About Glenna Hopper
I grew up here and helped build the house which started as a remodel of our horse barn and expanded from there. the inside paneling is the original 1930's exterior wood from the barn. The house has offered sanctuary to 4 generations. we have watched the land and ecological succession over the years and have bird records since 1971. We love sharing our home and sanctuary with others and offer the spiritual transformation of peace and solitude.
Glenna Hopper purchased this House in 1978
Why Glenna Hopper chose Story
Enjoy a relaxed home with all of the amenities, but with the added luxury of outdoor activities, wildlife abounds, some species of hummingbirds nest only here. We've seen bears and mountain lions passing through, no worries. Moose have wandered on to the porch. the fishing is amazing. walks are soothing and rejuvenating. and yes theres social activities. A beautiful church. hikes out the back door. horseback trips, fishing but mostly peaceful solitude and rejuvenation.
This cabin has everything! It was stocked with every necessity...and then some! My husband and I and daughter and son-in-law were here for Longmire Days in nearby Buffalo. There are plenty of sleeping areas and loads of books and movies to enjoy...plus so many interesting pictures and items throughout....flowers and herbs in the yard...horses out back...and every morning we saw deer and turkeys.
Glenna was very accommodating and informative. And I would recommend this place.
Thanks Linda it was my pleasure meeting all of you Thanks for coming hope I see you again
4 days in Story, WY
This was the perfect place for our family reunion. Really love the deer and wild turkeys. Thanks again Glenna
Fun for groups!
The kitchen is amazing- fully stocked with cookware and dishes. I liked the distribution of bedrooms, it was good for our group of 4 couples. Backyard is very scenic, and we all got a kick out of the visiting deer and turkeys. The house is tucked away nicely, so you feel private. There's a lot of space for group dinners or group hangouts.
Great vacation home
The home was fantastic. We found it to be clean, well layed out, and comfortable. Our dogs loved the huge backyard. It was fun to feed the deer and turkeys who came by in the mornings and early evening.
Glenna is a wonderful person and was very accommodating and helpful. This is one of my favorite places I’ve stayed at. We also visited a nearby creek and caught some fish for dinner. If you like the outdoors, this place is perfect.
Beautiful property, very rustic, lot of wildlife.
Our family stayed in Glenna's home for two nights in mid-June as part of our vacation. Glenna was extremely welcoming - not only did she open every aspect of her house to us, but she gave us recommendations and shared her local knowledge with us. Her home was comfortable with a wonderful history and a closeness to nature that we haven't experienced in any other place! I highly commend her for creating such a pretty place with all the amenities a guest could want. We couldn't have felt more welcome! To top it off I left my pillow there when she left and she drove up the mountain 66 miles to drop it off at the next place we were staying!
Peaceful location and captivating home
We selected this home hoping that it would be provide a peaceful base camp for some running/hiking/exploring in the Bighorns. Boy, did it surpass our hopes! Everything from the proximity to the Bighorns to the wildlife that visited multiple times a day to our daily visits with the horse and mule was perfect! All of us, ages 11 to 74, were pleased with the accommodations and were enchanted with the novelty of the home. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. We highly recommend this home for anyone seeking some peace and quiet and interaction with nature.
Historical sites and Indian sites. Geology and dinosaurs. Rustic peaceful environment.
