Great Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This was a great place to stay and play. The perfect home base for skiing at Mt Bachelor or any other activity in the Bend area. The house was VERY clean and well kept up. Some of the appliances and fixtures are a little dated, but everything works great. We had no problems at all during our stay. LOVED the rumble of the trains rolling by. Definitely not intrusive, just adds to the ambience of the place. We would go back again and would also recommend this place to others.

Clean and functional home

  • 4 of 5

This home was exactly as advertised. The house is clean and everything works. Furnishing and appliances are a bit dated, but fine for a vacation home. The location is a few minute walk to the north store. Train comes a few times at night, but it's not a big deal. Frankly, if that makes the rate less for this house, then it's a good trade off in my opinion.

Lovely clean home, but tough to get a good nights sleep!

  • 3 of 5

We enjoyed our time in Sunriver as always, but I probably wouldn't choose this home again. It is VERY close to the railroad tracks on the north side of the community and made a quiet sleep quite challenging - day or night. The beds didn't suit us much as well - but might be just fine for others. The folks at Sunriver Pines were extremely helpful and easy to work with - I'd have no problems renting from their group again.

Great trip, exceptionally clean house

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to Sunriver in many years and we had kind of forgotten the layout of the resort. The price and availability of this cabin fit our plans so, even though I knew that it bordered the railroad tracks, we gave it a shot.

When we first walked in the door, my wife kept saying "It's so clean..., it's so clean...". She was right, the place was in great shape. The housekeeping staff do an excellent job. The layout of the house is perfect for a family getaway with the living room on the opposite side of the house from the bedrooms. The hot tub was clean, and ready to go. The kitchen was well-stocked with all the cooking utensils you could ask for. The carpets in the bedrooms were either new or very recently shampooed. The bathrooms were stocked with soap & bathing supplies and were, of course, spotless. All four of us are allergic to dogs/cats to varying degrees and I read a review of this house where it was mentioned that a renter had brought their dog with them. I was a little worried that we might have allergy issues, but the cleaning staff do such a great job that I had nothing to worry about.

Yes, the railroad tracks are about 150' from the house and it's impossible not to hear the train go by. However, the house has very good insulation and, as long as you don't leave your bedroom window open overnight, you won't be too disturbed by the train. The first night I left the window open to cool the house down and I remember hearing the train pass twice. The rest of the time I closed the window at bedtime and I wasn't bothered by it again the rest of the trip. The benefit of backing to the train tracks and the forest is that the house has a lot of privacy. Sitting on the back deck, you can look out into the forest without a bunch of other houses blocking your view. The strategic placement of the fence & gate that encloses the hot tub area affords complete privacy so you can change outside instead of walking back inside dripping wet.

The house comes with eight passes to the SHARC facility. My kids (8 & 12) really enjoyed SHARC and we spent a ton of time there. If you are considering coming to Sunriver with children, the SHARC passes are a must. The house is also very close to the bike path system and the small grocery store (North Store).

The next time we visit Sunriver, I will try to rent this house again. Everyone in our family was very happy with it and we had a great time.
