We are proud to present and offer you our Condo at the traditional Hawaiian style Hawaiian King Hotel located in the heart of Waikiki just one block from Waikiki Beach where you will experience breathtaking sunsets and sunrises over Diamond Head. Just steps away from your front door is surfing, snorkeling, Honolulu Zoo, Aquarium, Diamond Head Crater, Kapiolani Park, an array of restaurants, exciting nightlife and the famous International Marketplace.

Our Condo is a first floor private end unit nicely shaded in the afternoon for a cool relaxing feeling. Both queen size bed and sofa-bed will comfortably sleep four. You will enjoy watching movies on the 27 inch TV and DVD player. Air conditioning and fans in both bedroom and living room will guaranty any cool temperature you desire. A full and spacious kitchen with oven, microwave, radio/alarm will allow you to enjoy cooking at home enjoying time with your family or friends.

A vanity area mainly designed for you ladies will allow to comfortably prepare you for Honolulu’s best days and nights. If want to be outdoors, but still want some privacy and would like to have a nice cup-of-tea then our lanai with table and chairs is the perfect place. For those of you who can’t resist not bringing their laptop on vacation, you’re going to be able to enjoy free wireless Internet access sitting around a refreshing pool. A BBQ grill can be used to prepare nice and juicy steaks and hamburgers. The building offers a laundry room.

The Hawaiian King pool is surrounded by a lush landscaped garden with lit tiki torches at night giving it that true island feel. This 50s style tiki decor sets you back in time so you can re-live the true Hawaiian lifestyle and live the spirit of Aloha.

We are please to provide you with a 'home away from home' experience ready for having fun, relaxing and/or working in Hawaii!

Beautiful affordable place in Waikiki

First of all, everything being promised in the VRBO description was there, insofar I can keep this short.

I would like to emphasize that the kitchen was very well equipped with everything you would need to prepare a meal. There was no dishwasher, but everything well set-up to make up for this. The layout of the apartment is very well designed and very efficient - they make the most out of limited space. We loved very much the back patio, which gave us some privacy and real trees there, too.

I saw in a couple of reviews concerns about parking - maybe you should reconsider the whole approach: In Waikiki everything you need is in walking distance and the bus systems is great. 70 dollars for a month bus is really a deal for a reliable system - google maps gives you real time updates about bus arrivals. Other concerns are about the pub in the Hawaiian King: No worries, you are safe there, they take care for that, even if the place seems to a bit rowdy from time to time - you can quietly enjoy your drinks there.

The entire property is obviously from the sixties of the last last century, but maintained very well, particularly the laundry is really good and the BBQ also in a good shape, and everything seems to be secure.

The landlord is very responsive, we had only one issue to be resolved, and he sent very soon a professional to get that fixed. The instructions you get are detailed to the extent you need it, no stupid boiler plate language.

So my wife and I, I was working on 6-week-assignement, were happy campers there.

Exactly what you see in the pictures!

The place is perfect. It has everything you need and most everything is within walking distance. We walked to the beach daily, walked to happy hour nightly. The weather couldn't have been better. Only rained one day out of 14!

The grocery store is only a 5 minute walk and ABC is on pretty well every corner.

Jason's condo has everything you'll need for an amazing stay. The environment is great as well. People are nice and the pool is amazing to sit by and have a drink.

Highly recommend Hawaiian King 101!

Inexpensive, positive and negative

Owners were responsive and professional.

Security access to the building is adequate. Security to the room was a fail. Someone had cut the cheap plastic window AC screen, so anyone could reach in and unlock the door.

Parking is a major headache. Determine your parking situation before you arrive. There is no parking on the street, forget about that. One garage was $45 a nite. The cop that I talked out of giving me a ticket could not help me. Eventually I found 'a guy' that fixed me up for $16 a nite. His 'office' is tbe bar in the lobby.

The bar in the lobby is a locals hang out. Cheap beer and 70' rock and roll. Folks were always friendly, but I made sure that I escorted my daughter past there on friday and saturday night ....and past the drug dealer crew/thugs that a taken over the street corner near by. I saw that on day one, that cops have to know about it.

The accommodation was a little long in the tooth, but it was clean. Everything functioned. The bed was comfortable. The pictures on the website are accurate. Generally, this is just an old building.

It is very nice that the apartment is on the corner ground floor of the courtyard/pool area. This made it feel an extention of the rooms. We did not have to climb stairs. Very nice.

The pool was clean and clear on day one. On day seven, it was cloudy green and we could no longer see the nice dolphin mosaics on the pool bottom.

This is an inexpensive accommodation in Waikiki.

This is my Home away from Home

I've stayed here 7 straight years, and though Waikiki is changing in ways I don't like, I still love unit 101 at the Hawaiian King. I think it's the best bargain in Hawaii. Safe and secure, only 2 blocks to the beach, The Bus stop just around the corner, a grocery store 2 blocks away. I'll keep coming back as long as I can still hobble.

Nice property. Would recommend for those on a budget.

Good experience.

Pros:

-close to everything in town

-Front desk attendant Dave was super helpful and provided beach gear that we did not have

-decent pool area, very clean and well kept

-laundry on site

-quiet and safe

Cons:

-uncomfortable pull-out couch

-dive bar next door led to a lot of people loitering out front
