Family-friendly holiday home in beautiful park and pool environment near the sea

This new summer house is ideal for families with children, and also couples. A majority of the homeowners are Norwegian or British, but there is also owners and guests from several other European countries. The house is situated in a beautiful holiday park, and it is only a short walking distance from the unique Cretan fishermans village called Panormos. The communal pool is next to the house, and it is surrounded by beautiful flowers and palms. The sea is just 100 meters away, and nice sandy beaches can be found in the village. In this small charming village you will find restaurants, shops, cafes and everything you will need for a nice holiday. A brand new supermarket is situated only 100 meters from the holiday complex.
The house has a 35 sqm tiled and furnished terrace partly covered with a pergola, and is accessible both from the living room and directly from the bedroom.
The spacious living room and kitchen has practical furniture and is equipped with new and modern equipment that makes it a nice home during summer holidays and for all year living. Direct access from the living room and kitchen to the terrace and pool. The living room contains both a sofa and a sofabed, and a mobile cot and a baby highchair. You will also find stove, dishwasher, micro oven, refrigerator with fridge and any other equipment you need in the kitchen. Free wi-fi, tv, DVD and air condition is also available in the living room and kitchen. All windows and the terrace doors can be covered with mobile mosquito nets if necessary. The bedroom is spacious with air condition and a doublebed. There is direct access to the terrace and the pool from the bedroom, and also large closets for clothing, and a safe.
The closet in the hallway contains the washing machine, the water boiler and the ironing board. The bathroom has shower, sink, toilet and a hairdryer.
Parking in the street just 30 to 40 meters from the house. Grocery store (super market) 75 meters from the holiday complex.
Walking distance (8-10 minutes) to the village with restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. The village also has ATM, several grocery shops, mini markets, pharmacy, bakery, butcher, hair dressers, rent a car, travel agency, boat hire and so on. There is a short drive (22 km) to nearby town Rethymnon, and 56 km to Heraklion which has an airport. Chania and its airport is 79 km to the west.
The summer house is a nice and cosy home for a quiet Cretan holiday, and a perfect starting point for trips and sightseeing on a fantastic island with very good climate, varied nature and lots of opportunities!

Perfect holiday home.

This was exactly as described, a lovely house on a lovely complex. The accommodation is modern, comfortable and very well equipped.The pool was great and never too busy with plenty of sun beds even in August. The village is still traditional with lots of good tavernas (Kastros is the closest and our favourite). The owner was very accommodating when our travel dates didn't fit in with the change over dates and was always easy to contact when we had questions. A slight criticism is that the hedge on the terrace restricted the lovely view of the pool but some people will value the privacy it provides.

Family Holiday - Aug 2018

This property was perfect for our family of four. It is ideally located close enough to local shops/Tavernas and the local beaches and has all the facilities that we needed for a relaxing stay. The pool was great for the kids, especially as the apartment is located so close the pool and there was never any issue with sunbeds as there were two available in the garden of the apartment as well as additional sunbeds around the pool. It was never too busy and there were often quiet periods when we had the pool to ourselves. The owner, Roald was very helpful and accommodating when we were organizing our trip and provided lots of useful info as well as being flexible with the dates for our stay. He stayed in regular contact via e-mail throughout our stay to ensure that we had everything we needed. I would recommend this property to anyone who would like to enjoy a relaxing holiday in a great location.

Everything you could want.

A lovely house on a lovely small complex. This was our second visit to this apartment and it was just as good as the first time. The house was clean on our arrival and cleaned every week. The pool area was cleaned daily, there were plenty of sun beds and the pool was always quiet. Communication with the owner is excellent both before and during our holiday. There was a bit of a problem with the dishwasher when we arrived and a new one was fitted within a couple of days. During the fitting the kickboard was damaged and the lovely property manager Dean came to measure up and that too was replaced immediately. Panormos village is not too commercialised with plenty of good tavernas, most of which we tried and without fail had good meals with friendly service. Overall we had a wonderful three day weeks.

Great place to stay, would go again and highly recommend it.

