The open living / dining room has large windows that look out to Newbury St. and the Prudential Center.

Chefs kitchen with breakfast bar is great since Trader Joes is located just around the corner from the brownstone’s front door.

The master bedroom has a queen size bed and luxurious en-suite master bath with stand-up marble shower.

The second bedroom has a queen size bed and a similar marble stand-up shower.

Two spacious closets with hangers and iron complete each bedroom.

High-speed wireless internet and premium cable package with HBO, SHO, and all other movie channels that Comcast has to offer are included in this beautifully appointed apartment on Gloucester Street.

This 100+ year five-story brownstone was meticulously gut-renovated in 2013 and includes a real estate sales and rental office occupying the first floor and basement that makes check-in a breeze and the office is also happy to accommodate any special requests. This unit is located one-flight up from the brownstone’s front entrance and one penthouse apartment is located above. New coin-operated washer and dryer are available in the basement and we can leave detergent in the unit for you for no charge.

The closest MBTA stops (T or subway) are Hynes Convention Center Station (0.2 miles away) and Copley Station (0.3 miles away), both on the Green Line. The closet Bus Stop is 200 feet away at the corner of Gloucester and Boylston Street (Boylston St opp Gloucester St), which, depending on traffic, offers a two to six minute bus ride (0.6 miles away) to Back Bay Station (Amtrak and Commuter Rail Station).

Two parking options are available.

On-Street: Metered parking is available right in front of the building, which becomes free overnight parking from 8PM to 8AM. During the day, you can only park for up to 2 hours per block ($0.25 per 12 minutes). Please take note of the street cleaning signs. Your car will be towed by the city if you park during the street cleaning hours.

Several neighborhood garages are located around the corner from the building:

•The Prudential Center Garage entrance on East Ring St. and is 1 block away ($40/day)

•Hynes Auditorium Garage @ 50 Dalton St. is 1.5 blocks away ($34/day)

Uber, Hubway Bikes, and the MBTA are the easiest forms of transportation.

The Neighborhood

Centrally located in Boston's historic Back Bay on Gloucester Street between Newbury and Boylston St., our apartment sits steps away from the Hynes Convention Center, the Shops at the Prudential Center and Copley Place Mall, and the boutiques of Newbury and Boylston Street. Our historic Back Bay brownstone is located only a few blocks from the serene Boston Commons and Public Gardens, the Charles River Esplanade, the Boston Public Library, historic Beacon Hill, and the Freedom Trail.

Getting around

The Back Bay neighborhood sits on land reclaimed from water in the mid-nineteenth century. Unlike many other Boston neighborhoods, the Back Bay was laid out in a grid pattern and was based on French urban planning with parks and wide boulevards. The major shopping streets are Newbury Street and Boylston Street in Back Bay and Charles Street and Cambridge Street in Beacon Hill. The former is connected to the Prudential Center and Copley Place malls. Commuter Rail, Amtrak and Orange Line MBTA service are available at Back Bay station. Back Bay Station is a major intermodal center, and with Amtrak service, connects Back Bay to points well beyond Boston, including, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C. The main transit service in the Back Bay is the Green Line central subway, with several stops along Boylston Street, including the Hynes Convention Center (Newbury St. & Mass Ave.) and Copley (Boylston St. & Dartmouth St.) stops.

About Jason Post

Both my wife and I, along with my parents, are long-time Back Bay residents, now living at different ends of Marlborough Street (Mass Ave. and Dartmouth St., respectively) and we are easily able to accommodate any unique requests. Additionally, my mother's residential real estate office, Meridian Realty Group, is located on the ground floor of our Gloucester Street brownstone / townhouse, facilitating easy communication and immediate assistance with any issues. Prior to my current job at an investment consulting and advisory firm, where I focus on identifying top-tier real estate managers for our clients to invest in, I worked for a small firm managing a Saudi Prince's hotel investments across North America and Europe. We managed his interests in the Four Seasons and Fairmont management/operating companies, as well as oversaw his investments in several trophy properties, most notably, NYC's The Plaza, A Fairmont Managed Hotel; The Fairmont San Francisco; Paris' Four Seasons Hotel George V; and London's The Savoy, A Fairmont Managed Hotel. I have taken the same approach we took at my previous firm to managing our personal real estate investments, by providing exceptional service combined with fantastic accommodations in prime locations. If you stay with us during the summer months, we'd love to take you out on our 50-ft yacht for a complimentary afternoon sail and lunch (catered by a restaurant / bar we own) around the Boston Harbor. Also feel free to inquire about special rates on massages and one-on-one personal training sessions at businesses my father runs on Hanover St. in Boston's Quincy Market / Faneuil Hall area (Bodywaves and Fitness Together).

Amazing Apartment in Fabulous Location!

  • 5 of 5

Even though this apartment/condo is exactly as pictured it more charming and wonderful in person. The kitchen, baths and bedrooms are top notch - quality appliances, linens and decor as well as everything you need is there. The location in central Back Bay is amazing - you are close to everything. Jason was extremely responsive and accommodating. Check in and out is easy. It was hard for us to leave after 4 days and we definitley hope to return soon.

Apartment was perfect. Located in a great area surrounded by beautiful shops and restaurants.

The apartment was beautiful, clean and very comfortable. Will definitely rent when I return to Boston. Jason's father was there to greet us, and give us the keys. Jason provided tons of information on the area. Our stay could not have been more perfect. Thank you Jason for making our stay so memorable.

perfect for our visit!

  • 5 of 5

We could not have done better than this spot for our short visit to Boston. Dad & I went to a conference held at Hynes convention center, and we were closer to most sessions than we would have been in an attached hotel. Mom took my nephews on the hop-on, hop-off trolley and duck tours and was able to walk to the library, too. Hopefully our occasional outbursts of arguing-brother-noise and a couple of overtired-4-year-old meltdowns were not a problem for folks in the offices below! The 4yo whispered to me as he went to bed the first night 'I love this apartment, Auntie. I'm glad we are staying here!'

The kitchen is wonderful so we could prep our own meals part of the time, store leftovers, and eat around the counter. Bathrooms were lovely (the shower was fantastic!). bedrooms were lovely, and the air mattress was great too. I thought we'd get by without it, but it was just easier to have one person in the living room at night.

proximity to groceries, restaurants, public transit, and the convention center was incredibly useful, the building is lovely, and the apartment felt incredibly clean and new, while having lovely charming features and personality of older construction. We would absolutely stay here again. The list of suggested dining and activities and all the information provided by the hosts was interesting and helpful.

(we were 5 people - a couple in their 70's, and an almost-40 year old, 8 year old, and 4 year old. All of us were satisfied. (the cable TV was a source of joy for the boys along with the rest of the place!))

Perfect home in a perfect location

  • 5 of 5

The Home exceeded our expectations. We were very comfortable and the location could not have been better. I would recommend this Home to anyone who wants to enjoy the Back Bay of Boston. All the best restaurants were within feet of our location. Also, if you didn’t want to eat out Mario Batali’s Eataly is across the street where you can buy pastas and wine and cook at home while looking out of the bay windows onto the people walking below

Loved it!
