Perfect place for peace & quiet!
The house is very modern & spacious enough for our family of four plus dog. The walk to the lake isn’t bad at all. We drove back and forth for the most part because we took food, dry wood for fire pit, fishing supplies & our essentials as we planned to hang out at the lake most of the day. The lake is beautiful! There are two kayaks, a canoe, two stand up paddle boards and another fishing boat-several life jackets too. Even in late October with chilly weather, there was enough to do at the lake & main house. There are also three mountain bikes at the house for trail riding. The property is so quiet and modern..what a real treasure to find this place. We will definitely be back in the summer for another getaway!
The Minzler's were excellent house guests and treated our home as if were theirs. We're glad that enjoyed the tranquility of Dawson Lake and welcome them back next year.
Better than advertised
The house and property were great.
It's a beautiful setting. Our family enjoyed our stay very much.
Thank you for taking such good care of our home. We hope you enjoyed the pool, lake, sauna and walking trails.
Beautiful and Relaxing
We recently stayed at this beautiful home to help celebrate my Husband's birthday with his family. The house is spectacular and a perfect setting for a relaxing retreat. The views are incredible. We hope to come back in warmer weather to enjoy the beautiful lake and pool. Thank you for helping give my husband a wonderful and memorable birthday weekend with his family!
Beautiful and well equipped house. Incredible views. Just a short walk over to the lake, pool, hot tub and sauna. (Fun even in the winter!) Wonderful and responsive owner and caretakers. I recommend this property wholeheartedly.
Thank you for the kind words. I'm happy you enjoyed your stay. Come back anytime!
quiet, relaxing, comfortable
We enjoyed our time away. The hot tub was nice on the cold December days. We would love to take our girls and visit in the summer. Lewisburg nearby was very nice for meals out. Check in was smooth. The only downside was no wifi because we planned to stream netflix. Instead we did all the puzzles in the house and purchased a few DVDs at the Walmart in Lewisburg
DRIVING FROM CHARLOTTE:
Take I-77 north to Wythesville (1 1/2 hours),
DON'T SPEED IN WYTHESVILLE County, THERE ARE LOTS OF RADAR TRAPS
Get off Exit 40 onto I-64 East towards Lewisburg, go about 30-40 minutes
Take Exit 150, Dawson exit.
Turn right coming off the exit
Turn left at stop sign.
Go 500 feet, turn right at stop sign.
Road winds around, keep going about a mile and a half and you'll see an overpass over the interstate (on the left left), and Dawson Lake sign on the right
Make a sharp right hand turn and u[pthe hill.
When you get to the automatic gate, the code is last 4 digits of your cell no.
After you go through this gate take the first turn to the left
Go over the dam, road will curve to the right
Take the first turn on Dock of the Bay Rd. and head to the pool and beach
Then take first left onto Winding Road. The House is quarter of a mile on the right.
