Overview

About the property

2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 4

Located at the Hale Hui Kai, a beachfront architectural gem of rare beauty on the edge of Wailea, our 3rd floor condo is literally steps from Keawakapu Beach, rated by Condé-Naste as one of the ten best beaches in the world. Tropical landscaped gardens, impeccably maintained, gently lead you to the ocean’s edge.

Perfectly-situated for swimming, paddle-boarding, kayaking, snorkelling, body-surfing, or beach walks. Likewise for simply soaking up the sun, or reading under a palm tree. One can be as active or quiet as one chooses, according to the mood or need.

We offer a welcoming, peaceful space, which we hope is in keeping with its Pacific Ocean setting. Cleanliness and comfort are paramount. We invite you to breakfast on our private lanai, with its views of the ocean and - appropriately enough – the island of Lana’i.

Up to four persons can be comfortably accommodated. Amenities include high-speed broadband internet, and state-of-the-art central air-conditioning. Stunning Brazilian River Stone granite counter-tops enhance our fully-equipped kitchen.

A swimming pool and rotunda are available to all; as the day draws to a close, guests gather on the beach-side lawn, to ‘blow the sun down’ in the tradition of Hawai’i, conch shells sounding the moment of sunset.

Two excellent ocean-side restaurants are within (flat) walking distance, whilst neighboring Wailea’s 1st class Resorts offer top-rated golf courses, tennis courts, or luxury shopping at the Shops at Wailea.

There are no BBQ's on this property. Cleaning fee $150

Reviewer Comments:

Home away from home, this tidy 2 bedroom unit is very well appointed. Right on a perfect beach flanked by multi million dollar homes and thus far less crowded than many of the beaches we visited on Maui. Perfect central location for those that want to explore the many beautiful locations around Maui. Would definitely stay here again!

Fantastic experience -- Great condo, great location, great times

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at this condo rental was really perfect. The condo was in an ideal location, and we had a short walk right onto Keawakapu Beach. There is no road to cross, no parking lot to navigate -- right onto the beach. And right there is a very good lava outcrop that was excellent for some easy snorkeling. We saw 2 sea turtles after being in the water for 20 minutes.

The condo itself is in an excellent location -- a nice walk (maybe 0.5 miles) to a variety of restaurants and shops in Kihei, or a very quick drive to these same destinations. The Kam1, Kam2 and Kam 3 beaches are in this same area, and can be easily walked to if you're traveling light (no beach chairs, etc.), or it's the same quick drive. A full service grocery store (Safeway) is a short drive away, as well as more shops and restaurants.

The condo has everything we needed or would want -- an excellent air conditioner, a communal laundry room in the building just steps away from the condo door, a full set of kitchen necessities (plates, utensils, pans, etc.), wireless internet access, cable tv, etc. The condo also came with just the right amount of beach equipment for us -- beach chairs, 2 boogie boards, etc. Our family -- 2 adults and 2 young teenagers had just the amount of room we needed.

Lastly, Martha was an EXCELLENT host. Everything was taken care of, she was prompt with all correspondence and everything really did work out exactly as we hoped.

If I had to criticize something, I would say that I hated the the condo parking lot because the rental car company gave us a giant SUV, and the condo parking (and all of the Maui parking lots) made it difficult to maneuver and park. But we could have traded the car for something more manageable.

My biggest regret is that we didn't travel to Maui 20 years ago, so I could be bragging about how many times I'd been back. If we come back to Maui, we'll absolutely be looking to stay here again.

Perfect stay

  • 5 of 5

We we not sure what to expect but this had everything . As 2 couples we welcomed the king beds in each room . The A/C is welcomed as many units in the complex do not have one . The kitchen is outfitted with every small gadget you need to make a fabulous meal . When I commented to our manager , Martha there was not a cookie sheet it arrived at my door at 7:30 am !! Martha lives on the site and is always attentive . Free wifi and all the beach tools or umbrella snokels , fins , chairs you could want . The building itself is a Japanese style feels old Hawaiian . The 1st level open to a lounge area where you bring a glass of wine and join other people for the fabulous sunset . The beach area is one of the best in Maui . 3 km of ocean and sand !! We booked in again next year for another week and changed our minds and coming back for 2 weeks !!

Lovely condo, fabulous location

  • 5 of 5

We have been to Maui a few times and stayed at Hale Hui Kai the last two years. This is a very nice unit on the 3rd floor. Well maintained and everything that you could ask for - from a vegetable peeler to espresso machine to towels and beach chairs. Wonderful location right on the beach next to Soreneto's. Beautiful sunsets and cool evening breezes. The A/C, if you need it, cools the condo down very quickly. This is a great location for access to almost everything on Maui. Beach - out the front door. Golf - up the road in Wailea. Snorkel and/or dive, paddle board, kayak ... Also out the front door. Halaleaka is a couple of hours, cruises and other ocean trips about 20 - 30 minutes depending on location. Makena Beach - 10 minutes down the road. Convenient to Kihei but not right in Kihei central.

Definitely a place to return to.

Lovely condo on the beach!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I have been visiting Maui for 23 years, so we are not newbies to the island. However, this was our first stay at this property and it was a delight!

We came with our two teenage children and this condo was just the right size. The property is peaceful and beautiful, a little gem of a place. Walking down the corridor to the beach you are pulled forward by the open air view of a Japanese style garden and fountain with the ocean and sky beyond.

A few small grassy areas with lounge chairs face the beach, there is a nice little pool and a living room style sitting area under the eaves where folks tended to socialize and sip wine at sunset, rain or shine.

The unit is renovated and has all the comforts of home. There is a/c throughout! Two bedrooms, two baths - one with a larger shower and new tile. The kitchen is fully stocked with all you need to cook and serve should you enjoy eating in - which we do! There's a new fridge with an ice maker, a kitchen island and marble counters, microwave, coffee maker, blender, dishwasher - really, everything!

The beds are comfortable, everything everywhere is sparkling clean, including the carpets and tiled floor. The small lanai has a partial view of the ocean, a nice table and four chairs, a small couch and a place to hang wet towels. Inside the couch is a storage area with beach chairs, balls and toys for the pool. A fountain below the lanai adds a nice water sound in addition to the waves from the beach.

There is free wifi, should you want to brag about your vacation on Facebook.

The beach is very nice with small waves and fantastic snorkeling. There are two restaurants on the beach that are easy to walk to - one a cafe and one a high end dinner spot. We used the snorkel rental spot on the beach and were happy with the price and equipment.

This building is small enough that it is quite and peaceful - unlike many of the condo units. The owners are very responsive and are on site to help with whatever you may need.

We hope to come back!
