Amazing

We loved our stay in Catania and in this apartment. It was exactly as advertised, the host was very nice with loads of great recommendations and the market on our doorstep was nothing short of amazing. It felt authentic in a realistic way.

New Year‘s eve in Catania

I had a really nice stay at Luca‘s Place right in the lively centre of Catania. The location is perfect to explore the city with bars and markets around the corner. The appartement is spacious and clean with a nice terrace.

For street market fans

This is a great place to stay if you want to use the Fera 'o Luni street market (which is amazing). Luca was very responsive at all times and fixed the patio grill promptly.

I enjoyed a two week holiday at the apartment and used it as a base to see all the attractions in the locality. Great apartment close to the centre and train station. I had constant contact with the host who organised the transfers to and from the airport. I highly recommend staying here.

Very nice house with helpful host

We spent one great week in this house. Everything was as expected, nice and cleans rooms. Nice kitchen and bathroom. The terrasse was very nice and you can cook outside on the bbq, we ate outside every night. We recomment this house and Luca, the host was very helpful and even gave us a ride to the airport for our flight back! Lise & Ali

Great stay

Luca was great to work with. He had a driver waiting for us at the airport. The apartment is right by the open market. Don’t be concerned as you are walking to the apartment, it is clean inside, big steel door and we felt totally safe. Thank you Luca! We will see you again.

Al Vicoletto was well located for easy access to restaurants, transport, food supplies

I would like to thank Luka for his good advice, help and the airport transfers to the house. The close availability of the market was very interesting and I was amazed how quickly any remaining rubish was cleaned away. Within a few hundred paces there was every manner of bars and restaurants. All the equipment in the house operated correctly, the best feature reason the shower.

Well situated and comfortable

Luca made all the difference for our stay here. Excellent communication and was very helpful. The area is great, especially if you like markets because it’s right outside your door. The front door is not car accessible. It’s only a short walk down an alley. The alley itself is pretty interesting. So many shops and restaurants surrounding this place. Ok wifi, great water pressure and temperature. Nice to have air conditioning. A very sweet little outdoor space. Would recommend.

This place was a lie. Area surrounding it was covered in trash. Homeless people and stray animals eating said trash. Would not stay here. Tried to cancel due to the surrounding area being completely disgusting but apparently vibrant now means unsanitary.

Diamond in the rough

The interior is amazing. Very clean. Location was interesting and suited our taste (we want off the beaten path). Very comfortable with air conditioning. Very historical. The highlight for us was the very large open air market right outside the door (Piazza Carlo Alberto). Good deals galore. We had no water the last day and no internet. Host said packet was missing and no hair dryer. The Price for the unit was great.

Location, Location, Location

This is a great place to explore Catania by foot and neighboring villages/city by public transportation. The market, an excellent bakery, and popular restaurants are right around the corner. My email was shut down by my provider for security (I guess). Luca got me the missing information quickly once I contacted him. It is important to know the market noise starts right under your window early in the morning (carts wheeling by, talking). We sort of enjoyed the banter, but if you are someone who has trouble falling back to sleep or want to start your day late, you will want earplugs.

Catania Apartment

This was a reasonably priced charming 3 bedroom vintage walk up flat with fully equipped kitchen for making light food and snacks. The apartment also a washing machine but for drying clothes there is an outside clothes line--at the kitchen patio area. The apartment location is in the middle of Catania and there is an open air produce market and flea market every morning 7am to 1pm. Most everything you need is within walking distance and about 5 blocks away there is nice upscale shopping area There are several restaurants very near the flat. The host (Luca) is super helpful and responds to requests quickly. We got lost driving when first trying to get to the parking garage (2 blocks away from flat you have to take your luggage on foot from garage to the flat) but Luca came on his motor cycle and led us to the parking garage and then helped get our luggage to the apartment! We would stay there if we were come back to Sicily again!

Agréable séjour en sicile

Nous avons passé une belle Semaine en sicile. Le logement était très propre et spacieux. Il ne faut pas s'arrêter à l'impression que donne la ruelle car ce n'est pas à l'image de l'appartement. Luca nous a très bien accueilli et s'est montré fort sympathique. La chambre du fond est plus calme et nous a préservés du bruit du marché.. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié la vallée des temples d'agrigente, Syracuse et taormine. Nous avons également fait une très belle balade dans le versant nord du parc du mont Etna ( après fornazzo au mont sartorius vers le refuge de citelli, La route pour arriver au départ de la balade est incroyable... Elle serpente dans les anciennes coulées de lave à perte de vue. ). Nous recommandons le loueur de voiture place Stesicoro et les bars rue Auteri Pour les points négatifs, il faut quand même parler de la question des poubelles et des déchets qui traînent partout aux abords des villes et sur les routes, ce qui gâchent les paysages... Autre point négatif, la conduite au volant des siciliens et leur manque de courtoisie vis à vis des touristes...

