About Vacasa of Oregon Coast

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Great size but still cozy!

 • 4 of 5

The house fit our party perfectly! We loved how close the beach was for the kids!

The house had some strange ticks, but nothing that held us up significantly. For the most part the stay really was magical for our entire party. I loved that each room had its own bath.

A few things to note: the hot tub was disgusting. we cleaned it and put chemicals in it (we know how to run one as we have one at home). They should keep up on that for guests if they leave it there.

The fire pit was a bit janky. It took some major fiddling with to get the flame to ignite. also, didnt seem major but we kept catching a slight smell of propane in the air while it was lit...seems to be a small leak. We LOVED having the fire pit...just felt it was maybe a bit unsafe in current condition.

The oven light is ALWAYS ON as well as the light indicating a hot burner on the stove. Not major - just kinda wierd.

NOTE: if vacationing in Waldport - there is no gas station (or anything for that matter) open past around 8pm.

Can't beat the view

 • 4 of 5

The location of the house is great. Had a few issues with the house. There is a light on in the oven that doesn't go off and the light on the stove was on all the time. We had an issue with the hot tub. We were suppose to have the hot tub we were told it wasn't an amenity any more. But it was when we rented it, so we talked to the manager and he said he would make sure it was clean and ready to go when we got there. It was not clean nor was it ready. We called the guy came out and told us it is not an amenity anymore so we had to deal with that but he did get it clean and ready to use. After that we had a pretty good time enjoying out visit with my sister from Alabama and my son and his family from Washington state. And as I said the view was awesome.

Very Nice Property, Well-Located, Great Beach Access!

 • 5 of 5

We were entirely satisfied with this vacation home. The home is well-equipped, nicely furnished, in a quiet neighborhood on the beach. We are already planning our calendar to book this home again next year.

Many Pros!

 • 5 of 5

This house has been in my “favorites” folder for a few years, and I can’t believe we haven’t come sooner! The view and the bay beach access are simply to die for. Our family (with our four young kids) spent much of our vacation down on the sand playing, crabbing, and taking in the amazing scenery. The climb down can be a bit tricky, the stairs from the property don’t go all the way down the rocks. But there are stairs down the street which are very close if someone was unable to use the rock access off the property’s back yard. There were crab pots in the garage so we went to Ray’s and got our shellfish license and caught fresh crab for dinner!

The beds are very comfortable, they provide lots of towels, and having a washer and dryer was extremely convenient since we changed clothes every time we came in. The foot rinse station outside was also a great feature. We got fire wood and lit an indoor fire in the fireplace a couple of nights which was very relaxing. They had a booster high chair, pack and play, and roll away bed which also came in handy with our young crew. Dish on Demand was provided so we were able to watch movies at night, although if you get lucky with great weather like we did you won’t be watching much tv!

Upon arriving, it was noticed as in other reviews that the house could use a little more thorough cleaning job. Our crawling baby was somewhat dirty from moseying around. Also, we only slept in the upstairs master one night because while they have nice blackout curtains, only one window was missing them and it made the room extremely bright at 4:00am. We slept in the other king downstairs the rest of the trip (which was extremely comfortable too). We also had a little trouble lighting the outside fireplace, but called Vacasa and they were very helpful walking us through it. We thought the hot tub wasn’t working but the outside breaker just had to be flipped, then we were able to enjoy the hot tub the whole trip. The pros DEFINITELY outweighed these cons for me and I am sure we will be back to Waldport!

Misleading picture in listing

 • 2 of 5

We arrived to find that the door code we were given did not work. Vacasa resolved but did not apologize for the inconvenience. One bathroom toilet was not working properly but maintenance was able to fix the issue. The picture in the listing is misleading with the picture showing a deck with a sectional that actually has cushions included. There were no cushions included in our visit, although, we searched all the nooks and crannies. It would have been lovely to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful view but not without cushions. This place could use a good cleaning and some maintenance. Baseboards are absolutely filthy, holes in doors and missing lightbulbs. The layout is great and the sea lions are a joy to watch.

Our family of six stayed the week at the Red Door. Nearly everything we hoped to do was at the house! We watched sea lions playing in the bay every day. I could go on and on, but I'm just going to say, "FUN!"