My wife and I have recently returned having rented Roald’s apartment 22nd - 29th June 2019. The apartment is clean, to modern standard, well equipped and is perfected for a stay in Panormos. The apartment is in a great location and just the other side of the apartment’s private garden terrace is the great communal pool, that is ideal for both families and adults, as the the pool is separated into 3 interconnect pools of deferring depths, which are cleaned and maintained daily by the complex management company. The complex is located about a 10 minute easy walk from the village centre and 5 minute walk from the beach. Panormos village is amazing, it isn’t over developed and still had an original Cretan feel to it. In the evening the Main Street is closed off to cars and the tavernas take over with the tables being positioned on the cobble road. We would highly recommend both Roald’s apartment and Panormos. Un appartement très bien placé et fonctionnel

Nous avons passé 3 semaines dans l'appartement. Il était propre, fonctionnel et très bien équipé. Il est très bien situé dans le petit village très agréable de panormo avec toutes les commodités a proximité. Parfait pour passer de superbes vacances dans cette merveilleuse île Roald a été très facile à joindre et nous répondait très rapidement dès que nous en avions besoin. La piscine est juste splendide et devant la terrasse. Parfait pour surveiller les enfants. Je recommande vivement cet appartement dans lequel nous avons passé de merveilleuses vacances

Logement exceptionnel !

Nous avons sélectionné le logement de Roald pour nos vacances avec notre petit garçon de 4 ans ; le logement est vraiment parfait pour des vacances en famille, il y a tout ce qu'il faut. Vous y trouverez même les essentiels de la cuisine, ce qui est un vrai plus ! Côté piscine, c'est vraiment parfait pour les enfants, il y a une petite pataugeoire (en rond), un bassin à 1,10 m et 2 à 1,40 m ; ce qui permet à un enfant de n'importe quel âge, de trouver son bonheur ! Le logement est très bien situé. Roald est un hôte exceptionnel : il est très réactif et adorable ! L'équipe qui entretien la résidence est également formidable ! Nous avons passé un super séjour ! Sehr schönes , ruhiges Appartement in einer sehr gepflegten kleinen Ferienanlage

Appartement liegt in Fußnähe zum Ortskern Panormo Kann auch mit Kindern prima gelaufen werden. Es ist sehr gut ausgestattet, sehr sauber und man hat eine schöne Aussicht auf die Poollandschaft mit den Palmen, herrlich zum schwimmen/ Baden oder nur in Ruhe genießen. Alles vom Vermieter von Ankunft bis Abreise gut beschrieben. Es war in der ersten Juni Hälfte nicht viel los, deshalb wirklich immer sehr ruhig und erholsam. Panormo liegt prima für diverse Ausflüge/ Erkundungen der Insel und Ihrer Sehenswürdigkeiten, man muss auch unbedingt mal einen Tag im Landesinneren der Insel verbracht haben ( Kreta ist weitaus mehr als nur Sonne, Meer und herrliche Strände!) Ich kann das Appartement mit seiner Lage und Ausstattung uneingeschränkt weiter empfehlen.

Schöne, sauber Unterkunft mit Gemeinschaftspool

Schöne, kleine Wohnung mit einem Schlafzimmer, direkt am Gemeinschaftspool in einer sehr gepflegten Anlage. Meer und Einstieg in der Nähe möglich (kleine, steinige Bucht), charmante Ortschaft nebenan, allerdings muss man für schöne Strände/Buchten ein Stück fahren! Küche, Bad, Wohnzimmer (DVD/WLAN) alles gut ausgestattet. Bett im Schlafzimmer klein, Schlafcouch im WZ auch - max für eine weitere Person geeignet! Gute Kommunikation mit Vermieter und Verwaltung, uns wurde ein zusätzliches Klappbett zur Verfügung gestellt. Besten Dank nochmal an Dean, Auch an Roald für die gute Korrespondenz!

Thanks for your good and honest review! The bed in the bedroom is a "small kingsize bed" with measurements 140 cm width and 200 cm length, and nearly all previous guests have found it to be a good bed. The info in the advertisement says as follows about sleeping arrangements in the living room : "The living room contains both a sofa and a sofabed". Both of them are good, long and spacious enough for sleeping for kids and teenagers, one person in each sofa or sofabed. Previously nearly all guests have found both the sofa and the sofabed to be good for sleeping for both kids and teenagers. The mobile foldable bed is meant for a fifth guest, but this time it seems it was useful for a kid or teenager who prefered it to the sofa or the sofabed. Lovely apartment in lovely complex

We have just returned (yesterday) from 2 weeks in this lovely apartment. The apartment is well equipped and has all you need for a relaxing holiday. It is perfectly located on the ground floor with a lovely, spacious patio overlooking the pool. We loved being able to step straight out of the apartment to the pool area which was never busy (although we were staying out of season). The apartment complex is beautifully landscaped and kept immaculately clean. It is a 5-10 minute walk from Panormos itself and there is a small supermarket 100m away with basic provisions. There are a couple of bigger supermarkets in the village itself. Roald, the owner, could not have been more helpful and attentive, emailing frequently to make sure everything was ok and with helpful tips for things to do in the area. The whole process, from initial enquiries to the return of the 100 euro deposit (which Roald returned immediately!) Dean, the property manager, was also on hand, if needed, either in person or by phone. We would definitely return here and would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday.