Bon rapplrt qualité/prix

Appartement d'environ 80m2 avec 3 chambres dont une avec un lit simple, sans climatisation. Appartement propre, pas de salon mais une petite terrasse (à noter que la voisine ne tolère aucun bruit après minuit). L'appartemeent est situé au coeur de Catania, près d'un grand marché, l'environnement est parfois bruyant, proche des transports en communs et des attractions touristiques à pied: comptez 18min à pied pour la gare. La plage de Catania est à environ 30 minutes de bus. Nous n'avons pas vu l'hôte mais la communication était très bonne mis à part pour le barbecue qui était defecteux.

Vakantiewoning

Het is een etage woning met eigen opgang naar de 1e etage. Dus geen vrijstaande woning. Het staat in een doodlopende vrij donkere steeg. Het straatje en de façade zijn niet erg aantrekkelijk. De binnen kant is echter ok. De markt is pal voor de deur, wat voor de nodige lawaai en rommel zorgt. De markt begint al heel vroeg in de morgen 6 dagen in de week. De woning bestaat uit een keuken met een eethoek en drie slaapkamers, er is geen woonkamer, wat wij echt een minpunt vonden, we miste vooral een bank of gemakkelijke stoelen om te kunnen relaxen na een vermoeide dag, of met slecht weer. De TV heeft alleen Italiaanse zenders. Eigen TV op iPad ging niet omdat de wifi niet erg stabiel is gaat vaak aan en uit. Het bed vonden we niet echt fijn, de matras is denk ik aan vervanging toe. De hond van de buren ging non-stop blaffen als we op het terras kwamen heel vervelend. Pluspunten zijn, dat de meeste bezienswaardigheden op loopafstand is. Openbaar vervoer in de buurt. De Eigenaar vriendelijk en hulp bereid. Voor kort verblijf zeker een aan rader. Voor langer verblijf mis ik in deze woning huiselijkheid.

Lassen Sie mich sagen, dass das Haus ein typisches sizilianisches Haus im Herzen des historischen Zentrums ist, die Betten sind normale Doppelbetten und auch Einzelbetten, bequem und einladend. Der Aussichtspunkt ist, wie Sie sagen, Teil der Kultur des historischen Zentrums, wir können nichts dagegen tun. Catania im Juli 2023 - ich würde sofort wieder hinfahren!

Die Wohnung hat eine fantastische zentrale Lage. Der Wochenmarkt direkt vor meiner Haustür ist mein ganz großes Highlight. Hier gibt es alles. Die frische Ware habe ich in der Küche sofort gekocht. Die nahe Via Etnea ist Fußgängerzone mit abwechslungsreichen Läden aller Preisklassen. Palazzi, Kirchen überall duftender Oleander! Hier entlang laüft man 10 min bis zum Busbahnhof. Linie D fährt zu den endlos weiten und breiten Sandstränden. Beim Baden blickt man auf den Ätna. Ich empfehle die Badeanstalten ( Lido) zu nutzen. Lidoaquazurra war besonders schön mit großem Sonnenschirm und superbequemen Liegen. Da hält man am Strand die Hitze super aus. Wir sind schön braun geworden. Das Castell, den Steinstrand mit der schwarzen Lava! Die vielen Straßen und Gassen mit Graffiti und kleinen Läden... Es gibt so viel zu sehen, wenn man zu Fuß unterwegs ist. Abends öffnen viele nette Bars und Restaurants. Die Musik spielt bis nachts um zwei. Ein schöner Park "Villa Belini" liegt auch ganz in der Nähe. Eine schöne Anlage in völliger Ruhe. Überall kann man sich preiswert Kaffee, Wasser oder Bier in den kleinen Läden oder Straßenbars kaufen. Und ich hatte niemals das Gefühl, dass ich hier ausgeraubt werden würde. In Catania trifft sich die Welt und jeder kann dabei sein.

Luca was amazing!!! The best host EVER!!!!

It was so nice to see Luca at the airport, picking us up & then having him take us back to the airport even though it was so early!!! He was always making sure we had everything we needed & kept in touch with us to make sure we were comfortable. The apartment is lovely & close to everything. You can smell fresh bread & pastries being made in the morning as they are just below the apartment. The market is so close and it is AMAZING!!!! They set up very early but it is so nice having everything that you need close by. We would definitely rent from Luca again. Thank you Luca for everything. ☺️☺️☺️
