And in winter, you can have your pick of four area resorts - Squaw Valley, Northstar, Homewood, and Alpine Meadows are all within a 20-minute drive.

Basic old condo... don't expect to cook or watch TV
If you just want a roof over your head and a bathroom, this place is for you! If you are hoping to cook meals and relax by watching a movie or TV, dont expect much. The owners need to update the kitchen tools and appliances, furniture, and entertainment system. Otherwise, the place is fine.
Stay at Saint Francis lakeside condo.
Two of our families stayed here for Christmas vacation. The three bedrooms were large enough to fit 8 members . The location is very close to Squaw, Tahoe City and Kings beach which we liked the most.<br />
There was small issue with water clogging in one of the bathroom which was fixed by Vacasa once we called them.<br />
Overall the stay was very pleasant .
Excellent Location / Features / Price
We were very pleased with the property, however, in this instance that the property was not thoroughly cleaned or inspected prior to arrival. While we were certainly in the off-season, there were dozens upon dozens of dead and living house flies in the loft. This would have been impossible to miss. Beautiful location, close to TC. This was a short trip for a Spartan Race, for which it was perfect. However, on a longer stay, we would have flagged this upon arrival.
The unit has been deep cleaned, and we will continue tackling the flies. Thanks!
Lake Forest Condo #41-Outdated Unit in a Great Location
First off, working with the rental company VACASA was a 5 STAR experience. Their staff answer phones, return calls, and do their utmost to help guests have an enjoyable vacation. The Lake Forest Condo #41 that we rented through VACASA deserves only 2 rating, but because of the fantastic location and the professional service of VACASA, our party of four bumped up the rating to a 3.
*The location in the Lake Forest Condo area is perfectly situated off the main road, yet close to Tahoe City and Kings Beach. The lake is literally a two minute walk away down a path and can be seen when sitting on the edge of the upstairs balcony. We also loved the condo’s proximity to the swimming pool, spa, and tennis courts.
*The HOA common area offers a lovely large lawn for lounging on the edge of the lake, plus a BBQ pit, sand volleyball court, and horseshoe pit.
*There is a pier on the property where a boat can drop you off.
*The kitchen is stocked with all of the cutlery, utensils, plates, pots, and pans necessary.
*There are plenty of towels.
Condo #41 is very run down. It doesn’t look like it has been updated in any way since it was built. This place is in dire need of some TLC. The paint is chipped and nicked in multiple places, the sheets and covers are old and worn, furniture is flea market special. Bathrooms are old, bedrooms are tiny, except for Master which is acceptable. The carpets were incredibly dirty and needs replacing. Many items were broken and need immediate attention including the following:
Upstairs Living Room, kitchen, bathroom:
Window near table has glass frame separating from glass. Very dangerous. Needs to be replaced before someone falls out the window or gets cut.
Sliding glass door screen is detached from the track.
Kitchen drawers need to be repaired as multiple drawers are broken.
Check refrigerator as water leaks at the bottom and the refrigerator doesn’t get cold at the bottom.
Main floor toilet has the handle and the flap not working. Had to take lid off to correct flap so that toilet would flush. Also toilet seat needs to be replaced as it is damaged.
The carpet throughout needs cleaning as it is very dirty.
Upstairs bedroom could use new mattress on trundle bed. Very uncomfortable. Drawers in the bedroom are broken.
Hair Dryer is broken.
Middle bathroom down stairs shower/tub doesn’t drain.
We visited other units on the Lake Forest property that were beautiful and updated. Once this unit is painted, repaired, and remodeled, it will be a great place to stay. Until then, it’s probably good for college students who don’t care about an updated place to vacation.

Dated unit, not clean or maintained at all. Leaking toilets, filthy grill, not accurately promoted.
Our first clue should have been the snow shovel, sled and snow saucer on the deck of front entrance that this is not a cared for unit considering it is the middle of July.
Small back deck was filthy and grill looked like it was left by last renters food stains all over it and a mess.
It was summer and we had to search for screens for most of Windows and sliding screen door was in one of the bedroom closets and attempted to put it in and it was broke.
2nd floor toilet ran continuously. Our second night we were out to dinner and there was a leak so bad from this same toilet and water everywhere. We cleaned it up called immediately.
The next morning we did have 2 guys from the local vacasa office come and look into toilet and sopped up some of the water. The carpets remained damp and moist the entire week.
The toilet continued to run through the week and we were told to just jiggle it to stop the running.
I called first thing Monday with the different issues of the condo as instructed in our check in manual.
One issue as well was a leaking refrigerator each day arrive home to a stream of water in the kitchen.
Internet/Wi-Fi very slow.
I want to mention that every person I spoke with or dealt with was pleasant especially the local guys Mike and Greg.
None of this is their fault it is just a very dated and unmaintained unit.
Our first trip across the country to the Tahoe area would have been almost perfect if not for this completely rundown condo.
I am hoping to hear either from your company regarding a refund.
