extérieur et son haut vent ) et d'hiver ( four à bois intérieur très agréable en plus du chauffage dans chaque pièce ) vue imprenable sur les monts alentour propriétaire discrets mais toujours disponibles et très affables

La maison du bonheur

Charmant petit gîte idéalement situé

Maison très bien agencée et restaurée à merveille. Un séjour très lumineux avec une vue magnifique sur les montagnes. Tout y est pour passer un super séjour. Randos devant le gîte ou à 5min en voiture. En 25 min, on est à Biarritz...quoi demander de plus? La cuisine est également bien équipée pour les cuisiniers:-) On y reviendra sûrement aux beaux jours pour profiter de la terrasse avec vue et du barbecue! Accueil sympa et privilégié aussi grâce à Réglisse!