Excellent holiday!

I stayed for one week in september 2018, relaxing and quiet place. Perfect temp in the pool, not to warm. House with all I needed, shop/grocery only about 100 meters away. Quick and good help from Roald, the owner, if there was any problems. (Phone and email.) Nice freediving (snorkeling?) in the sea! Only 100 meters to walk down to the sea. (Remember to bring some kind of shoes you can use in the water, easier to go in and out of the water.)

The rocky beach below the holiday complex is good for snorkeling and freediving. A further 3 - 4 minute walk is all it takes to get to two sandy beaches close to the village. One of these beaches has been awarded the Blue Flag for its clear water and clean beach, and both of them have sunbeds, umbrellas and tavernas. It is very nice to receive a 5 star review! Bel appartement bien agence et au bord de la piscine. Équipement bien mais manque de vaisselle et de couverts. Obligé de faire tourner le lave vaisselle tous les jours !!. Bruyant en journée á cause de groupes pas très respectueux. Ces deux points ne nous ont pas empêché de profiter du superbe complexe avec la belle piscine tous les jours entretenu. A few days after new guests arrive at my holiday home I always send them an email and ask if everything is OK. That way guests can tell me if anything is not ok, and I will have the opportunity to address any problems. If I don`t hear anything from guests during their stay I expect that all is well. In the ad here at HomeAway it says under "Facilities" and "Kitchen" that there is "spacious kitchen with all necessary equipment for preparing family meals". Which is correct : the kitchen has equipment such as crockery and cutlery for at least 6 persons. I have told my property manager to check if any crockery is broken or if any cutlery is missing, and to purchase new if anyting is broken or missing. If a problem such as noise during daytime is brought to my attention, then I will of course deal with the it. In general the holiday complex is quiet and peaceful both at daytime and during nights. That is why it is popular with both couples and families. It is very good to hear that you enjoyed our beautiful holiday complex and that you had a nice holiday! Best regards Roald Krumsvik owner

A lovely property in a lovely location

Apartment 6 is exactly as described in the listing. It is bright, modern and clean, with all the facilities that you need. A mid-stay change of linen, and clean of the property was provided during our 10-day stay. The free wi-fi was reliable, and fast enough for our needs. The large patio/garden overlooking the pool area has a table with 4 chairs, and 2 sun loungers. This area gets the sun all morning (in September anyway!), and has shade all afternoon - an ideal spot for a shady lunch after a morning sun bathing and swimming. For those that want sun in the afternoon, there are many sunbeds for use around the beautiful pool area. The pool area also has 3 or 4 large sun umbrellas for residents' use, and a number of large palm trees also provide shade if required. The pool area was never, ever busy during the 10 days we were there, and there were always plenty of spare sunbeds (if not, you could easily use the 2 from the apartment). The apartment is a 6-7 minute stroll from the nearest 2 tavernas, and the centre of Panormo (with a choice of many tavernas, cafes, mini-markets and gift shops - everything you could need) is a further 2 or 3 minute stroll away. Panormo is a beautiful and friendly little village, with lots of interesting streets and alleyways to wander around. Whilst being full of tourists, it is not "touristy" - it has retained its charm. The harbour area has a number of good tavernas and cafes with stunning views of the harbour. Prices for evening meals were reasonable - a typical meal for 2 of a shared starter, 2 main courses of local Cretan dishes, half a litre of good house wine, free desert (at all the tavernas we used), and free raki at the end of the meal would be 25 to 35 euros depending on your menu choices (lobster, fillet steak etc might be more). Roald, the property owner, has very good English, and could not have been faster or more helpful when answering our (many!!) questions - both before the holiday and whilst we were there. Dean, his property manager in Crete, also spoke great English and was always available by phone or email if a problem arose (a brand new kettle failed on us, and was sorted immediately) - and he was also able to provide reassuring advice during a power cut (which is an occupational hazard on Crete!). All in all, we had a fabulous time in Roald's apartment and would not hesitate to return to Panormo, and to Roald's apartment, in the future. We would also recommend it to friends and family.

Walk 5 minutes to the nearest sandy beach with beach bar and taverna, or 8 - 10 minutes to the nearby authentic Cretan village of Panormos with sandy beach, restaurants, cafes and shops. Find modern city life a 20 min drive away at Rethymnon, or go for walks in the countryside. Or let the nearby travel agency help you find a real Cretan day trip.
